@tomtrilobite I couldn't have said it better... Beautifully created Video.. Cinematic with Stills.... a true artistic visionary! I always loved this track and he interpreted it beautifully.
FIY: The director of this video just won an Oscar (Susanne Bier, "In a better world") and the man in the video is Mikael Bertelsen, Danish journalist and tv personality.
really beautiful composition, and voices, synths arrangments! They knew how to compose a song at that times! Still got 2 cds Forever Young and The Breathtaking blue....
the video is sooooo beautiful, is it a clip from a film, if yes what is its name...........my god why don't they make such music\videos nowadays, so ephemeral, beautiful, soul enlightening music ....miss the 80's
I've owned several of their discs but never have seen this video. Very atmospheric and elegant. Somehow it reminds me of my vision of what 'The Great Gatsby' would have looked like in real life. That or perhaps reminiscent of 'Somewhere in Time'. Either way, what a beautiful and poignant video underscored by a lush sound with incredible production work. Five stars!
In this track Marian sounds a lot like Peter Skellern. Alphaville have produced some fine music over the years but seem to have always been badly managed. Marian Gold should sing more of these tracks with good musical scores on piano and synth rather than thrashing out on stage with electric guitar and drums. The standard of the live performances both musically and visually is well below what can be achieved.
This is an incredibly beautiful, artistically well-done video that draws out intense emotions. I love it. Does anybody know if this is an actual movie?
Oh my god. I've never noticed this before now, but the guy in this video is Mikael Bertelsen, who hosted his first talkshow on Danish television DR2 (Denmark's Radio 2) in 1999, ten years after this video was made. I love that guy. He's so funny.
I like it very much. The breathtaking Blue album could seem very unusual respect to the preceeding works, but it shows the musical development of this band.
Fantastic, amazing, calm and strong at the same time, but not boring at all!!
THis is my favorite Alphaville song or at least right up there with Jerusalem, Forever Young, of course with Alphaville how could one even have a favorite, the band is so talented both musically and lyricly, thanks for posting this AWESOME video

A very touching song , and a mystifyingly-unique accompanying video, as well. It really put the hook in me that's for sure.
