  • holy crap everyones just standing there...snobby Seatleonians!!

  • I wish there were still concerts where you could get up on stage and rock with the band.

  • 1:09 ;)

  • RUSTY CAGEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • Its like Ben Sheppard has rechargeable batteries.... That you dont have to recharge

  • Anyone know what kind of Les Paul Chris is playing here?

  • @robpm9996 Les Paul Custom Silverburst.

  • SOUNDGARDEN ROCKS GREAT BAND..

  • Great!

  • That guy doing the weird chicken kick dance thing towards the beginning is the coolest guy ever.

  • okay so cameron has the ability to go out of 4/4 which i cant seem to ever recall dave grohl or dave abbruzzese ever doing .I'm not saying they're bad it could just be the guitarist not wanting to write odd times(which in my opinion is harder sometimes then writing in time). Theres no best drummer ever only favorite drummer. My favorites, in order Danny Carey, Matt Cameron, and John Bonham. No matter how good you are there will be somebody that can wipe the floor with you.

  • @slanderous19803

RE: Drummers. Sean Kinney is pretty fk'g good too.

    Remember Cozy Powell?

  • @SoCalDazed kinney definetly had his moments i just think he never laid down iconic grooves that you could pick out ie. jesus christ pose, like suicide, slaves and bulldozers intro stuff like that.

  • @slanderous19803 what about angry chair or again?

  • @jizzle313 ha you got me there. idk i guess i just prefer camerons style. i really like how he approaches songs as a "rock" drummer but his heavy jazz/hard bop influences leak right through the cracks.

  • @slanderous19803 I agree. This and Jesus Christ Pose are my 2 favorite SG songs mainly because of Matt's ability. He's a very talented guy and I'm constantly amazed by his work. I just had to speak on Kinney cause he's laid down some tight grooves imo like no excuses, god smack and head creeps.

  • @slanderous19803 Well, I think Grohl and Abbruzzese could easily go out of the 4/4, the point is Rusty Cage is 4/4 for most of the song, until the final part after the break, but Matt makes it sound like it's not... I'm trying to cover it on drums and it's very confusing! Surely there are better drummers in death metal (Gene Hoglan) or jazz (Carter Beauford) but, for what concerns rock, I think few people can be compared to Matt...

  • did you see that asshole junk 50 seconds through

  • it's so good these guys are back touring!! I'm waiting for the new album they're growing.

  • Is it just me or does Ben have really long arms?

  • So fuckin' badass.

  • aw, what pedals are those?

  • For the record, Ben Sheperd's equipment for this tour was a seventies Fender Jazz Bass assembled from various parts with Seymour Duncan pickups and a Badass bridge.

His amps were and cabinets were Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 series.

He used a Proco Rat distortion pedal on Searching with My Good Eye Closed, when he plucks the strings behind the nut.

  • sexy

  • ben shephard is the bassist btw...

  • Yeah to the bassist and drummer!

  • I play Rusty Cage in Drop D! Drop B is what bands like Slipknot and KillSwitch and Fear Factory use and Used occasionally. You can play the song in Drop B for sure though. And Danny Carey is an Insanely good drummer!!

  • i feel bad for the kids of today. back in the early 90s, metal was everywhere. i dont remember that much because i was little, but from what i do remember is that metal was as popular as hip hop or maybe even more. even the power rangers theme song was pure fucking metal, and it kicked ass!

  • lucky matt was the only one who didn't have to deal with retards.

  • Sorry I love soundgarden but this doesnt sound good live at all, the guitar sounds horrific!

  • Wow, the bands of the 90's. Ex.(Soundgarden, Alice in chains, and stone temple pilots.) are Pure talent!! We have no bands like this today... Just gay nickelback, blink 182, and stupid Justin bieber. The world might end in the near future...:(

  • great vid. you jump on my ass i'm stepping out the way.

  • ahh yes... the year i was born. a good year for music! 90's music all the way! fuck todays shit. almost all rap is bogus, same with most rock today. too many people just in it for the fame and money with no heart in their music. what happened to talent?

  • Ben was a great choice for the lowend here. Paul Hinklin for SadHappy should have got this gig. He was one of the best bassist in Seattle around this time as well.

  • Forget making a video, they should've just used this clip. Totally captures the energy of the song.

  • It's so hilarious how kids keep running up on the stage and dancing around. It doesn't even phase Kim :-D

  • this is talent!! I hope they make a world tour. My country needs to be graced with their presence.

  • dude his marvin martian shirt is just as awesome as his skillllz

  • how come nobody compliments Keith Moon?

  • @spartanwarrior340 He doesn't need it.

  • @kurtizzyflush Because he's too good to need it or he's not good enough to deserve it?

  • @spartanwarrior340 Moon was the best.

