I can think of a few miscarriages of justice that are far worse than this case. Didn't the" West Memphis 3" just get released from Prison last month after new evidence suggested that they were innocent? They served almost 20 years for a crime they almost definately didn't commit ... one was actually on death row. Lucky them huh?
The only reason Amanda knox got more news coverage than them is because she was wrongly convicted by a foreign judical system.
No murder weapon? No motive? Meredith's room would have been filled with dozens of bloody footprints, handprints and DNA of three people, not one, if the prosecutor's theory is true. Moreover, it would have been impossible to remove all traces of evidence of Amanda and Raffaele while leaving all evidence (including DOZENS of DNA samples of skin hair, etc of Rudy!) of Rudy intact. Albanian man Hetemaj eyewitnessed the trio behind a dumpster 50 meters from the house after the murder, Amanda threthening him with a knife. Guede tried to rent his car , first offered 50 eur , then 300, but he drow away, he saw then Sollecito chasing him with a knife, and then saw a broken car, was forced to stop in front of a truck, and these are facts that's been proven happened by other witnesses.

@zare009 The evidence strongly suggests she did, yes. It was proved beyond reasonable doubt that Meredith was attacked by more than one person. They have Amanda's bloody footprint at the scene, her DNA mixed with the victim's blood in 5 places near the body and her fingerprints on one of the murder weapons (there were probably two). Plus her frequent changes of story, blaming of an innocent man and the fact that her boyfriend won't confirm her final alibi all counted against her.
@tvdd1973 Amandas DNA was found mixed with MK's blood but this does not prove anything, we have already established the fact that Amanda lived there. And it wasnt "near the body", it wasn't even found in meredith's room, but even if it was I don't think that would prove anything either. The fact is though, is that is was NOT found in the room of the murder.
@Nyjeen There were other girls living in the flat too but their DNA wasn't mixed with Meredith's blood, and their DNA wasn't on one of the murder weapons. Her own boyfriend wouldn't confirm her alibi (and we know HIS was a lie). She blamed an innocent man etc. One piece of evidence doesn't necessarily PROVE the case 100%, you're right. BUT a number of pieces of evidence DO prove the case beyond any reasonable doubt, and that is 'all' the law requires.
Among them will be the prosecution's key witness tramp Antonio Curatolo who put Knox and Sollecito at the scene of the crime - the only one to do so. He had told the court he remembered the night ''clearly'' as he saw student revellers queueing up to catch buses to nightclubs on the outskirts of the city.
However lawyers have established that he could not have as the night Meredith was murdered was a bank holiday with venues being shut and no buses running.

According to Sollecito's defense - his story about what his plans were that night - Sollecito was to help his friend pick up her suitcase from a BUS that was arriving that evening - so the BUSES WERE RUNNING that night! Curatolo may have seen a bunch of students catching ANY bus!!
I still don't know if Amanda did this or not, but I will say that the Massei report (which I read in English) has a LOT of glaring assumptions about motives that would not be allowed in a US court decision. For example, saying that Amanda wouldn't have gone back to her house to take a shower because she took one the night before? Or saying that Guede wouldn't break into the house with a stone because he did that recently and wouldn't want to do it the same way again. Very weird.
@mlc2005 These are all taken into consideration in any courtroom and form the arguments presented in the courtroom - but in America or England the judges and jury do not need to explain why the jury reached their verdict. This is why we dont read about it. But any jury would think that it was weird. Once all these odd discrepancies add up it stops looking coincidental and begins looking like lies and cover ups....
Fellow americans should realize that the victim was NOT italian but BRITISH, and the other two convicted guilty people in this trial, Amanda's boyfriend Raffaele and Rudy, are BOTH ITALIANS, and Raffaele comes from a wealthy family. So if the italians judges in this trial had been "unfair" or corrupted, they would have helped their fellow citizens rather than convicted them...
I think Amanda's statements are highly suspicious, but I really don't understand why Guede has never said anything incriminating about the other two. Couldn't they force him to make a confession by giving him reduced sentence in return of information or something? I feel like they could have gotten more out of Guede, Knox and her boyfriend will never admit to the truth.

If you think Amanda Knox is guilty, then why? Because you heard someone say so? Because you accepted without questioning some myth about a cartwheel or accusing an innocent man? (Not true.) The Micheli report is available on an Italian government website making it a reliable source for facts on this case. Both the defence and prosecution arguments have been touched on by Judge Micheli and his conclusion was that they would stand trial
The media is not a source of reliable information. Especially sources such as FOX etc

Amanda Knox is guilty - its hard to believe that a 'pretty girl' would commit such a heinous crime. But the facts are there they point to Amanda, Raffaele and Rudy participating in an awful crime.
The knox media campaign has done much to suppress the truth and the tactical manoeuvres of the lawyers have been wondrous - but if anyone were to look into the facts of the case for a mere 10 minutes they can see that things start adding up pretty fast and very clearly.

