  • whats the original song

  • what is the difference between mpd26 and mpd32?from what I see the mpd32 just has more knobs

  • can anyone help me out? every time I try to record a beat it's always WAY out of time once im done.. and i know my timing aint THAT bad. So what am setting up wrong in fl studio?

  • rreason ant fuckin wit fl studio!

  • Good shit bro, Im making the slow switch from Djing to playing with samples, I just bought a MPD26. Is FL studio a good program to run with it?

  • @Nreeks81 I've never really used FL Studio, but from what I've seen that program is just as good to use.

  • @Nreeks81 FL Studio Is Hot But I Think Reason Gives U More Control.

  • @m1ent more control? like what?

  • Hot Track... Sample Is Nuts..

  • @Nreeks81 If you want to use an MPD26 with something I would recommend reason5, ableton, or logic. They have great interface set ups and they all locate the device for you. FL has a unique set up that I dont feel that would justify your MPD26.

  • awesome stuff man your killing it, would you recommend getting the mpd 24 or 26? also what software are you using?, tremendous stuff

  • @safestbearhugs thanks man, I would recommend getting an MPD 32. I use Reason 4.0 with Recycle and Audacity to chop up the samples.

  • Mr. Aj I like your videos that you are making. I have always wanted to work on an MPC or MPD I mess around with them here and there at music stores but never took the time to understand them. You make it seem so easy. You have any advice for future producers? Thanks. Oh, and I especially like the samples (sampling process) you use.

  • that's pretty catchy... what's with the cup of puke though?

  • Does anyone know the sample I would love to know its so sweet?

  • you know what i hate ?

    haters like docmaple8!

do you know how the first hiphop beat were ?

yeeha!, they where samples of other songs, so if something is hiphop it is sampling !

  • god damn, i watch this like every damn day bro!

  • this is pretty good man

  • This beat is nice. Nice work

  • this too sick. your bringing hip hop back keep doing your thing

  • Good beat mann I like this mann!!!

  • peace AJ. I´ve already bought this great thing but I can´t understand how could I get samples in it. Can you help me in a few sentences or it´s so difficult like it seems to me. Thx

  • the mpd24 isnt and mpc so u cant put sounds into it. if u do already kno this is sugest u buy a seqeuncer (i suggest fl studio to start off and then reason) after u do tht find a tutorial for making beats for fpc and their u hav it i would tell u in a comment but my letters will expire. if u kno all this sry for wasting ur time. :)

  • This is dope, keep it up bro...

  • i dont even have a mpd or mpc. i just used my keyboard and a mouse. Go to my page to see it.

  • yo. this is dope. i did somthin to lion king.

  • im almost positive this has been asked, but why the wristband?

  • niceley done

  • Great Job!

  • how'd u get that cool video border?

  • sony vegas

  • @xxdjajxx vegas 8 is where its at!

  • How did you chop the sample onto the 16 pads ?_? i just bought a mpd 24.

i agree with the everyone about the haters.

music is art,you dont like it ,move along.

  • whys every1 hatin on this? lol. good shit xxdjaxx im feelin it

  • Man you really rule on that Akai mdp!

Fuck all those haters writing shit!

  • Weird! That's what I thought of your beat...that's it? Do you do live performances with the mpd and a comp?

  • Lol! Your comebacks are like your beats...lame!!!! I will give credit on the mpd though nice piece of equipment!!!!

  • that's it?

  • What's up with the sweat band on the fingers? Hairy palms? Man all you did was sample the song and reply it!

  • all you did was suck my dick and choke on it. Cheers

  • are you a holistic beat maker?

  • Comment removed

  • hey yo thats hip hop if you go back to the first of all hip hop music even before it was called hip hop it was all about playing instrument breaks of records so people could dance to it

    therefore BREAKdance

  • So what? Yeah, people played records. And yeah, people danced to it. What the people who played those records didn't do is say, "hey, check out this beat I made" because they didn't make it. They played it.

I know people are gonna hate, but I'm entitled to my own opinion. And my opinion is that taking samples, especially an entire song like this, and especially without giving credit to the original creator, is stealing. Straight up. You didn't make it, so don't call it your own.

  • @DocMaple8 dude step off any hip hop video cause hip hop music IS sampling you cant understand

i dindnt said it was ok cause its hip hop

i just said WE dont give a fuck

  • Well it's a good thing I don't give a shit what you and your posse of "beatmakers" thinks...

    Keep it real homey.

  • @DocMaple8 idk personally i think its cool to sample stuff but i prefer if they dont do it all the time.

  • Not impressive or original

  • this is wack...

  • Yeah.. real predictable!!

