I agree. I like seeing both of these birds in the back yard. The jay no longer visits our feeder. I guess he found a place where he can enjoy a meal in peace.
Maybe the mockingbird has a nest or chicks nearby and doesn't want the scrub jay to get in their way. Even though the poor jay is just chowing down. My cat gets pestered by both of these birds haha.

That's hilarious because I usually see scrub jays dive-bombing squirrels, once I saw a jay annoy a much larger crow.
