I just feel like women want it both ways. women always tell men they dont liek shorter men, under 5'10 , or they dont like out of shape men. or something they dont like light skin men. BUT WE BLACK MEN HAVE TO TOTALLY 100% ACCEPT BLACK WOMEN NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK=BULL CRAP. i have had black women say i was way too dark, i was heavy, i was ugly this and that, i had a big nose.but black women want men to accept them any way they are FUCK THAT. I don't mind loosing it faster because most likely I'll need surgery regardless ( I had a baby, so I have tons of stretchmarks all over, which I know doesn't happen to everyone who has a kid, but it happened to me).
@MrszRenaissance Not necessarily. Losing the weight slowly and toning with weights while losing weight can help your body bounce back into shape or into a shape you've never known. Also slowly losing weight helps to guarantee that it'll stay off. Lots of people have lost dramatic weight and had little to no loose skin because they did it properly. It'll even help your stretch marks if you tone the stomach. Plus, you could save yourself LOADS of money.
I am a new subbie. I love your hair and your weightloss journey is truly amazing. I have lost about 75lbs so far. I have 65 more to go. so needless to say I do and will have a lot of extra skin!! It sucks but its reminder of what I did to my body. Keep up the awesome work!

Also, let's not forget GENETICS which plays a role in each person's skin elasticity. Example: some women give birth and lose the baby bump/belly flab in no time, sometimes a matter of a few short weeks and others will still have the stretched out skin that will never stretch back. Same with stretch marks-genetics plays a role.

Would you recommend lifting in the beginning of the weight-loss? I am doing cardio but I havent started lifting because of fear of getting bulky. FYI i've only lost about 8 lbs and have 90 more to go.
@trendsettingBrit Yes! you will lose the weight much faster. Try doing free weight exercises and cardio in 30 second intervals for about 30 minutes... you will burn sooo much and be drenched in sweat.

Do weights for 30 secs then switch to cardio for 30 secs? Or combine them? If you are talking about combining them what are some example exercises? Thank you for replying ;0)
@trendsettingBrit Youre welcome.Yes thats what I mean Do weights for 30 seconds (moves such as lateral raises, bicep curls, and squats/lunges) and then switch to high intensity cardio (such as running in place, jumping jacks, and mountain climbers) And do this (perferably nonstop) for about 25-30 minutes

i'm losing it slowly that's for sure. from 280 to 197 in a year and a half, but it hasn't been steady. I lose a little then stop. not purposely and that's what sucks.
Hi I've been doing yoga for the last two years and have seen great improvements in my toning. I haven't done Pilates since last year, and I rarely do cardio. But yoga has made such a difference. I'm just not crazy about the chanting though.

There are tons of weightloss articles and tv shows that make it sound like dropping 5+ pounds a week is a piece of cake and that's what everyone should be doing. I'm looking at a 130 weightloss journey and at the end of the week, when I see that I've lost 1 or 2 pounds I feel discouraged; like I didn't work hard enough, so thank you for being honest and encouraging. When I watch your videos I feel like I can take my time and do this.

I am losing weight 1 to 2 pounds a week and now 4 months and 40 pounds later people think I took some magic pill which is crazy. I eat right and workout 6 days a week there is no magic to a lifestyle change. Great info

I have lost 26 lbs but, I have about 120 to go.... I swear all these years of not doing anything about it is because I didn't want sagging skin. I am 25yrs old now and I learned after 2 daughters (5yrs & 2yrs) , I need to stay positive and get in shape because they look up to me and tell me that I am beautiful EVERYDAY! I love them so much and I want for my babies to continue to be proud of me.

I never struggled with weight but trust me after my son I had a reality check..I had to change my thinking. 1)Dont' look for quick fix 2) change my eating(not starving urself) 3) exercise (baby steps) 4) join a weight loss community 5) make sure you colon is super healthy etc etc ...so you are so right inn this video..
I'm having this issue with my tummy skin after my 2nd child. I'm trying to tone as much as I can, drink lots of water and I moisturize my damp skin with shea butter. So far it's been helping. During my pregnancy I also made sure to moisturize my skin ALL OVER very well. People often just moisturize their arms and legs but you have other skin too people! LOL So I guess this goes for people planning to lose weight too. Moisturizing helped me a lot. THANKS for sharing this!
@AfroTee If anyone's interested there is an $80 cream called TrislasinSR, which is for stretch marks, but it also really helped with firming up my skin after my 1st baby (I don't use it now b/c I am nursing). It's expensive but it really worked.
i think that flabby skin after Alot of weight loss is gentic. i also think that AGEEEE has alot to do with it. if ur younger ur skin will probably snap back alot faster. (dunno if u said that in the video) i think its great u lost so much weight. keep being healthy!

i'm losing it slowly that's for sure. from 280 to 197 in a year and a half, but it hasn't been steady. I lose a little then stop. not purposely and that's what sucks.

What are your thoughts or feelings regarding Pilates or Yoga for toning? Have you tried either?

Hi I've been doing yoga for the last two years and have seen great improvements in my toning. I haven't done Pilates since last year, and I rarely do cardio. But yoga has made such a difference. I'm just not crazy about the chanting though.

Nina, thank you, I'm so glad you made this video! There are tons of weightloss articles and tv shows that make it sound like dropping 5+ pounds a week is a piece of cake and that's what everyone should be doing. I'm looking at a 130 weightloss journey and at the end of the week, when I see that I've lost 1 or 2 pounds I feel discouraged; like I didn't work hard enough, so thank you for being honest and encouraging. When I watch your videos I feel like I can take my time and do this.

I am losing weight 1 to 2 pounds a week and now 4 months and 40 pounds later people think I took some magic pill which is crazy. I eat right and workout 6 days a week there is no magic to a lifestyle change. Great info

I have lost 26 lbs but, I have about 120 to go.... I swear all these years of not doing anything about it is because I didn't want sagging skin. I am 25yrs old now and I learned after 2 daughters (5yrs & 2yrs) , I need to stay positive and get in shape because they look up to me and tell me that I am beautiful EVERYDAY! I love them so much and I want for my babies to continue to be proud of me.

@msalkapone09 I ordered mine off t.v, but you can also get it off the zumbia.com website. I was able to pick the DVD's I wanted in the packet and you get hand weights. I hope this helps.

Great video! I never struggled with weight but trust me after my son I had a reality check..I had to change my thinking. 1)Dont' look for quick fix 2) change my eating(not starving urself) 3) exercise (baby steps) 4) join a weight loss community 5) make sure you colon is super healthy etc etc ...so you are so right inn this video..

I'm having this issue with my tummy skin after my 2nd child. I'm trying to tone as much as I can, drink lots of water and I moisturize my damp skin with shea butter. So far it's been helping. During my pregnancy I also made sure to moisturize my skin ALL OVER very well. People often just moisturize their arms and legs but you have other skin too people! LOL So I guess this goes for people planning to lose weight too. Moisturizing helped me a lot. THANKS for sharing this!

@AfroTee If anyone's interested there is an $80 cream called TrislasinSR, which is for stretch marks, but it also really helped with firming up my skin after my 1st baby (I don't use it now b/c I am nursing). It's expensive but it really worked.

i think that flabby skin after Alot of weight loss is gentic. i also think that AGEEEE has alot to do with it. if ur younger ur skin will probably snap back alot faster. (dunno if u said that in the video) i think its great u lost so much weight. keep being healthy!
