  • My brother used to sing this song and I was wondering why he was listening to a bunch of white dudes sing soul. Damned if I wasn't soon singing alongside him. Now that's scary good.

  • Went to their a 1976 concert at the richfield coliseum in Cleveland. It was great. Got wasted lol and met alot of chicks haha.

  • a classic from AWB!

  • it doesnt matter what color a singer or musician is does the music make you feel someyhing? well then what the fuck is the problem!!!!!!!!!!

  • 9 white people must think they should stick to country music

  • @MansaKemwer Nothing wrong with Country Music, Jazz, Pop, Hard Rock, Metal. Some people actually have an open mind to music; to appreciate all types of music. Then again, I've been a musician for 40 years - so [maybe] I appreciate all types of music more than most.

  • oh it is sad why can just like people for people, why this "just say you like them?" I do and it is ok but i like all people! I hope this help and pleases you! Too put this here like i am someone did an wrong act? Or something so bad, i am happy with those whom treat me good! Those whom are kind to me as i am!

  • @mstdfoster Them! Them! Where did you get that Them 369 from?

  • man when i frist heard this song thought they were ALL black ..............go head white brothers sangggggggggggggggg

  • @shekeilaful even funnier they from Scotland

  • @shekeilaful That's why they were called the Average WHITE band. I'm sure the vocals are the Brotha, though. =)

  • @MamaNuveau No, the lead singers are actually white guys. Check some of their live performances and videos.

  • @dienglee Get OUT!!! WOW! I assumed because the lead sounds so SOULFUL, so I assumed that it HAD to be the one black guy, and that was why he was in the group, but he must play an instrument too. Come to think of it, I actually saw them in concert here a few years back and don't recall a black guy singing lead. Thanks! Guess that's why they say you shouldn't assume. =)

  • @shekeilaful I DID TOO!

  • @shekeilaful yo damn I was about to say the same thing my pops had them back in the day and until this day i thought I never looked at album covers

  • I wore this LP flat out a couple of times back in the late 70's. Couldn't get enough of it back then. AWB was smoking back then. I never thought of them as a white band, just a great band with dood music. In Montgomery, Al we had a Black AM radio station called WAPX . They had a white DJ named Bill Duke. He called himself the blue eyed soul brother. LOL. That's when I first heard the term and that was 1965. Good old days and so many great memories. Thanks GoldenBell 1991 for the upload..

  • i love 70's music and im only 25. This song puts me in the zone

  • I did NOT know this song was by them!

  • PURE SOUL!!!!

  • Made a lot of loving and kissing and all that goes with it to this song baby...what sweet and hot memories...thanks for posting!

  • I absolutely WORSHIP the music of the 70's! Music itself has always been a true passion of mine, and my High School & College years (the 70's), were absolutely PHEMOMINAL in terms of the amount of top quality vocalists & bands that created music during that period. The "Average White Band" flat out KICKED ASS! They, along with Hall & Oates & Michael McDonald......were absolute MONSTERS of the "Blue-Eyed Soul" genre. Music like this crossed all racial barriers.......COMPLETELY ENJOYABLE!

  • this is when white bands found out they could play black MUSIc

  • @thrilladijaq22 I dont know bout that!! i wonder what the motive was for a long time...Everybody is busy now trying to mock black folks in everything!

  • @cbnboy34 But if you remember those times were the that GOOD MUSIC WAS JUST THAT GOOD MUSIC !!!

  • Man I could sit and listen to this song all day. And I love white guys? Damn love the one with the long hair. That's me all the way. The song makes me want to find a love of my own.

  • I PICTURE THE VAN CRAZE IN THE 1970'S AND HOW MANY BABIES WERE MADE TO THIS TUNE AT THE DRIVE IN MOVIE

  • I agree it is one of the greatest love songs in history along with the Ojays The Isley Brothers LTD and Slave Just a touch of love.

  • some soulful ass white boys . i love this one

  • Tell me if it's me....but something about this song...goes all the

way to my bones.....thnks for sharing :)

  • Sexxy!!! <3 #nuffsaid

  • pure MILK!!!

