We have one girl in our platoon, and let me tell you, she's not one of those Russian athletes of undeterminable origin, but she is one of the toughest soldiers I've ever run into. Whatever we do, she pulls through with a smile on her lips and not a single complaint. She carries everything we carry. She crawls through the same mud we crawl through. Suitability for being a soldier is about the person, not the gender. Get with the times.

Just for the record to end all the tampon & UTI talk a tampon can last up to 10 hours plus now BC injections can allow you to NOT have your period if you choose as for UTI that's what antibiotics in advance prevent. Fuck it's not 1982 you'd be amazed at the advancements for women. Also FYI women have a higher pain threshold than men sorry dudes it's just nature

Here are a lot of people criticising girls who are in the army when themselves they don't know what it takes to get on a battlefield, knowing you can die. Trail of blood or not, tampon or not, they have served us for so long and we should respect them. Lots of them have taken bullets in the name of their country, put yourselves in their places and you will see it takes much more than strength or gender, courage is needed.

The Soviets had no problem with women serving in rifle formations in various capacity. 22 million combat fatalities during WW-2, so they ought to know.

@llovswise most ground combat arms have to be able to do it, but most people in the military cant, that is why they are supply, cooks, intel, admin, so on and so on, if a grunt cant carry his buddy 200 ft to get him behind cover he should not be in a combat MOS, if he is, then his unit/command should keep him inside the wire and never let him out. make him a mail clerk or something. but my problem isnt females in the military, its females in COMBAT ORIENTED JOBS, such as grunts arty, tracks.

Anybody could use the help getting the load up, and that is called squad tactics. It's always faster that way. My problem is with combat exemption, MOS exemption, and then quotas that amount to sexist discrimination. Ladies want in that's fine, but they are going all the way into all the killzones, and if they don't have the brains or experience their boobs aren't going to save them.

@whatvever1 UTI's are really only caused by certain bacteria's if they get into the vagina, usually bacteria from her butthole if you want to get technical. As long as cleaning wipes are supplied i dont really see a problem to keep it clean down there. And its narrow minded people like you who cant see that there is strength in numbers. If America will deploy 20 men, its always better to have an extra 10 hands, even if they are those of a woman.

We dont have to amputate every little thing. and THe military is not just about brute strength. I do grant that that is a big part of it, but not all. Would it not be better to send out 30 men, plus 10 women to have their backs, than just the 30 men? ITs more tactical. If youre only going to send 30 men regardless, you might as well send extra hands to help if you can.

A group of Marines go in and clear out everything and do all the fucking work. then army slowly rolls in with its thousands of inferior rifle men who atleast know which way to point the weapon to shoot. now the enemy will look at a small group of motivated marines and think "thats bullshit we can take them" but if they look past us they will see a huge group of army muts and it makes them think twice. so always good to have numbers.

@llovswise most ground combat arms have to be able to do it, but most people in the military cant, that is why they are supply, cooks, intel, admin, so on and so on, if a grunt cant carry his buddy 200 ft to get him behind cover he should not be in a combat MOS, if he is, then his unit/command should keep him inside the wire and never let him out. make him a mail clerk or something. but my problem isnt females in the military, its females in COMBAT ORIENTED JOBS, such as grunts arty, tracks.

@uberhans13 It's called a fireman's carry. Once a wounded is up on the shoulders, it's off to the races.
Anybody could use the help getting the load up, and that is called squad tactics. It's always faster that way. My problem is with combat exemption, MOS exemption, and then quotas that amount to sexist discrimination. Ladies want in that's fine, but they are going all the way into all the killzones, and if they don't have the brains or experience their boobs aren't going to save them.

gangstap your stupid. first of all no one has been drafted. secondly, a womens body requires more care then a mans. you cant put a woman in a swap for 2 weeks and not have her get a urinary tact infection or a yeast infection or a bladder infection. and in the infantry you dont have the time to say time out i need to change my tampon. not to mention a womans dietary needs change when they go on the rag. why dont you cry about womens pt standards not being equal to mens thats a good start.

And women's bodies dont really require that much more than a mans. You should educate yourself because men get UTI's and bladder infections too.

@whatvever1 UTI's are really only caused by certain bacteria's if they get into the vagina, usually bacteria from her butthole if you want to get technical. As long as cleaning wipes are supplied i dont really see a problem to keep it clean down there. And its narrow minded people like you who cant see that there is strength in numbers. If America will deploy 20 men, its always better to have an extra 10 hands, even if they are those of a woman.

@Gangstap18 trench foot is still a concern, you dont have to be in a trench to get it. and i like how you never said anything about the double standard for women in the army. it comes down to this, i weigh 180lbs i carry about 160lbs of equipment, weapons, water and the rest of the bullshit we need. assuming you just strong enough to carry your own 160lbs of bullshit and keep up would you be able to drag or carry a wounded comarade that weighs 310lbs on top of dragging your own heavy ass?

@whatvever1 Im just pointing out how we dont fight in the same conditions with the same medical treatments. We dont have to amputate every little thing. and THe military is not just about brute strength. I do grant that that is a big part of it, but not all. Would it not be better to send out 30 men, plus 10 women to have their backs, than just the 30 men? ITs more tactical. If youre only going to send 30 men regardless, you might as well send extra hands to help if you can.

Gangstap you are absolutely correct about numbers. scenario... A group of Marines go in and clear out everything and do all the fucking work. then army slowly rolls in with its thousands of inferior rifle men who atleast know which way to point the weapon to shoot. now the enemy will look at a small group of motivated marines and think "thats bullshit we can take them" but if they look past us they will see a huge group of army muts and it makes them think twice. so always good to have numbers.

and as for your 10 women scenario if they can do the job as well as a man with out any issues let her have the job, the problem is that women in general cant. the military does not operate on a case by case basis.

I think it's ridiculous to not let women fight alongside men. why reject able bodies who are willing to die for their country? It's a shame that America resorts to drafting males who dont want to fight and rejecting women who do. With the proper training and if given the chance i know they wouldnt need any more protecting than fellow male soldiers. How can women ever become equals with men if we keep resorting to traditional ways of keeping women below them?
