man, instead of fighting these idiots, why not try another path...the one you are on is evangelical, in that you want to 'save' everyone from the christians, there will always be christians, and jews, and buddhists and so on...rise above all of it and none of it will matter anymore.
@MiddlePeach Shut the fuck up with that. The book filled with ridiculous claims and untrue prophesies predicted that some wouldn't believe that it was right? Whoa well I guess that's rock hard evidence huh. Better start believing people don't want the flying spaghetti monster to get pissed!
Yes, we need to eliminate those entire shitty superstition cult but we must start first with the most hate it and violent one and that is the shitty cult of death Islam. Love all your videos. I hope you enjoy the video I send you just now about Arab Atheist. Although they spoke in Arabic but there is translation In English! Enjoy it.
I don't think a couple generations will do it. Atheism has been growing in the general population for the last 2 centuries, but it still hasn't overtaken christianity in most western countries. And least of all, the US.
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; vs.29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, vs. 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, vs. 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natura
Jude 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. vs. 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. vs. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
LOL, yeah 10 years ago I was like OMG they want to take the 10 commandments out of the courthouse!!! Oh no!!! Now I'm like WTF is that stupid shit doing on public property!!! Get that shit the hell outta here!!!
Finally, the revolution is on! Everyone grab their Darwin fish car decals and prepare for war! Can you imagine the panic if all Atheist/Agnostic/non-believers all united as one front? Though the religious would claim that we had actually just started our own religion. O.K., no idols, ceremonies, or common texts. I think that will cover us.
I fully endorse this video. I think the religious folk should be treated with nothing but ridicule. They have had 2000 years to state their case and it gets weaker and weaker everyday. They are terrorists of the mind and deserve no respect. They have made a mockery out of our country. They have polluted the land with Mega-churces filled with lies. Most people even alot of atheist cannot even comprehend the full scale of damage the church and religion is doing to society. Keep up the good word.
I for one denounce this video. I think it's confrontational, condescending militant attitudes like those expressed in this vid that render different belief systems irreconcilable when cooperation should be our ultimate goal. I don't want to eliminate christianity, I don't want to label every religous person as some stupid, "evil" person who deserves to have their belief system destroyed, that's just fucked up. You come off to me as being the atheistic mirror image of people like geerup.
this video is dumb. your "ilk"? who would that be? people who aren't happy being atheists, or that think their identity relies on having to trash everyone else who isn't? i understand there are some christians who can't shut up about their beliefs, and they deserve to be criticized, but to go after everyone is just immature.
it the principles that are the fact of the matter here....not the statistics, would you call a 40 year old man who believes in santa clause immature? better yet, would you call someone who poked fun at this man immature? well, im sorry to inform you, but that is human nature, and anyone who cannot accept the fact that we are going to ridicule what we dont believe in regardless of the nuisance factor is.......well, IMMATURE
@tj, the principles are the fact of the matter? and what would be those principles? that it doesn't matter what kind of person someone else is, if they believe in something you consider the least bit irrational, it's ok for you to ridicule them? now, to answer your questions. my answer is it that it depends. tell me something more about this person. is that his only defining characteristic, that he believes in santa? is that the way you view christians?
it is up to the perceiver whether or not they wish to ridicule this person......and the principle of the matter is free speech, im tired of hearing people say that they are offended by something, sure, they have the right to say what they want, but we shouldnt limit someone elses rights just because it gets someone eles panties in a wad, what is the point of freedom of speech without freedom of offense? you cannot have one without the other
that's a crock! look if you want to be a jackass to everyone who calls themself a christian, that's fine, and yes, i understand that's your right as well. i don't need that explained to me. what i'm saying is it's a jackass move. millions of people are christians and haven't done anything to hurt this guy. but because he's been hurt by some he's going to take out his anger on all of them. give me a break! just because it's allowed, doesn't mean it's not a jackass move.
christian propoganda is probably the most effective and irrational reason that many of our freedoms are in jeopardy......freedom of speech? not anymore, freedom of religion? well, im not blaming THAT one on christians, but take a glance at europe and the Sharia law thats enforced as of late......even beneficial scientific researches like stem-cell research, cloning, even SCIENCE in general is under constant attack by christians and other religious fundamentalists
not all christians are extreme fundamentalists who want to destroy science. most christians i know are just like you and me. they live decent lives and don't deserve to have their faith constantly being the subject of ridicule. if you want to go after a loudmouth fundamentalist, and attack the claims he makes, then do that. but don't make it out to be that every christian, muslim, or jew deserves the same disrespect just because they happen to believe in the same god.
"but don't make it out to be that every christian, muslim, or jew deserves the same disrespect just because they happen to believe in the same god." - I disagree with you to be perfectly frank. For me (and this is only an opinion) If you insult my intelligence and play a collective part in the propogation of talking snakes, talking bushes, walking zombies and so on.(take any religion you like) then it deserves ridicule and contempt.Literally.If that ridicule and contempt = disrespect then fine
