The caves are home to King Solomans temple which is the largest wall of calcite flowstone in the UK :D Making it the largest lump of natural mineral lol
jim, i am glad to tell you that you are helping me pass my geography exam, which i am sitting on 17th january! since i never had the chance to visit various villages in UK (i live in Cyprus), your video has helped me a lot and gave me quite a lot of information. for my A-level Exam i need to know case studies of rural UK villages, which have experienced change due to high tourist inflows. thanks once again, keep up the good job with your videos!!
Wonderful video Jim and so informative. I've always wanted to visit England so these videos are great cause this is as close as I'm going to get to England for now.
This is better than the travel channel ;) as someone who has never had an opportunity to travel, I really appreciate these. i'd LOVE to visit England one day.. so incredibly beautiful, thanks!
So where can we get the real thing in the US? Nice video Jim, I love seeing these. The village reminds me of a town not too far from us called New Hope. Ours is of course much newer. :)
Not sure we can get "real" cheddar cheese here, Mike -- i.e. cheese made in Cheddar. Depends wheather it's pasteurized or not. If not, it can't be imported. Cheese made here is real cheddar, just not the original.
Another great video, Jim! Hey, guys, I'm a native-born American and I've known since childhood that cheddar cheese originated in Cheddar, UK. I was also taught that the real cheddar cheese is not the yucky yellow we're used to in the U.S.
There really should be something on ALL packets of cheddar cheese letting people know where the stuff originated from. Yes, CHEDDAR is Somerset, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! We have Cumberland Sausage here in Carlisle, Cumbria and if you see it elsewhere it ain't Cumberland Sausage, so there!! :-)
You've done it again Jim -very interesting and great views of the area. I like how we see Joan (I think) walking away in the different areas! Any chance of her doing a piece to camera?
Nice tour, Jim. You show the kinds of things that I would like to see if I were visiting the area. I never associated cheddar cheese with England. It is common here to purchase Wisconsin (U.S. state) cheedar cheese. I am eagerly awaiting part 2 of tour.
HAHAHA! I forgot tell you this, but that has to be the best opening to any video so far.
"Well, today we are heading towards those hills in the distance. That is known as the Mendip Hills, and they GOT A VERY HIGH MINERAL CONTENT."
Jim!!! Of all the random facts that could be put in this video; THAT is the best choice!!!