  • I was mad because everytime I heard this song on the radio they never said who sang it. Thank you shazam for finally hookin a brother up.

  • For some reason this song always reminded me of a stripper friend that I met in Pensacola at Honey Baked Ham. She works in Dallas and I told her she could get rich if she danced to this song. I wonder if she ever did...get rich that is. Ha, Ha...here's to all the sexy ladies who know how to pick all the right songs.

  • when this song came out, I thought it was the sexiest song ever!!

  • Bad bad baddddddd

  • the greatest year ever 1976 luv it classic!

  • platinum cut.

  • Cadillac music. Not the new GermaN built caddy. FisherbodY Cadillac.. Set that cruise control and ride.....

  • @cartoonist1975 Right on, brotha.

  • this song is one of the best , it the slow jam that when i get home and my funky white boy want to put this black girl in the mode to say how you like it big daddy

  • What do you know about this song??? What do you know about This Song???Proud to say I Lived It. Saw them in concert. Still seeing them. A Love of My Own, that I will gladly share.

  • this is IT!!!

  • 7 ppl need to go home and jump off their roofs! this is the fuckn knock right here!!!!

  • It was frowned upon buy the white establishment of the day for white boys to feel and sing soul music music so convincingly. Soul music was considered less refined and therefore unsuitable for white sensibilities. AWB broke that mold but sadly, Hamish, the lead singer was co-opted away from AWB by Paul McCartney and Wings to play keyboards. His soulful voice was never heard again. Hamish's Scottish whiskey tenor sounded great on top of AWB's funky rhythms and Harmonies.

  • No one believe this was a white band, they are Scottish too, I was a teen a young one , growing up it sad to say but people only thought only black singer could get soul this is so not true i listen to all white station on the radio and this was like no black songs for years for me so i heard good songs all aroud love it all

  • @jane78ist Your comment sounds suspect! There is a reason black music is called "Black"! If you like white men ,,then thats fine! Just say you like them because they are white

  • I wonder if these men really understood the impact they had on us at that juncture in our American culture??

  • love this group! This is my song!

  • hearing this again still gives goosebumps, ha love it.

  • This is truly classic, REAL, Real instrumentation and musicianship at it's finest. If only we could get music like this back?!

  • This what I call real soul music not that bubble gum bullshit

  • just responding to cw77... actually the first real white soul group that smoked the black clubs on the chitlin circuit was the Magnificent men who where the first and only white group to headline the apollo in the mid 60's. They have some live cuts from a concert at the uptown in philly that will blow u away. peace of mind, ive been trying, misty, ETC just saying

  • @healtheinsidechild

Any idea how to get the live cuts from philly?

  • This was the baddest first "White" R & B band, they will always be legends! They were more than just a group, like Elivs made history through Rock-N-Roll (proving that music was colorless, this is the band that proved the same.

  • this is the shit! nice ol'school, don"t make this kind of music no more.

  • Always some haters ain't It?

  • Baddest white boys to ever pick a mike or instrument! And they did before it was cool!

  • 7 people have neither soul, nor taste in music.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ... MUSIC IS COLORLESS!

    Thanks.

  • Smoove , pure funk & soul ...whats happened to our music??? AWB is as funky as any band of that era....up tempo and slow...doesnt matter, these boys were badd!

  • See them every time they're in the Philadelphia area. DEFINITELY not average...

  • If this song doesn't move your soul you had better check your pulse!!!!!!

  • I love this song and the voices of men with a tender heart, I am thankful for this and hopefully men in the future will be restored to this kind of tenderness and reasonability...

  • The badest white boys I have ever seen

  • Thank you Moyosimba, for sharing this sweet and classic share with me....feeling the groove ; ) To our host * * * * *!

  • i don't smoke weed anymore but this here, makes me wanna roll a fat one light it up, turn the lights down low, and just be with my woman doing that romantic thang.

  • ive heard three version of this song nd i never thought i wuld,: it went from hearing this sampled by Luke, to Howard Hewett, to this... the original nd to be honest i like the 2 but i love this one as well... nd im an oldies lover so of coarse i love this right here.
