well let me say i understand im from Connecticut, I played baseball there when i was younger. I never got to move up from jr majors to majors because i was better then the other kids, Im now 20 and i play baseball in college so all he has to do is keep pushen and get out of connecticut because there no good they stop good talent all the time so there kids can play.
Also, even if he is that much better than the others, again 44mph is not so fast, one child should not have that much impact on the whole game at that age. Where we play, and our kids are eligible for the little league world series televised on ESPN, each child can only throw so many balls per week based on his age. We play two games a week and go through several pitchers. We have been up by quite a bit only to have it turn around when we use up our best pitcher.
Are they letting this boy pitch the whole game? Isn't that bad for his arm? If not, then let him play and take your lumps (metaphoricaly)and wait for the next pitcher.
This has to be about something else. My sons went to a baseball "camp" put on by our local professional farm league baseball team. My 9 year old- who truely has the second weakest arm his little league team- threw 44mph when they let each kid clock. My 7 yr old threw 46mph. This is not remarkable! Also, my 9 yr old has been hit by pitchers in his age group throwing MUCH faster than he can. No injury, a little sting. Guess what, he was proud of himself for shaking it off.
They are punishing a child for being to good at somthing. While the children that aren't good are getting rewarded for this. Whats this teaching kids today. If someone is better at something just get rid of him. Bottom line is if your child is afraid of him dont let your kid play. Dont punish this little boy because other children aren't as good. This entire league should be shut down if this is the mentality they instilling in todays youth. Jericho Scott has a gift why are others so jealous
