  • check this vid out

    watch?v=IWVhGC1Zvs4

  • this is vid is so biased in silat...

  • Saying which martial arts is better is like saying which are better swords, daggers, etc. I think for martial arts it's dependent on the users and not they're style

  • this is vid is so biased in silat...

    check this out b*tches!

    watch?v=HAM90hr0WHI

  • are you even have experience fight with silat before??

  • Comment removed

  • God end this world ? do your Master/Guru teach u guys to fight over stupid things ? = in Silat Pure Heart is important... i dint c any of u here who don't even realize the true basic of Silat can learn it, what more talking big about it... "juz delete/ignore all the hater comment, it so simple" human nowadays...

  • kali (philippines), silat (indonesia & Malaysia), krabi krabong (Thailand), la bokator (Cambodia), bando (Burma now Myanmar) = same same but different.

  • i like the way they fall down xD

  • Silat is from Malaysia and Indonesia in the past Karna Malaysia and Indonesia is one of the Government under the government of Sri Vijaya and Majapahit. Malaysia and Indonesia are separated by different colonial. Malaysia did not imitate the Indonesian culture Karna many people from Indonesia before (Jakarta, Java, etc Bawean.) Moved to Malaysia and of course they brought their culture together.

  • this is the principle of silat: "don't fight, but if you must, deceive him and then kill"

  • @SuperPasdaran All I have to do is stop traininng in silat. I'll be friendly towards an enemy, wait for him to fall asleep then slit his throat. That's the real silat, not these so-called drills and fight videos you silat practitioners post on here on YT. That's indeed very islamic. No need to train, be lazy, obese and plump. Then deceive the enemy, wait for him to turn his back or fall sleep, then attack him treacherously. LOL! That's real stupid fucked-up dip shit islamic art.

  • @SuperPasdaran You should stop classifying it martial art then. It should be called treachery art not martial art.

  • this is the principle of silat: "don't fight, but if you must, kill him"

  • all of you don't have any idea about the essence of silat at all. Even many of silat fighter and master don't know it. silat is not technics of punching, kicking, grapling, chock or tackling. silat even more then just show of speed and power. the essence of silat is mind deception, mind divertion and hipnotize the enemy with its movement. the target of silat isn't hurting enemies but killing them. so the real silat can't be show in competition, it is dificult for scoring silat.

  • @SuperPasdaran If that is the case, it makes silat training and practically silat useless. That principle is very deceitful, demonic and very Islamic.

  • @SuperPasdaran Oh really?

  • the sad thing about kali/escrima/arnis etc is that its original name is lost in time.

  • the silat guys jump too much. this is a grounded art and not some Brice Lee tribute token fighting style. Kali all the way!

  • I love filipino martial arts, and I have a lot of experience training in different flavors of Silat also. But... regarding this demo... they really need like Hulk Hogan and The Rock, as well as some better mimes, to increase the entertainment value and excitement. Some good technique though, although I will say that as regards Kali, the utilization of footwork and outside range attack/defense skills are more interesting than the pseudo-grappling/disarm type stuff.

  • Amazing Skills. Love Kali!

  • which one is silat?? i m totally confuse.....

  • @all about mahatir concern, he then, with UMNO created this `Bumiputra` bill to established the malays foot on the peninsula along with `imported malays` of Indonesia. in Tumasik isle (singapore origin name) the chinesses are outnumbered malays, thats why then singapore broke away from malaysia fed, (thing that feared out mahatir was happen)

  • @all the malay peninsula is originally empty space, people(malays) that now exist in malaysia was coming to the region from various places of indonesia. the first wave was in 11 Cent AD, via diaspora of Srivijaya, the second wave was in the 60`s, and the third wave is in the present day via indonesian labours that work out in the malaysian industries and farmings.

  • That was fun to watch!

