The reason the Nighthawk lost to those Drakes is because the Drakes had Thunderbolts for EM dmg. If that Nighthawk had a few Thunderbolts going, he probably would have won.

I was the NH pilot.. I dont use EM missiles, becouse the first thing what i usually fit for a heavy tanking drake is an EM hardener :) (I had one on my NH to) .. so I used thermal dmg (not exp noobs:P) :P

But for dropping shields fast EM is the way to go.

I think they fitted EM hardener to.. not the EM resist was the lowest..

True, but if you notice, the nighthawk was doing a pretty good job on the one drake up until it's shields broke. That extra bit of EM damage might have at least popped one of the drakes before the math ended.

This is not a "video Game" that you can just launch and play... I tried to play this game two years ago, and I uninstalled it the day after because I just couldn't seem to pick it up quickly and play the damn thing, I don't really have the patience to be flipping through a ton of settings and options just to play a game.

Do any of the battles take place on the planets and on the ships? is this anything like stagecraft or any regular RPG

Well, no and no. It's a strategic MMO where your ship is, effectively, your "character. You can create a pilot, but until CCP implements walking in stations, you can't leave the ship.

Yeaahh Baby Drakes are the sh*t. I've been PVPing with a Drake for almost a year. Every where i go I hear "Drakes not a PVP ship,etc". What ever. It is. The Drake will last a long time and it you have it setup right (passive) It won't even really need alot of cap. I've been able to tank 2 BC and 2 Tech 2 BC's before. I love this ship.... Great fight guys.

You know what's wrong with shooting the Drakes last? When you shoot the Drakes last you don't have enough left to shoot with! One in the eye for those who underestimate the Drake as a PvP ship.

No reason to do that vs a missile based ship, if he were up against something with turrets it might have been a good idea though.

Wouldn't the missiles connect sooner for the ship being in close, while the solo ship is commited to the longer range, taking longer time to connect with his damage?

Well you have a point, but since heavy missiles are pretty fast anyway it wouldn't do mouch differance i bet.

Missile DPS isn't improved at different ranges, since the missiles aren't fired when they hit, they've got a fixed rate of fire. So, the initial alpha damage would be received faster, nothing else.