The prosecutor is corrupt, he's up on charges, its no secret. Doesn't make sense although the old 'innocent until proven guilty' for the prosecutor apparently is holding is job.
This girl is not guilty. "Justice" system is littered with examples of people wrongfully accused - and this story is one of them. People that support her sentence are seriously brainwashed by media. don't belive everything you read or see on the news, for example whilst watching an american news network report on Megrahi's release I heard them say something about Megrahi being the only one convicted for the Lockerbie bombing. Megrahi was the only one convicted because he was the only one who survived.
The media has really been selective about what they report on this Amanda Knox case because the Knox clan hired a massive PR company to make sure what they want is out on the news. The sad truth lies in the judgment of Micheli who sent them to stand trial. There the evidence is written in black and white - there is no reference to her cartwheels or her abnormal behaviour. The facts are facts; phone records, witnesses, DNA and etc...

Perugia is a very small town. There are many witnesses that put the three together and there are many pieces of irrefutable evidence. All you need to do is read the Micheli Report which is 106 pages of evidence and the Massei report will be out in two weeks or so...

This is how it went down:
1) Guede entered the apartment through the busted window just minutes before Meredith arrived.
2) 08:55 pm Meredith came home, went straight to her room and placed a phone call to her mom at 08:56 pm, on Nov 1, 2007.(From police testimony in court)
3) 8:56 pm Guede attack Meredith before her mom had time to answer the call.
If anyone is interested in the true facts that led to the conviction of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito; there is an excellent website that has translated the Micheli report (the judgement which said they would need to stand trial). The facts are laid out and there is no media commentary and PR spin - pure cold hard facts of why the judge believes they were involved in the murder.
Also the official report itself is on a government website (in Italian). 106 pages of evidence.

It's really irrelevant who dealt the final blow. They were all involved in the murder, and are all equally guilty. That's the way murder works.
That happens to be my opinion, and that of any right-thinking person (as exemplified by the huge numbers of 'thumbs up' next to 'guilty' comments and 'thumbs down' next to 'innocent' ones), but it is also a fact, as ruled in a court of law.
I suppose it's because you're so hideously ignorant of the facts (why not read the Micheli Report?), and of the extremely high standards of Italian forensic investigation. Knox is guilty as sin, and anyone in their right mind knows it.

I can think of a few miscarriages of justice that are far worse than this case. Didn't the" West Memphis 3" just get released from Prison last month after new evidence suggested that they were innocent? No murder weapon? No motive? Meredith's room would have been filled with dozens of bloody footprints, handprints and DNA of three people, not one, if the prosecutor's theory is true. @zare009 The evidence strongly suggests she did, yes. It was proved beyond reasonable doubt that Meredith was attacked by more than one person. They have Amanda's bloody footprint at the scene, her DNA mixed with the victim's blood in 5 places near the body and her fingerprints on one of the murder weapons (there were probably two). Plus her frequent changes of story, blaming of an innocent man and the fact that her boyfriend won't confirm her final alibi all counted against her.

Her own boyfriend wouldn't confirm her alibi (and we know HIS was a lie). She blamed an innocent man etc. One piece of evidence doesn't necessarily PROVE the case 100%, you're right. BUT a number of pieces of evidence DO prove the case beyond any reasonable doubt, and that is 'all' the law requires.

Among them will be the prosecution's key witness tramp Antonio Curatolo who put Knox and Sollecito at the scene of the crime - the only one to do so. He had told the court he remembered the night ''clearly'' as he saw student revellers queueing up to catch buses to nightclubs on the outskirts of the city.
However lawyers have established that he could not have as the night Meredith was murdered was a bank holiday with venues being shut and no buses running.

I still don't know if Amanda did this or not, but I will say that the Massei report (which I read in English) has a LOT of glaring assumptions about motives that would not be allowed in a US court decision. For example, saying that Amanda wouldn't have gone back to her house to take a shower because she took one the night before? Or saying that Guede wouldn't break into the house with a stone because he did that recently and wouldn't want to do it the same way again. Very weird.