  • OMG...each time when i open any silat vid, there's always a bunch of stupid pricks from stupid indons & malays bitching bout "silat originated from this or that land"...well, fuck u guys!!! do u ever see any north or south koreans bitching bout tae kwan do originated from either north or south? can u guys just shut the hell up & just enjoy the vid? what makes u think we give a fuck if silat originated from any place? if the martial art is gud, then it is gud, thats all & thats it..

  • @keown83 yah I agree. theyre idiots who are fighting about it.. Malaysians&Indonesians are same actually. just diff country and nation, but we still same origin, same flesh and blood.. but fyi, this conflict had happened between Malaysia&Indonesia since 1990's... they keep mocking about who steal their original culture, practises, music.... but they dont look.. japanese, korean & chinese are almost same culture, but they nvr fought about who steals and which originated from.. so idiot....

  • @Pangeranese

It has nothing to do with Sundaland. We here talking about PENCAK SILAT, the martial art, the culture.

Silat is "Indonesian Martial Art" not only because it's originate in Indonesia, but also because Indonesia already proclaimed PS officially as IMA through the foundation of IPSI (Indonesia Silat Association), the FIRST Silat organization in the world. IPSI was formed in 1948, that's 15 years before Malaysia exist, and 32 years before Malaysian have their own, PESAKA, in 1980.

  • Silat comes from Indonesia. There 're a lot of ethnic in Indonesia and every ethnic has its own style, such as, Javanese silat(from central & East Java). Minangese(West Sumatera),Sundanese(West Java) Bugese(South Sulawesi),etc. You can't count all of these styles in Indonesia, cause it;s too many. Malay is one of the style, but it doesn't mean that silat comes from malay. In every region itself, there re so many styles, for instance, Sundanese silat have Cimande, Cikalong, Sibunder(Betawi), etc.

  • @androcrb yeay... silat comes from Indonesia.. i had learn Indonesian silat in Malaysia.. Thank you Indonesian for spreading great knowledge.

  • @orangensem You 're welcome bro. It's our pleasure.

  • @androcrb if u care 2 watch the style of silat that i had been practicing, u can just type Silat Hidayah Melayu on the youtube... May the unity of both country can be preserve n increase through the Malay Art of Self Defense Insya'allah..

  • @orangensem Sure. I 've already watched them. The movement is nice, artistic, and fast enough. Your wish is my wish as well. I hope relationship between two countries will be better.

  • @androcrb no,silat is not from indonesia..its all of us,the nusantara

  • @faiz196 i dont care where it came from...are we silat family or fighting with each other??

    it is still Silat...

you ruin my cousin was a direct decedent from datuk meor

so stop fighting with each other

    we stand as silat

  • Silat is a malay martial arts,Malay Archipelago.Ethnic malays have many group like Bugese,Javenese,Minang&etc. All around south east asian their origins it is ethnic Malay.

  • I wish people would take a break from commenting on Youtube and actually go to a Martial Arts class. So much would be cleared up...

  • Great video, and on behalf of humanity I'd like to apologize for the avalanche of haterz all popular martial arts videos seem to attract.

I've a question: How does Silat compare to Kali? Prettysure there's been a lot of cross training but on the whole are there any major differences or what?

  • @qwertyuiop298 I my self always say that `kali` is actually silat, the word kali was not commonly known til the 80`s even in the philipines, surely they got arnis/eskrima but the word `kali` itself was non exist. dan inosanto considered as a man who brought the word. but of course the silat of philipines sytem (read:kali) got some differences from silat of indonesia, mainly the kali system is stand ground with high-stance, while silat bend the knee much more low.

  • kali is better

  • Really Nice!!!!

  • @all learning history prevent you from doing the same shit, twice.

  • @90boyz Silat was invented in Sumatra, therefore in originated from Indonesia. Will you stop associating silat with Malaysia? Any martial art being associated with Malaysia becomes synonymous with the words pussy and sissy and lessens the appeal of silat. Martial arts are supposed to originate from nations with evidence of warrior traditions such as world boxing or MMA champions like Indonesia, Thailand and the P.I.

