Scientists are some of the most selfless people on the planet. Most of them don't want anything more than credit and a modest living for their discoveries. AS for the footage at about 35seconds, I got hit almost exactly like this. We were in Ramadi and we were waiting to meet up with 3rd platoons squad that was relieving us. I was bent down talking to Amira this gorgeous 5 year old little girl and got hit from the rear and would have got my spine and my heart if it werent for my IBA(vest) and possibly killed that little girl. The first thing i remember is falling forward and on top of Amira then grabbing her and putting her in the bradley.......
and we took the roof off that building and personally went in there to find the sniper. He was dead and only about 17-19 years old. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Almost getting killed and he would shoot near children? then one of us killed a boy that was my sons age. Its nothing I EVER want to experience ever again. Amira was perfectly okay and we never learned the boys name. Even after all this. I still do not believe god saved me or that boy, or Amira.
I wish it wasn't a story. I wish none of that would ahve happened. I can't imagine what his family went through if they even found out he was dead. If someone told me my son was dead and was shooting at people near CHILDREN I would be destroyed. I don't see gods work in any of that. Was he helping the boy? was he going to save me? or that girl? if he was there he should have never let that boy touch a gun or even be in that situation. If god was there he isn't something i want to worship.

Thunderf00t, what you are apposing is Gnosticism which was considered a heresy by the early church. The early Christian church never taught that materialism was evil or insufficient, but rather should be used for the Glory of God. The disciple Luke was a doctor (Colossians 4:14). Medical treatments were given (Ezekiel 47:12; 1Timothy 5:23; Mark 5:25-30). To rely on spiritual healing apart from physicians is foolish; not to mention, testing God.

I almost wish I could help you guys, because I know it isn't your fault if your parents forced it on you at a young age, although, saying that, I went to a catholic school in England, and I had to pray every day, but I stopped believing in god when I was 12. Lol, thats actually totally untrue. Thomas Nagels actually wrote an entire rebuttal on it, called the "fear of religion". Michael Ruse said Dawkins was an "embarrassment to atheism". Antony Flew, who use to be the worlds most popular atheist, but now he believe in God, said Dawkins was an idiot. Quentin Smith condemns the book, I'm pretty sure Howard Sobel does also.

Vietnam didn't beat the US as far as fighting goes. Israel while lesser, had way better technology than the Arabs. The US Revolutionary war..... It came down to tactics!!! We had almost as many men, = equipment. But better tactics. As for the other I can't say other wise as I don't know as much about them.

Vietnam was a US loss of course, not militarily yes but battles aren't fought primarily through military means, rarely they are.
Israel beating the odds has alot more to it than technology.
The US Revolutionary war was won by France and by guerilla tactics on English soil.
So yes tactics, but at the beginning there was no comparison between the rebels and the crown.

There are ways in which science and religion can coexist, and this support is part of that coexistence.

I always found it to be deeply hypocritical for someone to use a medium based on technology developed by science to preach an anti-scientific message.

With all due respect...the problem with your argument (which is just a rehash of the old "Prime Mover" argument) is that it is internally self-contradicting. To assume that ANY entity can exist without being created, implies that another entity can as well.
Therefore the argument is null & meaningless.
We have to go by the evidence (there is no proof of God, but if God was true there should be), and logic (Occam's razor also argues against God since it is the more complex position).

...The real meaning of the word is more like "well substantiated explanation". A theory is a model that explains observational and experimental data. The Theory of Gravity explains the fact that all matter attracts all other matter, the Theory of Evolution explains that any organism which has a beneficial mutation will be more likely to survive to pass that trait to a new generation.
I suggest you check out Potholer54 and AronRa. If you want to refute something, you have to understand it first.
