This is such an unequivocally bullshit ending that I genuinely feel bad for anyone still playing, much less anyone that actually enjoys any aspect of lore or raiding.
How does Nozdormu Lose his powers?? when Aman'Thul, the Highfather of the Pantheon, bestowed a portion of his cosmic power upon the massive bronze dragon Nozdormu. The Highfather empowered him to guard time itself and police the ever-spinning pathways of fate and destiny Deathwing's Death shouldn't be the end of that task given to him. otherwise Someone else can come along and start fucking up time and basically murder the story or is that blizzards plan to create newer content.

The Age of Mortals reference leads me to believe that Blizzard's next MMO or future Warcraft game will take place many, many years after the events of WoW.
So, riddle me this Blizzard. If the Dragon Aspects have no power anymore, how the hell will the Caverns of Time still work? Sure is throwing out good old instances for crappy new ones.

@IrisCorven Because there is a story separation between the *real* azerothian timeline, and the in game timeline. When we go to visit the caverns of time in game to run the instances we "go back in time". If you were somehow able to move your character forward to the tanaris desert *after* the events of the dragon soul raid, the caverns of time entrance probably wouldn't be there anymore. Or at the very least the time ways would have collapsed without nozdormu to sustain them.
Funny how we see Dalaran on this cinematic....Dalaran was the WotLK sanctuary and Blizz should have put a new Sanctuary/Hub for both faction toons to co-exist,but the didn't.And so we must STILL go to Northrend if we do not want to be in tha Capital City...which is kinda lame
So.. A lot of people are complaining about this, and I can see why, lore that some of us have been following for years is being torn to shreds infront of us, looking at pages of comments I can see a lot of people don't understand fully, because they haven't bothered to read up lore, or they just don't care about it. Imo, the game isn't "broken" they can still fix this, who knows, maybe the titans will come back and 'recharge' the aspects, we'll have to wait and see, there's still potential.
@VirtualTape Well that's the good thing about MoP in my opinion. It has a chance to rewrite lore. The Pandaren Island is said to have a box there similar to the Pandora's Box which contains some sort of essence or power by the Old Gods or the Burning Legion or etc.
@BambooDragon16 That isnt confirmed, thats just speculation cos the setting of Pandaria fits sort of with the Cthulhu, Lovecraft stuff that blizzard uses for it's Old Gods lore etc. Shrouded in mist etc etc

Blizzard impressed more before with the Illidan Ending and the Arthas Ending. But this ending? It's short. It didn't feel special. It felt just like another day. Definitely not as epic as the story should have been.

@Runenschuppe Yeah but Tirion Fordring didn't lose his power when Arthas was defeated.The aspects great purpose was to defend the world against the old gods for all time.They were the safe guard the titans put in place.In all logic without them we should be completely fucked.Blizzard just changed the lore from what they previously stated.They also made a time paradox with Nozdormu.
I think the reason the number of dislikes is higher is because Blizz is taking out a very good chunk of lore and replacing it with the Pandaren in MoP which had Almost(keyword) no relevance up until this MoP. It doesnt make sense that the dragons no longer have powers because Deathwing was not their task to kill(they didnt know hed go insane). They are to preserve and protect. Seeing how all threats to Azeroth are not gone(N'zoth, Sargaeras etc) it doesnt make sense they lose their immortality.
@911TVify I mean they did charge the dragon soul before and they didnt lose their immortality. And it seems strange that they would lose immortality due to just overcharging the Dragon Soul. If anything they shoulda just collapsed from exhaustion.

@RhymeFang93 Wrong on so many levels. No lore was taken out. Pandaria is new lore, not a replacement. The task of the dragon aspects was not to destroy Deathwing, but to halt the Hour of Twilight, which began back in vanilla WoW with the Gates of Ahn'qiraj. You're welcome.