I personally find it absurd that the notion of respect exists at all. Like a child, we tolerate the belief in the bogeyman because we know it seems real to the child. However how do you define respect. We respect this childs beliefs up until a point. Eventually that child must deal with reality. Ou respect for nonsense has it's limits. I place my limit at reality. If someone believes in majical sky daddy with all the trimmings then they simply get what funny beliefs deserve.
as someone who used to be a christian, i can't really say i ever identified myself as someone who believed in talking snakes and that other stuff, and i wasn't alone. my religious/spiritual views had more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater. according to you, not even that deserves respect. and as for me becoming an atheist, it had absolutely nothing to do with people being jerks and giving me crap about my belief in god. just something to think about...
"my religious/spiritual views had more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater." - That description is more a deistic style non descript. There are some basic tenants of being a christian, if you can't or didn't subscribe to them then you can hardly call yourself christian. One of those is walking zombies. That of christs ressurection. Isn't that a fundamental part of christianity? Or the description of god, as omnipresent, omnipotent and so on?
"more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater." - Why should i respect that? The basis in which that opinion or "feeling" was constructed was nothing. Absolutely nothing, nada, zilch. What you are asking people to do is respect.... Nothing. Now onto being a jerk etc. I am not one for deliberately going out of my way to upset people etc. However if someone makes an issue out of displaying their belief then how is it any different when someone unbelief shows?
"and as for me becoming an atheist, it had absolutely nothing to do with people being jerks and giving me crap about my belief in god. just something to think about..." - Sure it is, but it does sure sound like you are presuming that the end game is to convert christians away from belief into becoming atheists. I have no such desire to do such a thing, If they are stupid then that is their problem, not mine. However i will make it clear that there is a very direct opposition to their beliefs.
so then what is your purpose, if not to convert? to drive a wedge where one isn't needed? to simply insult people when they are doing no harm to you? grow up, dude. these people are not stupid. there are many religious people who wrestle with their faith daily. they don't need people like you and this cult of dusty guy calling them "stupid".
"to drive a wedge where one isn't needed?" - That is incredibly narrow minded if your presumption is that the only other alternative to not converting is to drive a wedge. Using any definition of stupid you can find can you tell me how religion seperates itself from that? Specifically (in this conversation) christianity, warts and all. Stupid is as stupid does.
So to get onto my reasons for being quite anti religion is because it makes it very very clear that there is an intelligent purposeful opposition to religion and the claims that come out of it. This might seem pointless to you but left to their own devices religion does tend to denegrate into theocracy, everyone looking at each other to see who is not "goddy" enough and so on. See we might have an argument with fundies, but without that strong opposition so many more would be on the god parade.
I will give you an example that might help you place my opposition in context. Here in Berlin, they wanted to force a referendum to give people a choice between studying religion, or ethics. Previously i think religion was optional. However they wanted to force a default of religion and people could opt out into ethics. This was championed by the church, not the state or education bodies. In short it was to push religion onto people. The people of Berlin came out and not only voted no (cont.)
The people of Berlin are quite passive, tolerant, certainly not the people that you would call the types to drive wedges. But even so, they came out in such numbers to specifically show a clear opposition to religion being forced on people. The odd thing was that the people that voted no did not even need to. The church had to get a large number of yes votes for this to go through. Not voting was as good as a no. Yet many times the number of people came out to mark a clear no!
My only wish is that when a religious person opens their mouth on that topic, that they are forced to examine the idiocies of what they are saying. It happens in politics. Using politics as an example, something as trivial as us managing our day to day lives, no politician can open their mouth without someone else critiscing them and even ridiculing them when they have stupid ideas without merit. This is discourse, religion seems to be protected from that. When in reality it is not.
i have no problem with confronting an individual who makes a claim based on their religious beliefs. what i have a problem with is insulting every single person who happens to be a christian because there are some who can't keep their personal beliefs to themselves.
What do you define as an insult though. It does seem that the bar in which insults are set is quite low when it comes to religion in general. I do think no matter how you approach this subject you will always have religious people claiming of been insulted. I also notice this notion of being insulted seems to be a defense from the poorly educated. Rarely do i hear an educated person blame others for their feelings of being insulted. It does tend to be the poorly educated in society that do that.
i'm sorry... i'm just amazed at the sheer arrogance of your last statement that i really don't know how to answer you. you're so anti-religion that you don't even understand what's insulting? for one thing, people don't deserve to be judged as being "poorly educated" simply because they are religious. that is insulting.
