There are runestones that are saying Swedes went west with the norwegians and danes aswell. To see Swedes only being traders are kinda narrow. Im from Skåne so I dont really trying to boost the Swedes viking history as the ones from Skåne probably went with the danes anyway.

FYI, Lindholm Høje is in a Northern precinct of Aalborg, looking down south across the Limfjord, it is a beautiful site where we enjoy a Viking market every last weekend of June.

It is a quite good documentary, but I think they make a mistake when they devide the population between vikings and traders.
Obviously not everybody went raiding, but many did. . .for some it was a way of living, others only went on a single raid and then went back to farm their land.

Once, Norvegir, or Norway, held Isle of Man, Normandie, Vinland, Greenland (no small island), Iceland, big chunks of Sweden, Faroe Islands.. but it was all "given away" or abandoned.

As far as i know, the norwegian discovered Iceland.
The swedish stayed vikings the longest, while denmark and norway turned christian,
and Denmark conquered most of britain, and some of nothern france.

Well, occationally some danes or something came peddling up along the coast here to get their ass kicked, one thing that was established well in Norvegir was the varde's; bonfire alert system on top of mountains along the coast. This gave defenders time to come together and jump any invaders.
And with regards to the pope and those scoundrels... not very welcome here, until a sudden turn with sort of an "attack from within".

It's impossible to say which country had the "best" vikings. What we do know is, the biggest viking fleet ever seen sailed from Norway to England in 1066.