  • after checking out your beats, I'm glad that I'm not the only one that sucks. Thanks man

  • thnks for checkin em out

  • it's all about the soul samples!

  • no dis or nothing man i love yo stuff. its banging, but like all yo beats sound the same, like it all of them u made sounds the same

  • cool beat! but put your sweatband out of your fingers!

  • ya whats with that lol

  • my middle finger sweats a lot. If I ever see you I'll let you smell it

  • hahaha good one ahaha

  • Had my head bobbin,

    Keep doin you bruh.

  • sounds good i love the sample

  • nice beat man ... loving the feel, I personally prefer the padKongtrol just for the feel and they have nice big pads which helps for live.

  • Comment removed

  • PadKONTROL is much better, trust me - I wanted to an MPD 24 - I went to the store and 3 experts has recomended me to by a PadKONTROL. I tried to play both at the store and the Korg's controller really did feel better

  • I like this beat, dude.

    Keep it up.

  • Clean beat man, Is there any way you can get the instrumental to me? I'd like to spit to it

  • Good shitty

  • to repetitive my main, try not to repeat notes

  • CHOOOOOPS!!!!!!!

  • is this one good for hardstyle, techno and trance? - i never got what this is used for, anyone please could explain?

  • i ordered one of those and should be coming anyday now. Is there something else i need to by to make beats too. I will probly use samples from records. Do i need to by one of those dr. dre beat cards or kanye sample cards for this machine.

  • what does quantize mean?

  • quantize is a feature that is available in most DAW applications that allows you to make sure that your beats are not off. It comes in handy if you are recording a drum sequence and there are a few hits that are off. You can just select the pattern that you recorded, hit the quantize button and then everything is on time. You also determine how granular the quantize feature is (i.e. one bar, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, and 1/64th

  • can i do a track to this bro..

  • the track has already been sold with exclusive rights

  • Comment removed

  • re you from the qc lol I just saw your sloche bottle lol

props for your beats they nice

  • DOPE KEEP IT UP

  • good shit i love when my people keep it hip hop word stay up my dude i be there soon. I have my korg m3 61 keyboard on layaway now

  • how do you chop your samples ?

did you chop the slices manually how you needed them or did you for example set every 1/4 th bar a slice or something ?

  • sometimes I do a combination of both. I generally use a program like Audacity to chop up a total of 4 bars (each of the 4 bars can come from different sections of the song or songs that you are sampling from). From Audacity I save the 4-bar sample/samples as a wave file and then from there I open it up in Recycle and chop it up. If you have 4 bars and you chop everything up evenly across the 16 pads, then you pretty much have one beat per pad

  • thx ill try that

  • yo man. does the mpd 24 come with sounds in it or is it just a controlle and you need to hook it up to a computer?

  • its a midi controller that I hooked up to my computer. I am using with a program called Reason

  • its just a midi controller. you need a midi brain(computer program) to get the sounds

  • extrem fein !

  • can i hook this up to 2 turntables and a mixer? get back to me on my page thanks!!!

  • what do you want to use the controller for?

  • Isnt this a midi controller?? ...So how the hell do u sample?? ... By da way, it was real dope homie!!

  • I was using it with software, Reason

  • fuckin hot!!!

    Big up from Portugal!!

    Jonny

  • very nice

  • love it!

  • where is everyone getting their samples? I got my akai mpd24 today

  • youtube bro!! get yoself a youtube downloader. or just buy oldskool records in the store and chopp em all in equal pieces and just play with it!

  • yeah man find your own samples be original. thats all part of the game.

  • LOVE THIS SONG MAN!!!THX!!!

  • Can the MPD toggle a loop (so that the sample from one trigger is playing all over again till you stop it trough another hit)??

  • yeah I think you can do that with an NNXT sampler

  • cant wait to get my mpd 24 :D

  • better off with the mpd 32.. da 24 is a little old already but its still amazing

  • Anyone know how to cut the pads off so they don't overlap.

    Know what I'm saying?

  • if you are using the dr. rex loop player or any other sampler in reason then change the polyphony setting to 1

  • can you show me how to lay what your playing on reason and how you quantize the drums and what parameters you use.

  • Nina Simones' "Don't You Pay Them No Mind"

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • thanks

  • yo man can you teach me how to make insane beats like yours? I am desperate on making beats. I wanna know how, the things I need...and all that...

    thanks

  • Mad respect for that NINA SIMONE sample, SWEET!!! Keep reppin'

  • what song is it from?

  • very good. peace.

  • that flip is WAY too good man!!! keep up!

  • Thanks for the inspiration, going to pick myself up an MPD24 as I already have Abelton

  • keep bringin' that good music, we're listening man!!!