"i'm sorry... i'm just amazed at the sheer arrogance of your last statement" - Actually this is a good demonstration of how some people literally look for ways to feel insulted. If you read what i said, I SAID that I have never heard an educated person claim they feel insulted. Never, I HAVE NEVER. ME.Get it? Nothing in the realms of treading lightly ever suggests that i can't tell you that I HAVE NEVER heard a well educated person claim to be insulted in the same manner that poorly eds do.
"Rarely do i hear an educated person blame others for their feelings of being insulted" I was specifically talking about the notion of "being insulted" and for that it requires no comment at all on their religious standing. Please be advised that it is not arrogance if it is simply true.
"you're so anti-religion that you don't even understand what's insulting?" - Not really, i asked you define what an insult is simply (and now i do talk religion) because it varies from person to person. For some, simply being an atheist is an insult. ergo i am being insulting. I am, i am the atheist and that insults. Where is the line? I was asking the question.
insult - to treat someone with indignity. now, i realize some people are more sensitive than others, this goes for atheists as well as christians. however, i think for most people an insult is pretty easy to spot, like saying someone is poorly educated because they belong to a particular religion.
"like saying someone is poorly educated because they belong to a particular religion." - Well for one i did not say that. But now, to use that example. What if i was to simply read off a report that (for all intents and purposes says the same thing) the less educated you are the more likely you are to be religious?Would that be insulting, even though it has been demonstrated a number of times. Do you see my point?I think you are conserned not with the truth, but the feeling behind presenting it.
Sorry to post so much on this topic, please don't think that i am going especially out of my way to be antagonistic but it is something that i really do have an interest in. This notion of stupid. See i also notice there seems to be this big argument that stupid means that the person is stupid therefore that stupidity rules all aspects of someones life. A christian would then try and say something like, christians are not stupid, look at this and look at that. We are all stupid to some degrees.
look. i'm not going to argue on this much further. i think the sort of behavior which described in this video is childish. it does nothing but cause animosity, and i don't support it.
"it does nothing but cause animosity" - You mean like that notion of hell, that some people are going to heaven but i am not? Sorry Cristoballs, i read a lot of your comments and am on the same page with a lot about what you say. On this topic though i think you are completely blinkered. The first person to throw an insult started civilisation. I think you really have blinkered views about the whole "insult" thing, completely disregarding insults as a valid form of expression also.
cristoballs - Would you consider that the notion of being insulted is somewhat backwards too? For example if someone was to call my lady the most brazen hussy on the planet. I would probably laugh it off and she would in no doubt be more angry at me if i responded to them. This whole notion of feeling insulted bugs me in general i guess.
That's way too optimistic. Just wait for bad economic times (right now that's just the start) or other crises and the irrational will return with the speed of light. Medieval times might wait ahead. Many of them probably. The times of reason seem to me more and more like the exception to the rule. Little enlightened breaks during the old dark game of mankind. Soon our break from total irrationality might come to an end with this crisis and further wars. And I totally hope that I'm so wrong!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
lol oh no im really scared a big bad boy on youtube is a big threat to our faith lmao grow up boy and get a life just remember us Christians get the final laugh in the end and God wins
...unless you, in your infinite ignorance, find out that of the several THOUSAND other religions out there, yours turns out to be wrong and we all share eternity in an unpleasant afterlife.
also, how very loving and christian like of you to "laugh" in the end. Though I am not surprised, I would have hoped someone who says they will make out in the end would have bothered to read the word of christ in the first place.
I always find it strange how, as christians, you talk about having the last laugh. Like your going to be sitting on a cloud viewing Hellvision for entertainment. Keep up the dreams. Maybe your life will be better after you die.
@Godislove97 The grammar mistakes in this sentence/paragraph/statement Im not really sure what to call it are enough to make any person with a high school diploma laugh. Thank you for proving us wrong.
have u forgotten that america was colinized by pilgrams who saught to find a place where they could have freedom to serve, worship, and study religion. idk why you want to apolish an entire religion. go for muslims, go for islams, why christianity though? oh yeah, cause u just love hearing yourself talk and make arguements to try and sound smart :), God bless ya man, you certainly need him
Don't forget how the pilgrims ended up killing of the Natives because of their religious beliefs. The world really needs ideology like that of xtianity and islam.
Actually your significance is way over played , and so is your relevance. Though I seemed to have pushed your button. Im sorry that facts don't always reflect your wishes. Deal with it.
Everyone has heard of the American dream. Many dreams are nothing more than mere delusions, and religion happens to be the biggest one of them all. Sometimes the scariest thing one can do is shatter someone else's dreams. Normally, I don't advocate this, but in the case of religion, which has so many pernicious effects, decimating the dream is a noble endeavor.
@Eastmanarium CDC National Center for Health Statistics reveals that only 2.3%of the population considers themselves homosexual. The statistics come from a 2002 National Survey of Family Growth and are based on 12,571 interviews with men and women ages 15-44 years of age. (The findings were reported in WorldNetDaily, September 16, 2005).
According to this survey, only 2.3% of the males surveyed considered themselves to be homosexuals; 1.8% considered themselves to be bisexuals.
