Is there any existing design for the original Shurouya? I'm dying to know what it looked like, whether or not Shurouga is its belated modern redesign.
Quick little update now that Z2 is out: The picture at 1:30 seems to actually be Crow, the new original main character. The hair and the coat are a whole lot like his, and the black wings certainly fit his name.
Probably. Like you said, nothing's actually been fully confirmed, but it certainly fits
Hard to say, as both Asakim and Crowe look very similar.
However Asakim is not Crowe, or at least not without some time dimension or alternate universe thing, because they both appear in Z2 as seperate characters.
Yeah. I saw the scans when they first came out. It's really making me wonder if Z2-1 and Z2-2 will indeed be taking place during the Black/ Dark History that's mentioned at the end of the orginal game. Because things add up.
I should probably mention that this attack isn't called "Ray Buster", it's called "Ley Buster". I could go on about Ley Lines and how they relate to Akashic Buster, but you can look it up on Wikipedia if you want. For now, just do a Google image search on "ley line" and compare the Earth-shaped image to the spheroid at 0:54
Very true, but I believe the women represent two things, their clothes (being black and white) represent Kuro and Shiro. The women themselves represent Ryune and that girl in La Gias (forgot her name). Thus representing those closest to him.
The upside-down image is probably just a closer view of the figure in the distance (who may or may not be Asakim, although he probably is). Basically, while his silhouette is shown in the distance, his actual face appears in his shadow.
The obvious/cliche answer is that Masaki somehow died and came back from the dead as an immortal, then became goth and evil as the centuries passed and he was unable to die. But Banpresto defies cliches just as often as they use them... Okay, not as often.
Shurouya was an original unit initially intended to appear in SRW2 (SNES) with Cybuster and Granzon. It supposedly had the ability to cross time/dimensions and to be the only mech able to stop its opponents Cybuster and Granzon from fighting one against each other. In the end, as the plot was deemed too complicated, it didn't appear anymore.
Shurouga in SRWZ appears to be partially(from what we know so far) based on that concept. (dimension cross, unit similar to Cybuster, links to LoE, etc.)
precisely what shurouya is, the pilot in the shurouga is supposedly a dark masaki who'd ungergone quite the corruption..
if granzon and cybuster are under gods of some sorts, then shurouga must have one or the same god as the aforementioned, judging shurouga is related to the shurouya, hmm~volkruss perhaps?
anything can be added to what shurouga is since NOTHING is official yet.
1 picture in the vid contains a man (upside down) wearing the same clothes as masaki. daitrombe has that pix
@shirakawa2 Doesn't that mean that Astranagunt and DisAstranagunt borrowed some of that aspect as well (going through space and time to prevent disasters from happening)?
Cybuster can't cross dimensions. It can only use the gates to go between La Gias and Earth. The Astranagant is capable of time/dimension travel by using the Cross Gate Paradigm system and I think that Banpreios can tear the dimensional boundaries apart using one of its weapons.
You know, the more I look at him the more he reminds me more of Shu than Masaki appearance wise. I could be wrong I guess.
I had this theory that he's Shadow Mirror Masaki (Like Beowolf is SM Kyosuke and Lemon is SM Excellen), but what if he's not really Masaki at all and there's another reason he's using an anagram of Masaki's name?
I'm probably being silly though. After all, he's got Masaki's VA not Shu's. XD; It'd be interesting if it turned out that way though. A lot less obvious.
1. I'll copy/paste what it's written in his encyclopedia entry when you finish the game once [SPOILERS AHEAD]:
"Asakim - A young man who wanders through various spacetimes together with his Shurouga. He committed a grave sin in the past and isn't allowed to die. In order to escape such fate, he wishes to obtain the power of the Taiji, and partecipates himself in the battles involving the owners of the Spheres, fragments of the will of the Taiji."
2 and 3: my opinion is that Asakim is Masaki Andoh, who some time after defeating Shuu and his Granzon (as in SRWOGG), fought another greater enemy at the cost of the lives of his mates and maybe even his soul. There's a possibility that such enemy is the Shurouya, which was originally intended to appear with Granzon and Cybuster in their first game. Shurouya was meant to cross dimensions and to be only one able to beat these two. In this game it looks like Shurouya "got fused" with Cybuster.
I was always under the impresion that Asakim was a version of Maski from a universe were everything went to hell rather then anny version of Masaki we know.
I'm not sure (I should check), but even though I definitely remember that yes, Shiro is supposed to be a male cat familiar, I think that in the character encyclopedia in SRW Original Generations for PS2, this information is omitted, so maybe this isn't canonical anymore.
In a way though, the woman in white in the last picture of this video looks more masculine (just a bit!) than the one in black, so she could be the female version of Shiro.
now they have to continue Z , this is getting really interesting.
The hero Masaki becoming a evil alter ego of himself ? i need to know more O_O and the battle between cybuster and shurouya.....way to cool and interesting.

Also thos girls both look alot like Ester (a suporting character from Z2 part 1 who was clearly set up for a bigger role in part 2)

OK..I'm agreeing with the Cybuster/ Cybaster and Granzon pics. But those two chicks...I swear they look like Wendy and Ryune/Lune from Masoukishin.
The Masaki pic on the other hand...It could be Volkruss. I pretty sure it is too.

The cloaked figure looks more like Crow from Z2. Compare the picture of him on the Z2 site to that shadow.

Demonic Getter Presence= Shin Getter (From Armageddon)
Montrous looking Mazinger = Shin Mazinger w/ G. Scrander
The stills in Asakim's attack= Possible protagnists? Which seems incredibly likely considering Crow.
Dual Seater Dual Form for Z2-2 female?

Okay who wants a game dealing on how Asakim became immortal?
Thumbs up

I doubt the two women are Kuro and Shiro... given Kuro is a male cat.

Mere gas powered mechs against a cybuster clone? You just have to feel sorry for them.

@ArbalestEmerald I know, right? They'd need at least ten Cybuster clones to stand a chance.

Great Video! noob question...
1. What is Shurouya?
2. Did Shuryouya ever make appearance in the past game? Cause this is the first time I know about it.
3. Who's the pilot?
Seriously, I can't wait for Z2 or the next OG game featuring Asakim! Gonna be bad ass!

Like I said, I'm really not sure on this one.

coukd it be that asakim might be one of masoukishin i mean come on why would asakim be like the cybuster
demonz100 3 years ago
This has a lot of questions unanswered:
1. What was Asakim's true purpose? To see Masaki and the Cybuster?
2. Is he facing a Not-Granzon before the actual events of the game and why?
3. Why is Masaki is in that vid?

Try to search for "Taiji" in the Wikipedia.
