My Grandparents were from Amite county and my grandfather drove Jerry Clower to school on his schoolbus. My aunt Mildred Causey Campbell lived across the highway from his place near East fork. I loved that man!

i loved this guys comedy. i was deeply saddend when i heard he had passed. during my teen years i would listen to his comedy tapes every night. my favorites were when he talked about coon hunting , living in southern ohio i owned a black & tan coon hound and went hunting so i felt we had something in common. my favorite tape was "dogs i have know". oh the memories this has brought back.

Growing up as a child, I had two comedy tapes that I claimed as my own. First was a semi-censored version of Bill Cosby's "Himself" and second was a four part set of the best of Jerry Clower. I would listen to the Cosby one fairly often but nine out of ten times, if you started up my mother's car you would hear this guy's deep southern drawl. I even remember going to work with my dad because he was a motivational speaker for the company retreat. Truely a great one.

i am 48 yrs old and met Mr Clower in Atlanta's Hartsfield airport one day. He walked up and sat down next to me and started talking like we were old friends. A true southern gentleman and one of the great comedians of all time. They dont make comedians like this anymore. Some of his jokes can be just a little risque but no vulgarity.

I am 30 y/o and had never heard of this gentleman. But while listening to satellite radio in my car I heard him. Laffed so hard I almost cried. Just the mention of the names Versey Ledbetter and Marcel, etc. was enough to make me chuckle out loud. I thought he was a new comedian on the scene. Oddly, while trying to locate his CD's I discovered that he had been well known for many years and was now deceased. I am a fan and enjoy his hilarious,"clean" and folksy humor.

I am a forty-three year old black man from a town called Ozark Alabama. I now reside in California but I remember growing up in Ozark listening to Mr. Clower.