The Kinsey study of 1948, which homosexuals often cite to say that 10% of the population is homosexual, actually says that only 4% of the population is EXCLUSIVELY homosexual. This study involved a disproportionate number of people who had been in jail for sex crimes (hardly a random sample of the population). Kinsey also did perverse studies involving young boys and pedophiles. Information on Kinsey.
Current research shows that the true percentage of homosexuals is in the 1-2% range.
One study should that in late teens, 6% of males have had one homosexual experience and 14% of woman have also. Bisexuality is a lot higher than strict homosexuality. But it really doesn't matter, statistics are informed guessing.
yeah i can see that. But I attribute that to more of an experimentation thing. Not all gays are gay because they feel compelled to be gay. There are Gay by choice groups out there. So those that are gay because it is fashionable or because the are confused the percentag may be a lil higher. Im strictly speaking of those that are gay because they feel absolutely compelled to be gay.
Not trying to win you over. Just saying. Not really any good information on it in general. All the info can be skewed by what you think about fashion or what I think to be fear not to come out. We cannot really know without further investigation. It is all just opinion.
not really. Scientific Method utilizes statistics all the time. If studies are conducted properly , usually the data is pretty reliable. Much like the data that suggest that most Christians love incest.
actually to be honest . I agree with about 70% of what Dusty says. I just think that though most christians are deluded. That Islam is far worse a religion. I mean the christian religion went through a reform where Islam is still like in the stages that christianity was in during the crusades. With NO REFORM.
So though Christians are deserving of ridicule . I just think there are other belief systems much much more deserving of intolerance and contempt.
Agnositcs don't pray do they? They don't adhere to the bible (or any other holy book)? Agnositc is just a pussy euphemism for atheist. Be a man, dude, you don't believe in god and you know it, just say so. :)
I have no fear about talking shit about Islam. At all. It's just that if I did, far fewer people would watch or care. It's a much more boring subject than Christianity to most people.
If you don't believe me simply examine views on videos about Islam compared to videos about Christianity.
Part of logic is accepting reality and working inside of it, and it requires market research to understand what reality is.
thats because 99.0% of people are fucking dumb asses. Islam poses way more of a threat to the modern world than the "reformed"version of Christianity does.
Thanks for the offer. I'll have to see what happens between now and March, but I definitely keep it on my radar. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
"It may take a generation or two before the cult of christianity is dead and gone for good, but it's gonna happen. (...) your days are very numbered."
I admire your confidence and trust in that matter. Tuck me in any time. Yet I must tell you that various civilizations and great people of their times said the same about their theist or superstitious cancer in society. And they failed, obviously. Don't be too damn sure about that. But the ultimate victory isnt what it's about anyway, right ? :>
I believe, though, that the incredibly advances in technology we are seeing will be the end of world religion. It's just a matter of "when" and not "if".
I admit I might be overly optimistic though. Time will tell. =)
The problem with technological progress vs religion is that 95% of religion has reached the point of "he's there anyway!!! nanananana" a good century ago. The majority of Christianity already gave up defending the "Word Of God" in the 19th century and started building a giant apologetic "Metaphor!!!"-yelling barricade of "no matter what you find out, God still exists"-statements and beliefs. I don't know. You can revive the dead and they still don't have to move away from that point :s
I guess one of the reasons I'm so optimistic is that I'm seeing it in my own life. I was able to escape the cult, and I've seen it happen to most of my immediate friends and family too.
Something is changing, and it's happening all the sudden. I really think the balance has been tipped due to the internet.
But, like i said. We'll see. I'm open minded either way.
Basically, Christianity is the easiest target to go after. It is also the biggest target having the most members, and it is the religion in control of the worlds most power weapons.
IMO, once Christianity goes, the others will fall like dominoes. Might as well take out the easiest, most important target first.
You know why? because it is part of the Leftist Elitist religion to go after Christians. What a colossal waste of time and energy.
I say leave them behind and move on. Forgive and forget and expand your mind into more fruitful endeavors.
You can feel sorry for them as if they are stuck in quicksand and refuse to see it. Remember you were once there too. I scratch my head over this fact like it's a mosquito bite that won't go away.
Lol. "we" go after christians because we are surrounded by them in America with their agenda to convert us all. We are not going after them as much as we are trying to protect ourselves and our loved ones against them. Fundamentalism ruins morals and makes people evil.
Ha ha.. Dusty, you're so over the top you just kill me.
Seriously, hopefully you're right. A vision of mine is that America can be as strong a force for spreading secularism in the future as it has been for Christianity. To this point our intellectuals have been on board with that, but not the masses. Then collectively we can more effectively focus on Islam, which is the religion I'm most afraid of.
Anywho.. keep it up. The chroma-keying looks good.
I hope you are not just falling for the next religion of Leftism or Atheism. Why not stick with plain old Logic...
Though sometimes even Logic has it's limitations...
For example have you ever heard of the measurement Problem in quantum mechanics? The double slit test is the one I am referring to. It shows the conscious observer collapses the wave function of light photons. Interesting as all fuck!
LOGIC: "Everything I say is a lie."
Use logic to figure that one out and let me know.
Most of the children of christians today are atheist already, oh, that's gotta sting a bit.