  • @all type and watch here in youtube :`` TSO episode 7 `silat`.avi``<<<philipines silat

  • kali is from philippines

  • fuck silat

  • @RockBoyz256 YEAH!!! That comment coming from a Malaysian. Why learn an art coming from a country that has not proved anything in combat sports and wars.

  • susun blh kt dia

  • @copypacercopypacer R u seriously that stupid? Kali, Arnis, and escrima can be a sport, but for the most part it is a very effective self defense system. Filipinos have used it for many years to fight eachother and invaders. And besides its taught to militaries around the world. So NO FMA is not a sport.

  • @toyhutnm BUT, have you looked at the past before spanish occupation. visayan and luzon lost to moro battles, thats why the moros had many slaves which people from visayan and luzon. look at the weapons they used by the visayans and luzon. there just a bunch of knives, sticks and realll really small machetes. moros had long weapons such as the budak (spear) panabas, kampilan, pira and hundreds of other swords, while tribes in the north used long kniives LOL!

  • also eskrima is just a sport, which is why it doesn't work in fighting. its like using takewondo in a street fight. kali and arnis is also a sport. all you do is twirl sticks LOL and box which is stupid because i could just learn wing chun. fma is pontless unless you use silat/

  • no wonder visayan and luzon got there ass kicked in the american filipino war LOLOLOL

  • i have a question. can anybody tell me where did pencak silat malaysia originates??. i'm form malaysia and many people here says that silat comes form malaysia. and from the origins i look on the history. they say (the historians) that pencak silat origins were not form malaysia. i not trying to be racist or anything. i just want to get my fact straight.

  • @subaerofreeman

Historians are right about that. It's from (the lands what is now called as) Indonesia. Indonesians brought silat to Semenanjung ages ago. Pencak Silat is part of Indonesian culture that spread through diaspora of it's people.

  • @omzyr

thx for the reply, another question. does the Indonesian still retain the original pencak silat or have they took it and turn into more modern and more pratical use (as in tournament and sea-games alike)?

  • @subaerofreeman

Yes they still do. Pencak Silat is from-the-very-beginning a very practical MA. It's first and foremost a combat art and the only rule in Silat; kill the opponent before they kill You.

However, what You see now in tournaments is "Silat Sport". PERSILAT (International Pencak Silat Federation) has taking everything deadly (attacks & locks) from Pencak Silat to create a new form called Silat Sport, setting the rules for it to be able to compete in Olympic games.

  • @subaerofreeman the MA is envolved also in silat, but youcan find the trace of original silat, write this in youtube: `pecak silat west java` youll see the trace of origin of silat which is animals mimicking, back to the animism era of indonesia long before the hindu era. I dont really sure about it, but since srivijaya was HUGE kingdom (indonesian teritory considerably tiny to compare with them and we all know that indonesia is the biggest country in SEA)...

  • @MrSolitude14

    Thanks for sharing the info

  • @subaerofreeman actually almost 80% to 90% of malayans malaysia are originally came from places that now known as indonesia, your current PM is bugis-malayan of indonesia, and the founder kingdom of malaka was srivijayan diaspora, along with rajah baginda ali the founder of Manila sultanate of the philippines

  • @MrSolitude14

Thx for the reply, another question. how far has silat spread during the time before malaka falls?. ( wanted to know how far silat manage to spread).

  • @subaerofreeman

The spread of Silat didn't start in Malaka nor it was sprung there, it was the Indonesians (Minang, Malay, Java, Bugis) that brought it to semenanjung. People already practicing Silat in Sumatera & Java long before the founding of Malaka in 1400s.

When the Mongol invade Java in 1293, the Javanese people overcame their inferiority in weapons with tactics and the use of Silat. The Majapahit Kings are known to have an elite bodyguard of silat masters called Bhayangkara.

  • @omzyr Mongols always had difficulty in invading islands. Its because the Mongols were never a naval power.