  • It's amazing that he can sing over this tune. The ending is switching back and forth from 3/4 time to 5/4 and he's playing guitar and singing over it. Great band, so glad they're back.

  • i hope no rainforest was harmed when the bass guitarist destroyed his bass guitar.

  • Love the people jumping on stage going nuts . Good for them having a blast.

  • Kim, you are my fucking guitar hero.

  • cameron can realy pound a kit.

  • im still amazed that cornell can belt out notes like that, while playing guitar.... guitar is difficult enough, singing like him fucking difficult.... playing and singing like him? damn!

  • Cameron has been wearing a Monster Magnet's T-shirt, cool!

  • Soundgarden and AIC were always the best of the bunch (imo).

  • bring back the 90's..

  • took awhile to get interesting

  • A true metal song... called grunge.....

  • The E string is dropped to a B.

  • SOUNDGARDEN IS WHERE ITS AT!

  • Matt Cameron is the man.

Pearl Jam is too sweet for him. I prefer Matt Cameron playing for Soundgarden

...but I like pearl jam, of course.

  • This Is good but I prefer the cash version ( cover)

  • @Brockdabuster are you sick in the head?

  • wow. drop B tuning

  • actually during these live performances i believe that rusty cage and searching with my good eye closed were tuned to drop d

  • @zb1984 nope, that's definitely drop b.

  • @kilamanjaroface shit i think your right, but SWMGEC live is Drop D for sure, I played bass a long with it

  • @kilamanjaroface Searching With My Good Eye Closed during live was tuned to Drop D. I have tuned both my bass guitar and electric guitars to Drop D, and watched how they play and played along with them exactly like they do.

Rusty Cage on the other hand, your right, is always Drop B

  • That shit is fantastic! how he can sing and play this at the same time is beyond me

  • I KNOW WTF

  • lml

    larga vida a soundgarden!

  • Ben plays his bass extremely loosley.

Cornell also does great with vocals here. It's hard to sing and play sometimes.

  • When Chris plays and sings these Soundgarden songs it's like he's one person on the mic and another with his hands. Amazing! I really hope he plays guit for the reunion.

  • idk his singing is much better when you take the guitar away either way he kicks ass tho

  • yea I do too, they do alot of weird tunings....rock on

  • cameon and grohl, both kick ass...

    Different styles, just that.

  • this my fav Soundgarden song, i know how to play it on the guitar

  • SICCCKKKKKKKK.

  • thumbs up for the mad hair ;)

  • I love when the riff goes to that drop B dunnadunnadunnadunna

  • i think credit here should go to the dude who front flipped stage dived

    that was fucken insane!

  • Comment removed

  • I gotta say I like more this..than audioslave.....I like the grundgy feel to it that Audioslave doesn't bring. Tom Morello uses a very digitalize tone.

  • you know no one ever compliments the bassist. thayil's riffs were amazing, cornell's vocals are legendary, and cameron is in a tie with bonham and grohl for best drummer ever. but that bassist has an amazing stage presence and these songs could never be as heavy as they are if that bassist was absolutely destroying his intrument for the entire song.

  • I agree. Ben Sheppard gets no credit for how much he meant that band.

  • ummm dave grohl?

    he has NO touch

  • meh I couldn't think of another drummer from a band I like other than grohl. grohl isn't even on bonham's level, but I used his name to make a point.

    so sue me.

  • must say i prefer grohl by a mile to cameron simply because of grohls raw power but still one of the better drummers of the era

  • I like Chad Channing better than both but their all great drummers.

  • hell yea dude! ben shepard is an amazing song writer too!!!

  • @dan99467 ben shepherd is in soundgarden. how is that a bad thing? oh wait you didn't say it was. you said he wasn't getting proper props. like i said, ben shepherd was in soundgarden, major props.

  • @dan99467 YES! Finally, somebody credits Ben Shepard....its because of him I wear my bass on the floor!

  • @dan99467 Cameron is definetly an awesome drummer..But Grohl being in a tie for best drummer ever?? hes alright but no way..IMO..(Neil Peart,Ian Pace, even Scotty rockenfield,,ect)

  • @RedzyVernville pretty much. Cobham, Bonham, Peart, Bruford, Bozzio, etc.

  • @dan99467 Ever go to a Primus concert? Just sayin'...

  • @dan99467 no can be bonzo's or grohls they were orginal...dont get me wrong cameron is pretty good.

  • @dan99467 FALSE!!! DONT YOU EVER, EEEVVEEERR!!! COMPARE MATT CAMERON TO DAVE GROHL, NONETHELESS BONHAM FROM ZEPPELEN!?!?!?!? OMFG STUPIDEST YOUTUBE COMMENT EVER

  • @TTGBMR Hee hee, what a stupid thing to get riled up about. Get a life.

  • @dan99467 lol matt's great, but best drummer?... erm

  • @dan99467

Ben Sheppard was an unsung hero of that band.