338dmac 2 years ago
this video is dumb. your "ilk"? who would that be? people who aren't happy being atheists, or that think their identity relies on having to trash everyone else who isn't? i understand there are some christians who can't shut up about their beliefs, and they deserve to be criticized, but to go after everyone is just immature.

@cristoballs
it the principles that are the fact of the matter here....not the statistics, would you call a 40 year old man who believes in santa clause immature? better yet, would you call someone who poked fun at this man immature? well, im sorry to inform you, but that is human nature, and anyone who cannot accept the fact that we are going to ridicule what we dont believe in regardless of the nuisance factor is.......well, IMMATURE
TJmarian 2 years ago
@tj, the principles are the fact of the matter? and what would be those principles? that it doesn't matter what kind of person someone else is, if they believe in something you consider the least bit irrational, it's ok for you to ridicule them? now, to answer your questions. my answer is it that it depends. tell me something more about this person. is that his only defining characteristic, that he believes in santa? is that the way you view christians?
cristoballs 2 years ago
@cristoballs
it is up to the perceiver whether or not they wish to ridicule this person......and the principle of the matter is free speech, im tired of hearing people say that they are offended by something, sure, they have the right to say what they want, but we shouldnt limit someone elses rights just because it gets someone eles panties in a wad, what is the point of freedom of speech without freedom of offense? you cannot have one without the other
TJmarian 2 years ago
that's a crock! look if you want to be a jackass to everyone who calls themself a christian, that's fine, and yes, i understand that's your right as well. i don't need that explained to me. what i'm saying is it's a jackass move. millions of people are christians and haven't done anything to hurt this guy. but because he's been hurt by some he's going to take out his anger on all of them. give me a break! just because it's allowed, doesn't mean it's not a jackass move.
cristoballs 2 years ago
@cristoballs
christian propoganda is probably the most effective and irrational reason that many of our freedoms are in jeopardy......freedom of speech? not anymore, freedom of religion? well, im not blaming THAT one on christians, but take a glance at europe and the Sharia law thats enforced as of late......even beneficial scientific researches like stem-cell research, cloning, even SCIENCE in general is under constant attack by christians and other religious fundamentalists
TJmarian 2 years ago
not all christians are extreme fundamentalists who want to destroy science. most christians i know are just like you and me. they live decent lives and don't deserve to have their faith constantly being the subject of ridicule. if you want to go after a loudmouth fundamentalist, and attack the claims he makes, then do that. but don't make it out to be that every christian, muslim, or jew deserves the same disrespect just because they happen to believe in the same god.
cristoballs 2 years ago
"but don't make it out to be that every christian, muslim, or jew deserves the same disrespect just because they happen to believe in the same god." - I disagree with you to be perfectly frank. For me (and this is only an opinion) If you insult my intelligence and play a collective part in the propogation of talking snakes, talking bushes, walking zombies and so on.(take any religion you like) then it deserves ridicule and contempt.Literally.If that ridicule and contempt = disrespect then fine
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
I personally find it absurd that the notion of respect exists at all. Like a child, we tolerate the belief in the bogeyman because we know it seems real to the child. However how do you define respect. We respect this childs beliefs up until a point. Eventually that child must deal with reality. Ou respect for nonsense has it's limits. I place my limit at reality. If someone believes in majical sky daddy with all the trimmings then they simply get what funny beliefs deserve.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
as someone who used to be a christian, i can't really say i ever identified myself as someone who believed in talking snakes and that other stuff, and i wasn't alone. my religious/spiritual views had more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater. according to you, not even that deserves respect. and as for me becoming an atheist, it had absolutely nothing to do with people being jerks and giving me crap about my belief in god. just something to think about...
cristoballs 2 years ago
"my religious/spiritual views had more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater." - That description is more a deistic style non descript. There are some basic tenants of being a christian, if you can't or didn't subscribe to them then you can hardly call yourself christian. One of those is walking zombies. That of christs ressurection. Isn't that a fundamental part of christianity? Or the description of god, as omnipresent, omnipotent and so on?
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
"more to do with the idea that i felt we are all part of something greater." - Why should i respect that? The basis in which that opinion or "feeling" was constructed was nothing. Absolutely nothing, nada, zilch. What you are asking people to do is respect.... Nothing. Now onto being a jerk etc. I am not one for deliberately going out of my way to upset people etc. However if someone makes an issue out of displaying their belief then how is it any different when someone unbelief shows?
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
"and as for me becoming an atheist, it had absolutely nothing to do with people being jerks and giving me crap about my belief in god. just something to think about..." - Sure it is, but it does sure sound like you are presuming that the end game is to convert christians away from belief into becoming atheists. I have no such desire to do such a thing, If they are stupid then that is their problem, not mine. However i will make it clear that there is a very direct opposition to their beliefs.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
so then what is your purpose, if not to convert? to drive a wedge where one isn't needed? to simply insult people when they are doing no harm to you? grow up, dude. these people are not stupid. there are many religious people who wrestle with their faith daily. they don't need people like you and this cult of dusty guy calling them "stupid".
cristoballs 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
"to drive a wedge where one isn't needed?" - That is incredibly narrow minded if your presumption is that the only other alternative to not converting is to drive a wedge. Using any definition of stupid you can find can you tell me how religion seperates itself from that? Specifically (in this conversation) christianity, warts and all. Stupid is as stupid does.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
