The point is that having these dedicated months to specifically celebrate these accomplishments is segregation and racism in it's most benign and well hidden form: It is disguised as a good thing. The point is that having these dedicated months to specifically celebrate these accomplishments is segregation and racism in it's most benign and well hidden form: It is disguised as a good thing. @rudy032190 Yes, it is. You wouldn't understand this being European, but Americans like to face mistakes and try not to forget them. We remember so that we don't make that same mistake. The month was created by the son of a former slave in 1926, as a reminder of past mistakes and a celebration of what had been done (because many of the accomplishments of blacks in America were shunned or never mentioned).

This was done to try and make the Descendants of African Slaves feel grateful to Whites for bringing them to America Enslaving them and then "Freeing" them. I also think black history month is belittling why not everyday because its programming us to only celebrate our people march-january

I think that every History month is useless, no matter your race, there is a global history, and not a specific one, you guys are black, born and raised in USA, your history is the USA history, as same as the other races in hte USA territory.
Only global history is the right one in my opinion, it is wrong to make it racial.
