  • Static777 did something similar. I'm not saying you stole it or anything. I commend you for discovering it yourself. Great job

  • Wow dude I had a design just like it but it was a lot bigger probs 20x20 for a 6 destination selector but with this it'll be a whole lot smaller your so smart!

  • could you have a ONLY reset botten?

  • @theanswer1005 Sure! Just hook up a separate button to the reset line. If it's only going to be used for resetting it, that little strip of redstone dust is all you need.

  • @PearSquirrel oohh yeah thanks I didn't think of that OMG im so stupid...

  • Very cool array design. I knew about an all redstone array but I like this piston one since it's faster :D

  • Ive got a smaller one on my channel.

  • @randomvidsinc123 Mine's smaller. You might think this one is bigger because of the display. In reality, this one is only 4 blocks tall, 5 blocks wide, and fully tileable.

  • You sir are a genius!

  • Checkn out my channel! Also, can anyone help me get more views maybe a tip or two

  • Doesn't work. Either design is now flawed or explanation is flawed.

  • @JUlrich03 Try setting the delay on the repeater behind the button on 2. I said it in the video.

  • @PearSquirrel

Yeah works Flawlessly. I have experience no glitches as well. Great Design i look forward to more of your designs!

  • @PearSquirrel

Works well no glitches at all in the design. I gave you props in my video.

  • Guess what I'm building tommarrow! PearSquirrel, you're cool.

  • thumbs up if you should be asleed or doing homewrok

  • @legonaud i mean asleep dats just how tire i an

  • What!!!! You didn't ask us to subscribe? Now I'm definitly going to subscribe :)

  • What is a destinarion selector and wat is it used for?

  • Aka reddit(.)com/r/redstone/comments/obq1j/self_resetting_rs_nor_latch_array_56how_ever_many/ ?? Nice Tutorial btw :) Explains a whole lot more than a picture:)

  • Wow. great tut. I loved the how it works section. Usually people just show you something and expect you to take it for face value. It's nice to see someone effectively explain a compact redstone design. Good job!

  • can you make it more then 15 blocks long?

  • @MoneyAndPeople Yes! Just use a two-way repeater to connect two 15 button arrays. The two-way repeater can be a bit clunky, so it would be best to connect them through a corner.

  • I use a lever

  • wow thats actually very simple. Im amazed no one came up with this design yet.

  • I have a simpler destination selector that doesn't use any latches. Instead it uses a single input line from multiple buttons. watch?v=Tju5UGIBIGA

  • @TaviRider Good job!

If I said the word 'simplest' in my video, I probably could have worded it better. Both of our designs share the same purpose of switching tracks, but they are very different and shouldn't be compared so closely. Yours relies on the fact that the player needs to be in the cart when the button is pressed, limiting the number of outputs to the number of blocks a player can reach. Mine is the simplest design for those like it that accomplish the exact same thing.

  • @PearSquirrel I also think yours is applicable to more scenarios than just a destination selector. Similar arrays of latches are used in things like combination locks, puzzles, and storage systems. All the ones I've used were two wide per input, so yours is clearly smaller.

What you describe as a limitation (that a player must be in the cart to press the button) I would describe as an advantage. It removes a step for the passenger.

  • @TaviRider I already used one of these kinds of things in the potion room I made yesterday! That's why I named it PearSquirrel's Selector, not PearSquirrel's Destination Selector.

Removing a step for the passenger is an advantage, but if you want a larger number of destinations the wiring becomes confusing, and after a certain point it becomes impossible to add more buttons. Both designs come with their own pros and cons.

  • @PearSquirrel It would make me very very happy to see a station that needed more buttons than the single line input switchyard could provide. In practice I've never seen a station that had more than 4 destinations that actually went anywhere. As far as I know, the single line system can easily scale to 6 destinations, possibly 7.

  • @TaviRider I completely understand. However, some servers do require more than 15. I remember Bereghost78 had that problem, but it was fixed later. I'm afraid he deleted his videos though, so I can't link to another video.

  • @TaviRider pear's one is very different because u can choose the destination and only than jump on the cart. also, u can use a lot more destinations on this kind of design because ur not limited to where u can reach...

also, u can use it to different things other than minecart stations.

  • Ok, you and I are in a fight now. You just took two floors of wiring on my SMP servers map and made it 4x7....

  • @M0nkeyDKS That's my job!

  • @PearSquirrel Not working the pistons wont stay up...

  • @MrTaurus000 Make the repeater behind the buttons set on the second delay.

  • You could just have used delayed tilable RS-NOR-LATCH and link all the button to all the rest...

  • I'm assuming this specific design will only work up to 15 outputs without significant design changes?

  • really nice destination selection! all the other ones are just the same but this one is spacial, cool, simple, and better! :D also, i loved the vid and how you explained everything very nicely. if u ask me, as a guy whos subscribed to u from when u only started youtube, i think its ur best vid! :D

  • is it possible 2 change to work with over 15 buttons ??

  • @ThePWNbear is there a big design change or would it b easy enough ??

  • Don't forget: If the pistons don't stay toggled, you need to tinker with the delay that is right behind the button.

  • Very good tutorial! Sexy voice and good coverage of everything. <3 <3

  • No wait you used a different one.

  • a while ago I saw static's design which has the same size of your, It's without pistons but in his design there are 2 a little bit different RS-NOR Latches because he is using redstone dust in it.

So your design is simpler because you have just 1 stackable RS-NOR Latch.

  • @timikx Static's is almost identical to the one shown at 10:20. Each accomplish the exact same thing with two slices, but the wiring is a bit different. Something interesting:

If you look at his video again, you'll see him use the same 3x3 chunk I was talking about!

  • @PearSquirrel Yes you are right

  • I remember you doing the desighn at 10:20 ^^

  • Piss

  • good shit, pear

  • Not bad eh. Nice.

  • like you knew i needed this!

  • Have you tested this in SMP? Nice design, though.

  • if this works: REALLY good!!

  • Awsome, very useful :)

  • For some reason, it doesn't work for me. The piston doesn't stay toggled.

  • that is awesome

  • WICKED! btw how id it so fast?

  • can you use the 3 long wire to reset it, by powering it only

  • Nice! Really compact! Good job :)

  • genius

  • docm

  • Awesome!

  • Excellent!