So to get onto my reasons for being quite anti religion is because it makes it very very clear that there is an intelligent purposeful opposition to religion and the claims that come out of it. This might seem pointless to you but left to their own devices religion does tend to denegrate into theocracy, everyone looking at each other to see who is not "goddy" enough and so on. See we might have an argument with fundies, but without that strong opposition so many more would be on the god parade.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
I will give you an example that might help you place my opposition in context. Here in Berlin, they wanted to force a referendum to give people a choice between studying religion, or ethics. Previously i think religion was optional. However they wanted to force a default of religion and people could opt out into ethics. This was championed by the church, not the state or education bodies. In short it was to push religion onto people. The people of Berlin came out and not only voted no (cont.)
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
The people of Berlin are quite passive, tolerant, certainly not the people that you would call the types to drive wedges. But even so, they came out in such numbers to specifically show a clear opposition to religion being forced on people. The odd thing was that the people that voted no did not even need to. The church had to get a large number of yes votes for this to go through. Not voting was as good as a no. Yet many times the number of people came out to mark a clear no!
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
My only wish is that when a religious person opens their mouth on that topic, that they are forced to examine the idiocies of what they are saying. It happens in politics. Using politics as an example, something as trivial as us managing our day to day lives, no politician can open their mouth without someone else critiscing them and even ridiculing them when they have stupid ideas without merit. This is discourse, religion seems to be protected from that. When in reality it is not.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
i have no problem with confronting an individual who makes a claim based on their religious beliefs. what i have a problem with is insulting every single person who happens to be a christian because there are some who can't keep their personal beliefs to themselves.
cristoballs 2 years ago
What do you define as an insult though. It does seem that the bar in which insults are set is quite low when it comes to religion in general. I do think no matter how you approach this subject you will always have religious people claiming of been insulted. I also notice this notion of being insulted seems to be a defense from the poorly educated. Rarely do i hear an educated person blame others for their feelings of being insulted. It does tend to be the poorly educated in society that do that.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
i'm sorry... i'm just amazed at the sheer arrogance of your last statement that i really don't know how to answer you. you're so anti-religion that you don't even understand what's insulting? for one thing, people don't deserve to be judged as being "poorly educated" simply because they are religious. that is insulting.
cristoballs 2 years ago
"i'm sorry... i'm just amazed at the sheer arrogance of your last statement" - Actually this is a good demonstration of how some people literally look for ways to feel insulted. If you read what i said, I SAID that I have never heard an educated person claim they feel insulted. Never, I HAVE NEVER. ME.Get it? Nothing in the realms of treading lightly ever suggests that i can't tell you that I HAVE NEVER heard a well educated person claim to be insulted in the same manner that poorly eds do.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
"Rarely do i hear an educated person blame others for their feelings of being insulted" I was specifically talking about the notion of "being insulted" and for that it requires no comment at all on their religious standing. Please be advised that it is not arrogance if it is simply true.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
"you're so anti-religion that you don't even understand what's insulting?" - Not really, i asked you define what an insult is simply (and now i do talk religion) because it varies from person to person. For some, simply being an atheist is an insult. ergo i am being insulting. I am, i am the atheist and that insults. Where is the line? I was asking the question.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
insult - to treat someone with indignity. now, i realize some people are more sensitive than others, this goes for atheists as well as christians. however, i think for most people an insult is pretty easy to spot, like saying someone is poorly educated because they belong to a particular religion.
cristoballs 2 years ago
"like saying someone is poorly educated because they belong to a particular religion." - Well for one i did not say that. But now, to use that example. What if i was to simply read off a report that (for all intents and purposes says the same thing) the less educated you are the more likely you are to be religious?Would that be insulting, even though it has been demonstrated a number of times. Do you see my point?I think you are conserned not with the truth, but the feeling behind presenting it.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
Sorry to post so much on this topic, please don't think that i am going especially out of my way to be antagonistic but it is something that i really do have an interest in. This notion of stupid. See i also notice there seems to be this big argument that stupid means that the person is stupid therefore that stupidity rules all aspects of someones life. A christian would then try and say something like, christians are not stupid, look at this and look at that. We are all stupid to some degrees.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago
look. i'm not going to argue on this much further. i think the sort of behavior which described in this video is childish. it does nothing but cause animosity, and i don't support it.
cristoballs 2 years ago
"it does nothing but cause animosity" - You mean like that notion of hell, that some people are going to heaven but i am not? Sorry Cristoballs, i read a lot of your comments and am on the same page with a lot about what you say. On this topic though i think you are completely blinkered. The first person to throw an insult started civilisation. I think you really have blinkered views about the whole "insult" thing, completely disregarding insults as a valid form of expression also.
TheSpankymonkey 2 years ago 2
cristoballs - Would you consider that the notion of being insulted is somewhat backwards too?

