  • Just for info...Flea did not play in Fear before the Peppers....he played with them after they had already started playing together.....which means that you should check out the album Fear..More Beer!

  • One of the top rated comments stated that HATE was before the Chilis.....they put out their first album in 84 and had already put out their 5th album by this time with Mother's Milk.

  • heaviness. you never saw this type of aggression in the chili peppers

  • is john frusciante isnt it?

  • fishbone! Miss that band!

  • Someone puts up rare footage that people wouldn't see otherwise; yet some complain about the length of the intro and the quality.

    You've gotta laugh.

    Thanks for this, raw420x.

  • haha....straight edge, yet flea's got a fuckin cig in his mouth

  • @funkbass69 u do realise that when minor threat wrote straight edge they didnt indent for it to become an extremist group of violent "anti-drug" fuckheads.... i LOVE minor threat, i LOVE the song straight edge, i HATE! the straight edge extremist movement.....

  • @Christophanus Oh, I completely agree with you; MacKaye and company had no intentions of starting the Straight Edge movement, or any other movement for that matter. They were a band, who by instilling their attitudes towards life through their music, gave people an alternative way to look at things. They were always about being fiercely independent and staying true to one's self. I love Minor Threat; I was blasting their 1st EP earlier today! I just found it ironic that Flea was smoking :)

  • its actully funny cause flea and john wern't even strait edge at that time...haha

  • @CalGuitarPlaying18 u do realise that when minor threat wrote straight edge they didnt indent for it to become an extremist group of violent "anti-drug" fuckheads.... i LOVE minor threat, i LOVE the song straight edge, i HATE! the straight edge extremist movement..... and wtf do u mean "werent at the time", they were never fucking straight edge... btw john has said in recent interviews he has always smoked pot and occasionally takes other drugs

  • I hate the long little intros you put on your vids. :( Such great footage you have here. Thanks a lot.

  • listen to my straight edge cover i sing too watch?v=Wf4JU-NEHFI

  • so is your mother

  • i hate it when people put annoying text intros... we have to wait 30 secs till the vid actually start :|

  • this is so fucking awesome!!!

    thanks for posting this shit

  • bad quality

  • wow. had no idea that flea and john wear in a hardcore band together before the peppers. just makes my respect for hardcore go up that much more (plus it answers my question of why flea was in the movie American Hardcore).

  • Flea was also in the punk rock movie "Suburbia" from 1981. Thier punk cover band was during the chili peppers......

  • Suburbia 1981??? Try more like 84

  • well it says in the movie when they first show someone what band they were in. so all you had to do was look at the bottom of the screen and see the word FEAR in caps and look it up on the internet...

  • @kgesme21 Dude, Flea played bass in FEAR before the Peppers, learn your history! Please don't say you don't know the amazing FEAR, with Lee Ving (he was an actor) on vocals!

  • nice

  • I dig hardcore punk but not straight edge movement, for many reasons.. Many X-people are very intolerant, I rather listen some GG Allin classics or Poison Idea.

  • Thanks rawx, you rock nearly as much as these crazy motherfuckers

  • great video

  • funny that used his WAL live with this band, but not with the peppers

  • right on...thanks for sharing this...once again...

gotta dig the energy...they just let it fly...

  • was this in L.A?

  • yes, they didn't play to much, this show was at the club lingerie' in Hollywood. March, 16 1991. I was just thinking about how they are the greatest cover band to ever play in my opinion.

  • I heard that when they first started playing people thought that John and Flea were just chili lookalikes but when people found out, loads of chili fans kept turning up and that they were forced to break up the band. Is there any truth in that Raw?

  • I remember hearing something about that, it's very vague, I worked with them in 1989, then a few years later after mothers milk came out, at the club lingerie in March of 1991, you can tell in the 91 show there is alot more fans .... as for the break up, that would be a good reason too....

  • great