    Kudos to him

  • @dan99467 yean ben is really good just to bad he never really got out there he also has good backup vocals

btw chris wrote the rifts to this song

  • @dan99467 cameron isnt in a tie for best drummer ever. he isn't better than abruzz

  • @dan99467 You clearly know little about music. Firstly, you mention Dave Grohl and Bonham like they're equally talented drummers, which is mentally retarted (in case you can't work it out, Bonham is better).

You also seem to have no knowledge of one of the best drummers of the 90's- and one of the best drummers EVER- Danny Carey. .

  • @lateralusman87 for some reason youtube only informed me of your response and not the thousands of others. i came here to tell you it was retarded to mispell retarded and also to check the date on when I said it. then I saw that you and the other sheeple have just been echoing each other for months, a whole year actually.

also "meh I couldn't think of another drummer from a band I like other than grohl. grohl isn't even on bonham's level, but I used his name to make a point." - me a year ago.

  • @dan99467 bassists always get complimented, what are you talking about? People always compliment them because they THINK they are never being complimented so they want to be different. I do agree with you about Matt Cameron, however.

  • @dan99467 Funny......., you point out no one mentions him, yet you dont even use his name, just "bassist"

  • @scottelliottmusic ben sheppard.

  • @scottelliottmusic BEN SHEPARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dan99467 grohl isnt even an average drummer..

  • @lateralus88vicarious good one!

  • @dan99467 Grohl and Cameron are good but they're nowhere near the best drummers ever.

  • @safetosaydontquoteme and u r?

  • @safetosaydontquoteme actually they are. You're probably just one of those idiot fan boys who likes to do a list in number order.

  • @SludgePunkGrunge All you have to do is listen to any death metal band and you've already found better drummers... Maybe best drummers in the mainstream but no way the best drummers ever.

  • @safetosaydontquoteme I listen to death metal and a huge variety of other metal genres. I still say they are some of the best drummers ever especially since I can differentiate genres =) try doing the same.

  • @dan99467

yes, his stage presence is absolutely amazing

  • Jesus Christ, Matt Cameron is a beast. And all the hair *ovation*

  • Cameron is fucking amazing...... who comes up with those timings??? NO ONE BUT THE MAN MATT!

  • insane guitar riff

  • just one of the best rock tunes ever......

  • this looks like Moore Theater in Seattle ! ;D

  • Soundgarden was nothing but great musician's all around. They all contributed to each record they made.

  • Wow, drummer respect!!!.............drummer sucks......you suck!. This guy is a fucking metronome! Ya' dont fuck with the drummer......., drummer says "lick my rim" you lick.

  • matt cameron is one of the best fucking drummers around.

  • Matt Cameron = Human Clock

nice to see him back when he actually enjoyed playing drums

  • thank you kim thayil in sg

fucking finally some mother fucking respect.

  • he pretty much made that band huh?

  • yeah, i pretty much came to that conclusion after audioslave. sg and ratm are legends but... well you know...

  • i really dont understand what you mean by that?

  • they are legends when they are sg and ratm, not audioslave.

because audioslave is pretty much ratm with chris cornell singing

  • You trippin' !

  • i THINK he's trying to say he likes soundgarden and rage against the machine, but not audioslave.

  • His guitar and Chris's Voice made the band, if it weren't for Chris we wouldn't even have these great songs.

  • Thes guys got it. They mixed punk/avant -noise elements and Zeppelin/Sabbath riffs like no other. All topped off with a great vibe and superior singing and lyrics. I'm glad I saw their last Seattle show. A fine, fine band!

  • This makes me think of the time when henry rollins spoke of chris cornell live at shows "I'd go and the guy peel the paint of walls"........like the comments before me, soundgarden is the best band of all time. Badmotorfinger just flew a fuckin whole in music that WILL NEVER EVER BE FILLED, THANK GOD!!

  • if music ever becomes this good again then it will never see the light of day because of all the fat cats at the record companies.

Pretty sad......but also good in a way because then none of the good music will be in the mainstream and none of the posers will get a hold of it.

  • The King!!!!!!!!

    VeRy GooD!!!

    The Best!!!

    \o/

  • Qualit song form an amazing band live, My blood begins to boil.....LOL

  • bad_ass_rock'n'roll.

  • Kim is wearing a marvin the martian shirt

  • i only have these words SOUNDGARDEN IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

  • yeah i love tham i just whish that they woud get together again

  • AGREED.

  • why would it be illegal?

  • I know maybe he's a dude lol

  • I love Chris Cornell so much

I would bang him if it wasn't illegal

  • Damn I loved all that hair...I wish he hadn't cut it off, but yeah...I'd bang him if I could- that dark hair with those light blue eyes....OMG... @drool@

  • One of their best performances of Rusty Cage ever!!!