Thank man. I know you mean well.
I understand the pilgrims founded this country. They came in and murdered all the people who were already here and stole their land.
They gave the Indians blankets with smallpox to wipe them out in ways you wouldn't even treat an animal.
I understand the history of this country all to well. It's VERY Christian.
And that's exactly why I want to abolish it.

I think the dogma as a whole will have to go before we can really evolve to the next level.
I mean, we really need to be a society that spends 40 cents out of every tax dollar on Science instead of war like we do now.
We need to transform every church into a science center. We need to celebrate intelligence instead of celebrity.
And I just don't think any of these things will happen while the christian dogma has control of our society.
That's my main thought and concern on this matter.

I think your "logic" is flawed.
Gays only make up 2% of the population and , who really give a fuck what they want?
SputnikMedia 2 years ago
@SputnikMedia it's more like 10%. There are more gay people than Jews in this country. And Jews can get married to each other.
SconeMason 2 years ago
The Kinsey study of 1948, which homosexuals often cite to say that 10% of the population is homosexual, actually says that only 4% of the population is EXCLUSIVELY homosexual. This study involved a disproportionate number of people who had been in jail for sex crimes (hardly a random sample of the population). Kinsey also did perverse studies involving young boys and pedophiles. Information on Kinsey.
Current research shows that the true percentage of homosexuals is in the 1-2% range.
SputnikMedia 2 years ago
One study should that in late teens, 6% of males have had one homosexual experience and 14% of woman have also. Bisexuality is a lot higher than strict homosexuality. But it really doesn't matter, statistics are informed guessing.
AtheistxNinja 2 years ago
yeah i can see that.
SputnikMedia 2 years ago

