I wish many others would use this technique. The spend too much time grinding the nail, priming, and then putting so much acrylic on the nails they start lifting in three days. BEAUTIFUL job.
@msvickyfranco OMG, Im from san Jose too, and I can't find a decent nail salon that doesn't do garishly thick nails!!! >_< THis technique, I've seen in London though. A bit higher end than other salons, but superb! (have you found a salon that does this btw? Share, share!)
The primer is supposed to cover the whole nail (except the false tip) and you dont want to get it on your skin. The reason we use the drill is to file the real nail down a bit and that makes the acrylic stay on and it keeps it from lifting.
They are really cute and natural looking =) Not bad though. winnie the pooh, instead of being so rude to her, why not tell her, not everyone has the time to go and get actual training, its not as important if your not working at a salon.
excuse me sir, what was the liquid you used with a brush right at the beginning when you prepared the nail for further treatment? is that a sort of cuticle remover?
and i have to see, your nails are the best by far ive seen on youtube. so beautiful and natural, its almost unreal. every woman should have her nails done this way. looks fab!

If this system is so great (not an insult, I'm actually dying to try it) then why hasn't it made it to the States yet? It's been out for a while now. I want to get it but I don't want to pay a fortune to get it from austraila. Is there another version, besides illume, like this that is more accessible for those of us in the States?
@nerdyolisa hahahah, and as an American I bet you think everything comes from America, it's costs many dollars to develop a product and method then to market it etc.
There are brilliant products all over the world .... think outside the box (America) ... no insult intended, but it's a BIG world out there.
@jannerww No, why would you need to prime plstic XD (no sarcasm intended,) dw i used to think the same thing as im to young to do any traing w/e its called.

@gelfling1986 NO, each acrylic has it's own application properties and flexibility and drying times, you can try though, but it may not work, as I always say "get professional training"
loved how you did your nails very professional, and ignore all this ignorant people who post stupid comments, they no nothing that's their problems empty vessels make the most noise don't they
do the nails you use have tht little dent thinq ? i always wantd to find tips with out the qrove part and another question , dont the nails strt to lift after a couple of days because the nail wasnt fild ? they look qreat btw
@MrRevalonTactics if it is not necessary, you don't know what you are doing, dead tissue on the nailplate makes nails lift and prevents adhesion of the acrylic, perhaps you should revise your training, or are you another "I know everything, self taught nail chick" ?
heyy guys... i'v ben watching these acrylic things for long time.. plzzzzz sum one help mee... i meannn i dnt get it.. wen u put the nail on right.. u just wet the brush and dip in the powder and apply over your nails..?? dnt u add other stuff to it or do u jus add the powder and topcoat??
1. Once you attach the plastic thingy, and build up the nail, as the nail grows out, can you just keep adding monomer and powder without ever having to add another synthetic tip?
u make it lOok sO natural itz great but i had 1 questiOn i use clear acrylic fOr the whOle nail wOuld that make it lOok less natural then the pinx that u used?
But why would you pay for professional training when you have just showed us how to do it. Unless the person in question wants to make a career out of it then it's far from necessary.

AlisonHopeRankin 9 months ago
@AlisonHopeRankin "WRONG", you dont have to use a drill to file the real nail down at all .......
All you have to do is remove surface contaminates and oils, a drill should NEVER be used on a natural nail.
Al it needs is a cleanse and a gentle buff

first and foremost, I am here to "show", i'm not here to teach people to do nails from their garage, ironing board or kitchen table.
