  • I had the exacta $1,979.60 see my video " Jimfromearth".

  • WHAT A HORSE

  • 1:32 and change....whoo hooo she was cooking.

  • When I saw Gladiatorus at the 09' Dubai Carnival, he was a really big, physically imposing horse that totally dominated the Jaguar XL Trophy, the Al Fahidi Fort, and the Duty Free that year. But when he came to Santa Anita for this race. He looked very thin and very frail. Almost to the point of looking unhealthy, I felt. This turned out to be the final race of Gladiatorus's career. He's now standing stud at a farm somewhere in Italy?

  • Sidneys Candy tonight!

  • Sydneys Candy wire to wire.

  • @bluetiege £30 on her tonight :)

  • Watching the replay of this race, it makes me wonder if perhaps Gladiatorus wasn't doped when he put three massive speed figures during the 2009 Dubai Racing Carnival. He ran three very good field's completely off of their feet. Culminating in the Dubai Duty Free. Where he smashed Presvis, Paco Boy, Alexandros, Vodka, Imbongi, and a host of other class horses. That high knee action he has, I'd love to see him one time on conventional dirt.

  • I meant she..sorry any proviso fans out there.

  • @sonofscrewcap I'm definitely a fan of Proviso. As much as I'm rooting Goldikova to three-peat in the Mile, I'm getting the feeling while she's hands-down the best hoirse in the race, she may be vulnerable this time around. The horses I'm most concerned about are as you said, Proviso, Gio Ponti and Paco Boy. The turn of foot that Proviso showed in her last start at Keeneland was sensational. I know that Goldikova beat her over in Europe but now, I think they're pretty much on even ground.

  • Proviso looks like he might give her a little something to think about.

But lets be honest apart from Paco Boy,there isnt really anything for Goldy to concern herself about.Goldy has beaten better horses her entire career than what she faces from the States. The same cant be said about the American horses in respect to Goldy.

But i really hope she isnt ridden the same as she was last year, because she wont win if she is...too much quality this year.My heart says Goldy my head says Paco.

  • @sonofscrewcap, Even if Goldikova win's the Breeders Cup Mile again? At her current odd's, which will likely only continue to get shorter as post time draws nearer, there's no money to be made on Goldikova anyway. I think Gio Ponti at 6-1 is a good bet. Also, I definitely like Proviso's chances at 11-1. Proviso is a very different mare than the one Goldikova out-finished twice in 2008 in Europe. She's in the best form she's ever been in her whole career, IMO.

  • Goldikova is looking at a tougher field for the 2010 B.C. Mile than she's faced in 2008 or 2009, IMO. Court Vision, having just won the G1 Woodbine Mile. Proviso, 4 straight G1 win's at a mile or 9 furlongs. Gio Ponti having just won the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile. Sidney's Candy, the G2 La Jolla Handicap. Setting a new Del Mar turf course record for 8-1/2 furlongs in his first ever start on turf. Goldikova beat Justenuffhumor by a half-length in 2009. All of these horses are better than him. IMO.

  • @GBeret83 1/2 a length maybe but it was all about timing and from stall 14 Olivier did what he had to do. No more, no less. But I do agree this is her toughest assignment yet and Gio Ponte is a big danger.

  • @Stanters1967, I think you're right. If the ground at Churchill Downs suits Goldikova? Then I think everyone else is running for 2nd place money. If she struggles at all with the surface? I think Gio Ponti or Proviso have the best shot at being right there to pick up the pieces. TJMO.

  • @GBeret83 I made my comments before Gio Ponte was running. He is a big danger, and pretty good value for betting purposes.

And as for Proviso, yes shes improved but she certainly hasn't beaten a horse of Goldy Or Paco Boys quality.Im not saying she couldn't,but I Dont think she will.

Head says Paco but my heart prays for Goldy. For third i would go for Gio Ponte

  • @sonofscrewcap, I agree with you. If it's even possible that Goldikova can be beaten in this race? And that's a huge if? I think probably given the number of G1 win's he has on turf as well, that Gio Ponti might be the most likely candidate to do it. I know what you mean about Proviso. Even being in the form she's in, something would have to be off from Goldikova for her to have a chance? My hesitation on backing Paco Boy is that he's never raced well outside of Europe.

  • She would have won this race by 5 if she didn't have to change paths about 150 yrds from the finish. Longer strech for her to work with this year at Churchill. Unless it rains, book it. She's easy.

  • lol! stopped to consider the times and records on small tracks especially in California, after 6 furlong seen it do anything that man! I do not think the horses you speak have the class members that Goldi, Paco and even Gio Ponti.

  • The real chance for the Americans this year (on turf) look to be Sidney's Candy and Twirling Candy. I'm not sold on Paddy O Prado or Gio Ponti. But Sidney's Candy has broken a track record at Del Mar and Twirling Candy looks even more impressive. I would like to see Twirling Candy get involved in a race with Goldikova. It might be interesting, especially if TC can show a little more maturity and not smash into other horses, shift lanes, or stumble when cooling down.

  • IMO, I think that so far this year, there is no horse that can beat Goldikova. However, I would keep Aidan O'brien horses in mind when assembling your tickets this year. If you've noticed, which has been a change of order for AO and Ballydoyle, He hasn't overran his choice horses this year. In years past, when it was time to send them to the BC, his horses had a great deal of races. They ran in all of the classics etc. But keep his horses in mind this year!

  • @GBeret83 it was a short head and she was never getting beat, as ford Byword she made him look like a slow horse two out and again like she did at Ascor idled in front thinking she had done her job and Byword stayed on for second but would never have beat her in a million year. Dont forget that trip stretches her limit, if it was a mile race byword was beat 2 or 3 lengths. Banker of the Breeders Cup is Goldikova without a doubt, she might even stay out and win 4

  • "Just Horse's. Who wait with all their own resorces, Horses for courses! Don;t you wish you could close;;; The issue'! The horse will tell you. Till thenI I suggest you blow your nose? Another 'Dirt Mile'?

  • Even in that BC Mile I would pick Goldikova. Those are all great runners but as Trevor said it Goldikova is something special. She is one of my all time favorites

  • Who would win this BCM: Arazi,Atticus,Cozzene,Da Hoss,Goldikova,Hawk Wing,Miesque,Lure,Rock Of Gibraltar,Royal Academy,Val Royal,War Chant?

  • She is really something, at the top of the stretch, just look at her acceleration, she really has very powerful strides best miler of all time i think.

  • With all the fuss about Zenyatta and Rachel, both excellent fillies, this is a filly that often get's forgotten. Goldikova is an awesome filly in her own right, a back to back world champion at the mile distance, and has one of the quickest turn of feet that I've ever seen on any horse.

  • Her turn of foot over a mile is second to none, she as her place in history now, one of the all time greats.

  • overcame some trouble also. really much the best again.

  • Goldikova the best horse of Ireland. Won this race us John Henry. Fabulous.

  • Goldikova is amazing! Great.. awesome filly!!

  • The fillies are amazing - beginning to outshine many of the colts.

  • There are some amazing camera angles at this years Breeders Cup.

  • miesque vs goldikova vs ridgewood Pearl would be some race

  • Best miler that I have ever seen. I am sure there have been a bunch in Europe over the years... Ramonti was nice. Ridgewood Pearl was the best in my mind until I saw this race, they are close, but Goldikova won the mile twice.

  • Goldikova!!!, what a filly, really a legend.....wonderful.....

  • Absoulute legend of a filly. So easy to be underrated this season, but not when when you pay for my night out Goldi! <£.

  • Goooooooooooooldikovaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Awesome Awesome filly!
