@Darmo48Assyrian In all respect, I understand what you are saying, but look at it from our point of view. The flag was developed by Assyrian Universal Alliance (AUA). That organization and the people involved in creating the flag and shaping Assyrian nationalism were Eastern Assyrians from Iraq, even the person who designed the flag (from Iran). Not one single western assyrian (Syriac) from turkey was involved in that process. How can Syriacs embrace a flag that doesn't even care about them?

@Darmo48Assyrian Also, during the 60's, when the flag had been developed, Assyrian nationalism was about Iraq this, Iraq that, it always revolved around Eastern Assyrians, even international attention. We got thrown to the side while the spot light was on you guys. Soon enough Syriacs (Western Assyrians) became fed up with this, and so developed their own identity. You have to understand that Eastern Assyrians also caused the division when they equaled their church with Assyrian identity

@Darmo48Assyrian In conclusion, there will never be unity, because of the actions of eastern assyrians, you made it all about yourselves, "We live on the ancient land" or "Assyrians come from northern Iraq". Even the first national anthem that was developed was in Eastern Assyrian, so you see, the AUA imposed a flag on us that they never even bothered to ask if we liked it or not. I don't mean to be rude, but you guys brought this on yourselves
