There is no such thing as a british accent. Britain is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, all with their own, distinct accent which differ in regions too. Rob has an english accent with possibly no region, so I guess its RP.

i just hate it when people say 'british accent', because that would be like a mixture of ALL of them, so it would sound awful. Rob's from London, but wiki doesn't say whereabouts. But he hasn't got a cockney accent (which is usually how you sound when you come from London), so maybe it's just levelled out a bit. That's what happens with British Actors, they don't usually have a regional accent.

@starlight104 there IS such a thing as a british accent. An english accent is a british accent, a welsh accent is a british accent and so on and so on. Basically, a british accent is any accent that comes from Britain. I think what you mean, is that there is no such thing as one single british accent that stands alone.

It's because, if you're welsh, and you have a welsh accent, if you are in another country and say you have a british accent, people will assume you're from england, that's why it's just easier to just say 'english accent' rather than british.

@starlight104 you're right but it wouldn't be wrong to say that someone who is British has a British accent. It would only be wrong to say THE British accent. so for someone to say something like, "I love Rob's British accent" would make perfect sense because he has got a British accent. You're right in saying that most people associate "British accent" with English accent and they are wrong to think it's the only kind but that doesn't mean there's no such thing as a British accent.