Pandaren have existed since WC3 ever since the April fools joke to put them in game. And after they were a big hit Blizz has worked on a functioning lore for them. Please do not simply play WOW and then think you know all there is to the lore.
@RhymeFang93 I don't think it was meant in a way, that they were destinied to, but they had to spend their powers to destroy Deathwing, or so. As for the remaining threats, mortals have shown to be able to destroy most of them by themselves (Old Gods too, C'thun, Yogg-Saron, so N'zoth should be doable as well), and Sargeras is already dead, or at least has no body, since Medivh's mother killed him, then he lost the body he was posessing, when Medivh was killed.
@demoneq Ah I know what your'e talking about.But im pretty sure Sargaeras isnt dead. The thing that Medivh's mother killed was believed to be Sargaeas but know the front-running belief is that is was some Avatar of Sargaeras, something he made to manifest him but wasnt truly him. Also when Broxigar wounded Sargaeras' leg in the War of the Ancients it mentioned he was the "only mortal" to have ever wounded him. Also in WOW Kil'Jaeden refers to his master Sargaeras, meaning he must be alive since.
@demoneq (post too long) the fight with Kil'Jaeden was many years after Sargaeras supposed demise. So im pretty sure hes still alive just out in the twisting nether somewhere. Also you forget the mortals had help with Yogg-Saron by the gaurdians of Ulduar which are also creations of the Titans. C'thun is like the exception....idk maybe he sucked lol jk. But in theory there should be another Old God we havent seen other than N'zoth. Because according to the War of the Ancients Trilogy there were

Though my theory is, that he's sort of like Sauron in LotR movie, having no body, and only "spirit" somewhere in Twisting Nether, thus not really able to do anything directly. As for the dragon Aspects and their losing of power, well, no idea beyond what I have already said/wrote.

However I think he does truly have a body because he used to be a Titan of the Pantheon and they all have bodies. And im not sure if you need a massive power source such as the well of eternity to summon in a spirit whereas you probably would for some hundred stories high being of power.
@RhymeFang93 Assuming Wowpedia is right (I just went to check), he lost his body during the War of the Ancients (that surprised me too, is it a retcon?), and only existed in spirit before posessing Medivh. So I guess he'd have to posess some new body, not as powerful as his original one (or if so, we'd need the help of the original Titans), and that could be WoW's final boss. (look up "Sargeras" and "First invasion of Azeroth" and "Aegwynn & Medivh" paragraphs), I can't paste links.

@Ealija True about Azshara. However, Mal'ganis is one of the few dreadlords that is dead though. Frostmourne rips the soul from the body so when Arthas killed him he wasnt just banished like Balnazaar was.

Pandaren are coming around in the next expansion being unearthed by the Cataclysm, Thrall's heightened senses with the earth detected the large turtle that the Pandaren ride on the back of, but it is "shrouded by mist". Now Pandaren were involved in WC3 so no, Blizzard isn't pulling stuff out of their ass, so quit complaining about that. And what is going to happen on Pandaria? Well that's a mystery all it's own, "Shrouded in Mist." Good job Blizzard, I can't wait to see what happens next.
Ha,Blizzard lost so much subscribers because they started keep destroying the lore and things starting to not make sense with pandas as our trump card. Now they're taking away the Dragon Aspects, the figures that made Warcraft lore at its best with the war of the Ancients. They even had to be desperate and spent so much money on advertisement where they put in Chuck Norris finally after 7 years on their commercials.

All dragons are immortal. I think you are mixing it up with invulnerable. All dragons can be killed, they just arent suppose to die of old age.

@TehPervies The Dragon Aspects EXPENDED their powers, with the fight involving Deathwing, The Dragon Aspects put in a huge portion of their power into the Dragon Soul every time Thrall charges and fires it. That's why Deathwing was so powerful in the first place, he didn't invest any of his power into it. Thrall left the Horde because he never wanted to be a leader in the first place, it says this in the quest where he becomes split among elements, he just wanted a family. He gave--
@TehPervies Garrosh leadership because he though an charismatic, fully fledged orc/veteran of Northrend, of true orcish blood as well, would make a good leader of the horde, for the Horde to be under the wing of someone with a lot of charisma would lead the Horde to victory in tough times. Now while we don't like him, the Horde does I believe, some factions don't (almost all), but Garrosh must grow into the reins of leadership. He just showed potential with his background in check.--

It wasn't really that cool, and now the 4 major dragon aspects are now mortal. People were comparing this to the lich king cinematic which was pretty epic and also longer. It just feels like Blizzard could have done so much better knowing what they're capable of.