Not trying to win you over. Just saying. Not really any good information on it in general. All the info can be skewed by what you think about fashion or what I think to be fear not to come out. We cannot really know without further investigation. It is all just opinion.
AtheistxNinja 2 years ago
not really. Scientific Method utilizes statistics all the time. If studies are conducted properly , usually the data is pretty reliable. Much like the data that suggest that most Christians love incest.
SputnikMedia 2 years ago
Well I won't argue with that!
AtheistxNinja 2 years ago
actually to be honest .

I have no fear about talking shit about Islam. At all. It's just that if I did, far fewer people would watch or care. It's a much more boring subject than Christianity to most people.
If you don't believe me simply examine views on videos about Islam compared to videos about Christianity.

You might very well be right.
I believe, though, that the incredibly advances in technology we are seeing will be the end of world religion. It's just a matter of "when" and not "if".
I admit I might be overly optimistic though. Time will tell. =)
CultOfDusty 2 years ago
The problem with technological progress vs religion is that 95% of religion has reached the point of "he's there anyway!!! nanananana" a good century ago. The majority of Christianity already gave up defending the "Word Of God" in the 19th century and started building a giant apologetic "Metaphor!!!"-yelling barricade of "no matter what you find out, God still exists"-statements and beliefs. I don't know. You can revive the dead and they still don't have to move away from that point :s
V0r4xiz 2 years ago
I guess one of the reasons I'm so optimistic is that I'm seeing it in my own life. I was able to escape the cult, and I've seen it happen to most of my immediate friends and family too.
Something is changing, and it's happening all the sudden. I really think the balance has been tipped due to the internet.

What about other religions like Islam and Judaism?

IMO, once Christianity goes, the others will fall like dominoes. Might as well take out the easiest, most important target first.
CultOfDusty 2 years ago

You know why? because it is part of the Leftist Elitist religion to go after Christians. What a colossal waste of time and energy.

You can feel sorry for them as if they are stuck in quicksand and refuse to see it. Remember you were once there too. I scratch my head over this fact like it's a mosquito bite that won't go away.

Thanks man. Over the top seems to be the only way to reach people these days.
Agreed. We will take out Christianity first, and then Islam and the rest will fall like dominoes. In theory. =)

Hey bat,
I am familiar with quantum mechanics and the double slut experiment. I love that stuff. Much of my time is devoted to research on those subjects.
I don't really see the connection though between that and my videos.
From everything I've read, most quantum physicists hold the exact same views that I do, and in fact, their views helped to shaped mine.

"Double Slut experiment"...
Now there is one I'd like to try some day!
