@multisammmmy you can clearly see that it has 6 strings plus its an epiphone Les Paul and Les Paul basses, although do exist are so rare that thy are nearly non existent and only made by gibson not epiphone. i play guitar and bass too, you can still hear the bass when sara is not playing there is still a bass line going so she is not playing it, shes playing an electric guitar.

man imagine what they'd sound like if they had top notch instruments. seriously tegan's using a yamaha and sara's got an epiphone. i'm not saying they're low quality instruments but i just think they deserve a better rig. well either way they sound great

Yamaha acoustics are actually surprisingly competitive to really high end acoustics. I don't see why they get looked over so much. Oh and for the record Gibson acoustics blow!!! but their electrics are good but heavy.

i wouldn't use gibson acoustics as well but they have nice bottom end, electrics are only heavy because its all mahogany, thats why you get big sounds, and even TaS admitted they didn't like their instruments. and i guess the only reason why yamahas are usually overlooked is that they're jap made, same with takamine and i guess also because they make pianos, motorbikes, cars, sound systems, toothpaste and whatnot and people just don't really like brands that dominate a large variety of products.

@philphie Actually, if you think about it, every musician picks his/her instrument specifically to fit what sound they like. In fact, I myself prefer the sound of Epiphone better than all else. If it gives the sound they want, they'll use it. I'm pretty sure Tegan and Sara have enough money already to grab what they want in their line-up...it is kind of their job now...
