I think he did ads for the Northern Electric blanket in the late 1970's or the early 1980s. Didn't Mr. Jacobi also say "Think zinc" while chomping down on a cigar?

Canadian born Lou Jacobi (Dec.28. 1913) was a great character actor and a wonderful human being. Sadly, he died on October 23,2009.

He's not the "donuts" guy. This clip is from the 1970's. TheDunkin Donuts commercials were in the 1990's.

perceptive comment there -- every "Futurama" viewing had me wondering where that voice characterization came from, and I always thought "there's a bit of Georgie Jessel in that voice, but who is that other piece of the puzzle?" ... thanks for finding that piece ... try to find an early 60s comedy album called "You Don't Have to be Jewish" which has a great cast including Jacobi ... lots of great skits on it

Billy West, in a radio interview with Jay Thomas, admitted that in doing Dr. Zoidberg's voice he was inspired by Lou Jacobi with a mix of George Jessel.
