You don't have to win a ring to be in the HOF true. But you need to have been an MVP type player for more than half your career. Not neccesarily MVP, but in consideration type. Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing or HOF's with no rings. Barkley was an MVP though, and Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and Dirk Nowistki will be HOF's with no rings. They're still playing, but I can't see any of them winning a ring unless they except far less money and join an elite team that they could have chemistry with.