  • @abusabaya1925

War in Java was not fought on ocean. The Mongols successfully landed on Java island and then together with Prince Raden Wijaya of Singhasari eradicate the power of Jayakatwang, who was the ruler of Java.

Later on, R. Wijaya turned against the Mongols and drove them out of the island, back to China.

With Singhasari eliminated and The Mongols now gone, R. Wijaya seize the opportunity to unite Java and the rest of Singhasari's former realm to create Majapahit.

  • @omzyr corrrect, the case was not the same as when the mongols were trying to invade japan, they were already wiped out by the hurricane at the sea.

  • @subaerofreeman ...we can count every malayan settlements in SEA as the `silat region`, if we can countthe regions are: southern provinces of thailand, malaysia, singapore, brunei, the philippines, and small southern part of vietnam, after the fall of srivijaya, the nobels of the empire mainly diaspored through out the SEA maritime world and established their own kingdoms(mainly sultanate because the srivijayan among the fist SEA people that converts to islam)

  • WOW,,sadiss,,PENCAK SILAT<<i just wanna say,thats deadly jurus....yihaaa

  • Another Visayan dreaded militia warriors of Mindanao are the Davao Death Squad. They have similarities with the Ilagas. They are nationalists who kill communists, moro rebels, bandits and criminals. They are in control of Davao which used to be moro country.

  • silat so deadly than kungfu or thay boxing...

  • @Haryadifile apparently, you have seen some very poor practicioners of kung fu. fortunetly, for myself, i've been blessed with having some great practicioners of the hakka arts. that is where you could look to.

  • @silversification Southeast Asian martial arts are the real deal and bad ass. Practical and effective with no stupid YAAAHHHH! YAAAAAH! bullshit! You'll notice the trend in foreign countries, many martial art schools are now copying arnis and incorporating similar sticks fighting. Some honorably accept that they are copying and incorporating arnis/escrima. While some dumb ass McDojos claim their arts also has the same stick fights and drills since the beginning.Tell that to the marines.Lol

  • @zofronio well, i even see kenpo with kerambit LoL

  • @MrSolitude14 kenpo is the greatest copycat of arnis. Specially the kenpo from Hawaii and the American Kenpo. They're doing single and double stick drills very much like arnis. The young kenpo practitioners call it Kenpo stick fighting. But one of their founders a certain Master Parker actually call it escrima/arnis drills.

  • @all write and read these things on youtube: `eskrimadors: a brief history` and ` `golden tara`, enjoy a new prespective of FMA and the philippine culture.

  • The best thing for a silat fanatic is to proclaim his art as Indonesian Silat or Mindanao Silat, never Malaysian Silat. Indonesians have their share of world boxing champions. You will only be laughed at if you say you're practicing a martial art from Malaysia. They will just say LOL! who the fuck has Malaysia produced in combat sports?

  • fuuuucckkkk...u are ...!!!!!! what are u talking about....indonesian have many difrent silat...ext. tapak suci, cimande, and ect...

  • @tsopita2

Keep on dreaming. Keep on feeling mighty. Poor you.

  • KALI KILLS SILAT!!!! That's a fact! Kali's country of origin has produced real life ancient and modern warriors. In ancient battles like Lapu lapu, warriors of the Korean wars and World War II, boxing Hall of Famers and MMA octagon fighters. While Silat's country of origin Malaysia has produced NOTHING! They will say Malaysia has their own warriors but they are nothing but Malay mythology characters like Monsopiad and urban legend Huang Tuah. Silat is nothing but bastardized Kung Fu!

  • @tsopita2 What people dont know is that Kali IS Silat.. Its just the filipino word for Silat.. The techniques are roughly the same and to Silat did NOT originate in Malaysia .. Its A martial art from The Malay Archipelago. And your statement about Phillippines producing boxers and octagon fighters and what not is completely out of topic. You were talking about kali , what does that has to do with boxers and mma fighters?

