I've known this person for almost 30 years. This isn't bullshit. He wasn't lying.

He had a breakdown.

He's got a great life now. He's got a good job and he travels the world. In his teens and twenties he was one of the popular and charismatic guys in our circle. He remains one of my most intellectual friends.