Can someone explain to me how Amanda Knox was able to leave all the DNA evidence of Rudy Guede in the room where Meredith Kercher was murdered and clean up every single trace of herself in that same room? A bright young honor student with a reputation for kindness and honesty goes off to study in Italy and overnight turns into a vicious murderer and liar? Im skeptical. Seems hard to believe without some real proof. I looked all over the net for proof and didnt find it. Found lots of slurs and allegations but all of it shown to be untrue or reasonably refuted. The Micheli report is available on an Italian government website making it a reliable source for facts on this case. Both the defence and prosecution arguments have been touched on by Judge Micheli and his conclusion was that they would stand trial
The media is not a source of reliable information. Especially sources such as FOX etc
The Massei report 427 pages explaining the guilty verdict came out in March and is unfortunately not yet available electronically

Amanda Knox is guilty - its hard to believe that a 'pretty girl' would commit such a heinous crime. But the facts are there they point to Amanda, Raffaele and Rudy participating in an awful crime.
The knox media campaign has done much to suppress the truth and the tactical manoeuvres of the lawyers have been wondrous - but if anyone were to look into the facts of the case for a mere 10 minutes they can see that things start adding up pretty fast and very clearly.

This girl is not guilty. "Justice" system is littered with examples of people wrongfully accused - and this story is one of them. People that support her sentence are seriously brainwashed by media. Her previous and current behaviour is absolutely incongruent with crime. I hope this girl will be out soon - although flipping Italians will try to keep all evidence under seal - the embarrassment for them once the verdict is overruled will be enormous.

Now if you just google TJMK website and READ the judge's report on the murder you may find that there is sufficient evidence to convict the bitch and her ex-lover! OR if you speak Italian you could go straight onto the government website and check out the 106 pages of evidence!
The Massei Report will be out March! That will be another massive bundle of evidence! But for someone that wants to remain blind to the facts, then so be it! Knox is in jail where she will be for a long time!

don't belive everything you read or see on the news, for example whilst watching an american news network report on Megrahi's release I heard them say something about Megrahi being the only one convicted for the Lockerbie bombing. This makes Scotland seem like incommpintant fools, no? Whilst this is true Megrahi was the only one convicted because all others implacted died when the plane blew up. Megrahi was the only one convicted because he was the only one who survived.

The media has really been selective about what they report on this Amanda Knox case because the Knox clan hired a massive PR company to make sure what they want is out on the news. I have read the facts! No media coverage, just cold hard facts that were in the judge's report which indicted her... unfortunately she made a BIG mistake. She would be on death row in the States so frankly she has it easy in Italy!
Their system is different but its incredibly efficient - she still has another few appeals! No doubt she will have some major time reduced...

Once all the impossible scenarios have been eliminated we are left with the truth, no matter how improbable.
Perugia is a very small town. There are many witnesses that put the three together and there are many pieces of irrefutable evidence. All you need to do is read the Micheli Report which is 106 pages of evidence and the Massei report will be out in two weeks or so...
She is very much guilty. I would think twice before defending a murderer

MEREDITH'S LAST CALL HOME 8:56 pm was interrupted by Guede's attack before her mother could answer the call.
NOTE; Guede admitted it was him caught on CCTV cam prior to 9 pm on his way to the girl's apartment.
NOTE; 8:40 pm, Amanda answered the door bell at Raffaele's apartment.

1) Guede entered the apartment through the busted window just minutes before Meredith arrived.
2) 08:55 pm Meredith came home, went straight to her room and placed a phone call to her mom at 08:56 pm, on Nov 1, 2007.(From police testimony in court)
3) 8:56 pm Guede attack Meredith before her mom had time to answer the call.

If anyone is interested in the true facts that led to the conviction of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito; there is an excellent website that has translated the Micheli report (the judgement which said they would need to stand trial). The facts are laid out and there is no media commentary and PR spin - pure cold hard facts of why the judge believes they were involved in the murder.
Also the official report itself is on a government website (in Italian). 106 pages of evidence.

Guede's 16 years (on appeal) is arrived at because Knox and Sollecito each received 24 years for Merediths murder and related charges.
1) The extenuating circumstances extended to Knox and Sollecito are now taken into account.
2) Because Guede selected a short-form trial he was eligible for a sentence 1/3 less than that of Sollecito and Knox.
Knox and Sollecito received an extra year for staging a break-in, and Knox an extra year on top of that for accusing an innocent man of her crime.

It's really irrelevant who dealt the final blow. They were all involved in the murder, and are all equally guilty. That's the way murder works.
That happens to be my opinion, and that of any right-thinking person (as exemplified by the huge numbers of 'thumbs up' next to 'guilty' comments and 'thumbs down' next to 'innocent' ones), but it is also a fact, as ruled in a court of law.

You can read the evidence that was presented in court for Guede case - where Judge Micheli also implicated AK and RS if you google Micheli report.
Otherwise you can wait for the judges and jury to release their report for this case which is due in 2 months. The reasoning for their conviction will be clearly laid out.
As you can see this is very fair and also very open so the jury have to provide reasoning unlike the US and UK. They have to state what facts convinced them