@TheDezmona Main Purpose could be easily misinterpreted, After Deathwing became evil, the Aspects "great purpose" could easily be one of their great purposes and they drain their power from siphoning into the dragon soul, that is why Deathwing was so powerful, and they became mortal from draining all the power, putting it into the dragon soul. MoP is the PVP expansion, hence "Age of Mortals" WoW is only going to get better. The Pandaren have been in Warcraft since forever and the pet battle system is just to give your currently useless pets some added functionality. The MAIN thing though is PVP, but the company likes their surprises to stay secret, which I thought was a good idea until we saw subscriptions falling...
I think I just need Blizzcon tickets. Maybe Ill get to ask the dev one question "Can you please explain this bs of an ending for cataclysm?" Seems no one here and truly explain it. One tried but when I questioned it I got no response :(. I am simply confused on how this works out. Because from what I know. This ending is terrible. Except Thrall being daddy but that's insignificant to the problem of where they are going with this game.

How does Nozdormu Lose his powers?? when Aman'Thul, the Highfather of the Pantheon, bestowed a portion of his cosmic power upon the massive bronze dragon Nozdormu. The Highfather empowered him to guard time itself and police the ever-spinning pathways of fate and destiny Deathwing's Death shouldn't be the end of that task given to him. otherwise Someone else can come along and start fucking up time and basically murder the story or is that blizzards plan to create newer content.

@IrisCorven The Caverns of Time were not created by Nozdormu, merely protected by him. That was the task set upon the bronze dragonflight by the titans.

@IrisCorven Because there is a story separation between the *real* azerothian timeline, and the in game timeline. When we go to visit the caverns of time in game to run the instances we "go back in time". If you were somehow able to move your character forward to the tanaris desert *after* the events of the dragon soul raid, the caverns of time entrance probably wouldn't be there anymore. Or at the very least the time ways would have collapsed without nozdormu to sustain them.

So.. A lot of people are complaining about this, and I can see why, lore that some of us have been following for years is being torn to shreds infront of us, looking at pages of comments I can see a lot of people don't understand fully, because they haven't bothered to read up lore, or they just don't care about it. Imo, the game isn't "broken" they can still fix this, who knows, maybe the titans will come back and 'recharge' the aspects, we'll have to wait and see, there's still potential.

@VirtualTape Well that's the good thing about MoP in my opinion. It has a chance to rewrite lore. The Pandaren Island is said to have a box there similar to the Pandora's Box which contains some sort of essence or power by the Old Gods or the Burning Legion or etc.

@Runenschuppe Yeah but Tirion Fordring didn't lose his power when Arthas was defeated.The aspects great purpose was to defend the world against the old gods for all time.They were the safe guard the titans put in place.In all logic without them we should be completely fucked.Blizzard just changed the lore from what they previously stated.They also made a time paradox with Nozdormu.

I think the reason the number of dislikes is higher is because Blizz is taking out a very good chunk of lore and replacing it with the Pandaren in MoP which had Almost(keyword) no relevance up until this MoP. It doesnt make sense that the dragons no longer have powers because Deathwing was not their task to kill(they didnt know hed go insane). They are to preserve and protect. Seeing how all threats to Azeroth are not gone(N'zoth, Sargaeras etc) it doesnt make sense they lose their immortality.

@RhymeFang93 I don't think it was meant in a way, that they were destinied to, but they had to spend their powers to destroy Deathwing, or so. As for the remaining threats, mortals have shown to be able to destroy most of them by themselves (Old Gods too, C'thun, Yogg-Saron, so N'zoth should be doable as well), and Sargeras is already dead, or at least has no body, since Medivh's mother killed him, then he lost the body he was posessing, when Medivh was killed.

The thing that Medivh's mother killed was believed to be Sargaeas but know the front-running belief is that is was some Avatar of Sargaeras, something he made to manifest him but wasnt truly him. Also when Broxigar wounded Sargaeras' leg in the War of the Ancients it mentioned he was the "only mortal" to have ever wounded him. Also in WOW Kil'Jaeden refers to his master Sargaeras, meaning he must be alive since.

Also you forget the mortals had help with Yogg-Saron by the gaurdians of Ulduar which are also creations of the Titans. C'thun is like the exception....idk maybe he sucked lol jk. But in theory there should be another Old God we havent seen other than N'zoth. Because according to the War of the Ancients Trilogy there were

Though my theory is, that he's sort of like Sauron in LotR movie, having no body, and only "spirit" somewhere in Twisting Nether, thus not really able to do anything directly. However I think he does truly have a body because he used to be a Titan of the Pantheon and they all have bodies. And im not sure if you need a massive power source such as the well of eternity to summon in a spirit whereas you probably would for some hundred stories high being of power.