  • DOPE!

  • his beats are so good dont you all agree with me

  • this is awesome man! fantastic! tell me, do you get any program within the box to sample and make beats with? or what do you use? once again, good work and keep on doin this. ILL!

  • its just a midi controller, no sounds, and you need a program like reason, ableton, or fl studio

  • basically get yourself cubase, sampletank 2 and sonik synth and with mpd24 you can't go wrong it will be just like the mpc, only it's a midi controller so just like dude said u wont get no sound out of it unless u use it with a software. the software comes in handy because u can dump all your samples in there as well as drum kits and u can make whatever beat comes to mind. with great ease. i just recently purchased the mpd24 and i love it. now i just need to get the proper software.

  • i get it. tnx a lot!

  • no doubt glad to be of any help.

  • Really, there is good

  • this is sick. ive been thinking about buying an mpd24, how do you like it?

  • go with the mpd32, it has the note repeat feature and an external time sync. I love the MPD series, its the best

  • yo how did u sync ur mpd24 to exact touch?

  • If you are asking about the latency, I installed ASIO drivers on my windows computer

  • cool

ima go get the drivers for that then

  • this is an ill beat man keep this up

  • what's with these people?

bet you anything they can't make anything close to this..losers.

    nice beat man.

  • never heard of Jay Dee? You f** kidding me? hahahahahaaahhahahahahaha, dude jay dee is tenthousand times the producer that this guy is

  • thought you didn't like it the first time, why you back?

  • i still don't like it what the fuck are you talking about

  • maybe one of these days you can post a beat. you must be really good...I'll be waiting.

  • Lol, word, what fiveagainstone said.

  • what the fuck are you doing? you're doing the whole annoying voice repeating thing, who the hell is gonna rap to that? it's shit! go look for an instrumental sample jesus christ

  • I guess you've never heard of Jay Dee.

  • didn't know that it was mandatory to sample instrumentals.

  • wata fuckin idiot. lmao. "sampling voices!"

  • idiot? at least my beats don't sound like diarea

  • oh really? where are your beats at?

  • thats sik ma dude hiphop 4eva!!!

  • So fuckin fun to watch and hear. Hope you work with big name rappers soon. I am a huge fan or Premo, RZA, Tru Master, Mathematics and 9th Wonder and you are in line to achieve their staus.

  • fucking awsome

  • whats that sample?

  • Great Beat man. but hey i have a question. do you know the difference between the MPD24 and the MPD32. Because i can't chose between the two. what do you suggest?

  • mpd 32 got more buttons. check out the akai website via google..

  • mpd32 also got note repeat function :)

  • Fantastic!!!! It's your videos that have convinced me to get an mpd.

  • can u make a video on how to get ur reason to play like a mpc. are those buttons at the bottom left hand side and the 3rd nob? there arent any virtual mpc tutorials using reason at all..

  • overall, a nice beat. but the the drum loop is a little bit boring and the samples are way too clean. sounds like they're from an 80s drum machine ...

you could have at least added some open hihats, percussions and a compressor for more flow.

  • Could you please tell me how you loaded the song sample into your MPD? I cant figure it out.

  • there is a good website that gives tutorials on how to do this stuff. Its called 3rdstopdotcom.

  • hi, nice beats :) do you think mpd24 is better than trigger finger?

  • the mpd is better, a lot more solid, more knobs and more faders.

  • I'm getting an MPD 24 soon...this was some true inspiration I make house but I still love that high quality hip hop and you absolutely smashed that one...!!!

  • SOUNDS GOOD MANE!!

  • Hey man, that was really really good altogether. I have been using reason for years, and recycle even longer and have never ever thought to play rex files this way...absolutely enlightening.

Do you mind a quick question. When you have a loop sliced up and can trigger each part via the pads, does a single slice play the whole way through when you trigger it or does it immediately stop once you trigger the next one, allowing you to avoid the two playing over each other.

    Again, much kudos

  • the samples play all the way through and they don't overlap. All you have to do is go to the front of the Dr Rex loop player and move the Release fader in the amp envelope section all the way up and then change the polyphony to 1. You now have a virtual MPC. Best of luck and thanks for checking out the video

  • what did you use to slice the samples??

  • recycle

  • whats the name of this song u used?

  • damn that shits hot son! you sampling guys amaze me hehehe

  • iced starbucks coffee! :D

  • you gifted punk

nall im jus playn u got the beat posted?

  • thanks man, got some new beats comin out soon. Peace.

  • yeeeeah, i like this shiiit....big sample....

  • man . plz name of this song coase its great