@RhymeFang93 Assuming Wowpedia is right (I just went to check), he lost his body during the War of the Ancients (that surprised me too, is it a retcon?), and only existed in spirit before posessing Medivh. So I guess he'd have to posess some new body, not as powerful as his original one (or if so, we'd need the help of the original Titans), and that could be WoW's final boss. (look up "Sargeras" and "First invasion of Azeroth" and "Aegwynn & Medivh" paragraphs), I can't paste links.

Pandaren are coming around in the next expansion being unearthed by the Cataclysm, Thrall's heightened senses with the earth detected the large turtle that the Pandaren ride on the back of, but it is "shrouded by mist". Now Pandaren were involved in WC3 so no, Blizzard isn't pulling stuff out of their ass, so quit complaining about that. And what is going to happen on Pandaria? Well that's a mystery all it's own, "Shrouded in Mist." Good job Blizzard, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Now they're taking away the Dragon Aspects, the figures that made Warcraft lore at its best with the war of the Ancients. All dragons are immortal. I think you are mixing it up with invulnerable. All dragons can be killed, they just arent suppose to die of old age.

@TehPervies The Dragon Aspects EXPENDED their powers, with the fight involving Deathwing, The Dragon Aspects put in a huge portion of their power into the Dragon Soul every time Thrall charges and fires it. That's why Deathwing was so powerful in the first place, he didn't invest any of his power into it. Thrall left the Horde because he never wanted to be a leader in the first place, it says this in the quest where he becomes split among elements, he just wanted a family. He gave--

@TehPervies Garrosh leadership because he though an charismatic, fully fledged orc/veteran of Northrend, of true orcish blood as well, would make a good leader of the horde, for the Horde to be under the wing of someone with a lot of charisma would lead the Horde to victory in tough times. Now while we don't like him, the Horde does I believe, some factions don't (almost all), but Garrosh must grow into the reins of leadership. He just showed potential with his background in check.--

@Mazzah96 I agree with you on people instantly disliking everything blizzard puts out. But, I can see it in this cinematic. It wasn't really that cool, and now the 4 major dragon aspects are now mortal. People were comparing this to the lich king cinematic which was pretty epic and also longer. It just feels like Blizzard could have done so much better knowing what they're capable of.

@korashable i agree but if u look at it they are already stretching for ideas with MoP, dont get me wrong its about time they showed the fan favorites from the Warcraft RTS some love, and they prolly realized that WoW will end soon, when cataclysm came out they saw the biggest drop in subscriptions EVER and with all the bullshit people are giving them over Mop it will prolly drop even more, so this ending actually works its liek in a book series once its run dry, gotta kill everybody off.

@TheDezmona Main Purpose could be easily misinterpreted, After Deathwing became evil, the Aspects "great purpose" could easily be one of their great purposes and they drain their power from siphoning into the dragon soul, that is why Deathwing was so powerful, and they became mortal from draining all the power, putting it into the dragon soul. And that hole last sentence I read eating food so thx bra.

@Mazzah96 I dont think its that they dislike the game. Its just they dislike what Blizzard is doing with it. Like Honestly I hated this dragon soul ending. And I did like the Pandaren in WC3 so MoP may be good. Idk yet. Im just saying that the other, older lore is being trashed which is why I was one of the many dislikes. I still play the game though.

MoP is the PVP expansion, hence "Age of Mortals" WoW is only going to get better. The Pandaren have been in Warcraft since forever and the pet battle system is just to give your currently useless pets some added functionality. The MAIN thing though is PVP, but the company likes their surprises to stay secret, which I thought was a good idea until we saw subscriptions falling...

I think I just need Blizzcon tickets. Maybe Ill get to ask the dev one question "Can you please explain this bs of an ending for cataclysm?" Seems no one here and truly explain it. One tried but when I questioned it I got no response :(. I am simply confused on how this works out. Because from what I know. This ending is terrible. Except Thrall being daddy but that's insignificant to the problem of where they are going with this game.