  • @sdurgefafd Why learn Silat? Kali kills silat! P.I. has produced real warriors and fighters. Lapu-lapu, Diego Silang, Bonifacio, Korean wan and World War II heroes, numerous escrimadors-arnisadors, head hunters of Philippine jungles,Pancho Villa, Elorde, Ceferino Garcia, Luisito Espinosa, Manny Pacquiao, Penalosa brothers, Eduard Folayang, Nonito Donaire and many more.! What has Malaysia produced? All they can name is Monsopiad of Malay mythology. A head hunting cannibal! HAHAHAHAHA!

  • @tsopita2 kali kills silat? why are you talking about boxers?

  • @sdurgefafd Its because nowadays the only way for any martial arts practitioner to test his skill and technique is by competing in professional fighting like MMA, K-1, kick boxing, karate or boxing. You can't test your art by posting dancing silat warriors on You Tube. LMAO!

  • @tsopita2 well , Silat is self defence . theres no need to test our techniques in professional fights just to prove our selves worthy

  • @sdurgefafd HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @tsopita2 thats not true, mindinao silat which originated from the moros (filipnio muslim) of the southern philippines killed eskrimadors and kali practioners during spanish occupation. most battles from moros vs filipnio christian (practioners of kali) , the moro won

  • @copypacercopypacer The battle were between Moros and Spanish-Filipinos who were not escrimadors, They used Spanish style sword fighting not escrima. In any case, the real hardcore silat practitioners were the moros of the Philippine islands not the Malaysian moros. The Malaysian moros were always easy to invade. The Philippines always beat the Malaysians whether it is silat or kali. The warriors of the P.I. whether Christian or Moro are bad ass. That's the truth!

  • @tsopita2 moros mostly won, just saying.

  • @copypacercopypacer You're very wrong boy. The Mindanao moros are more humble than you. You better research these words: MORO HEROES FROM MINDANAO-ISLAM IN THE PHILIPPINES. Them moros are humble to admit that they have their own numerous defeats and surrender to the occupying forces. Their island are even colonized by Visayans and that's one reason for their rebellion. Stop believing those Malaysian moros, those coward Malaysian moros have been twisting histories of silat and their country.

  • @tsopita2 i'm talking about the moro as the philipppine moros, kali is not from the south. mindinao silat which is FILIPINO MARTIAL ART NOT MALAY OR INDONESIA BUT FILPINO, moros are much better then kali. visiyans were defeated and so were centeral luzon. so filipino muslim is basicly the only good warrior in the philippines besides the head hunters in north luzon. visiyans don't count since they were conquered and killed easily.

  • @copypacercopypacer IDIOT! Almost all Filipino world boxing champions are Visayans and yet you won't count them as good warriors. Visayans were colonized by the Spaniards because a great majority of them were animists and they were looking for religion. The few muslims among them were not fanatic since the bastion of Islam in the P.I. is Jolo Sulu. If you think Visayans never defeated the moros why did they colonized most of Mindanao and even Christianized many Lumads? You're full of stupidity.

  • @tsopita2 your comparing a state with alot of fighting sport such as boxing (visiyan) to a state (mindinao) that has a high murder and killing history, thats not good. i can care less for a boxer in a SPORT.notice how along time ago visiyan COULDN'T take over mindinao and showed no proof that they are better or any way equal of killing potential. oh and that was recently with WESTERN TECHNOLOGY. visiyans were dependent unlike the superior moros.

  • @copypacercopypacer Visayans have taken over Mindanao. Since 1930's, Visayans and some Ilocanos began occupying Mindanao. Now Ilonggos and Cebuanos are the majority in Mindanao. Many moros were displaced by the Visayans that many of them immigrated to Malaysia and became Malaysian citizens. Visayans have won plenty of fights against moros. You must probably haven't heard of the dreaded Ilaga militias. If them Ilagas declared you a communist or moro rebel, expect a violent death within days.

  • @tsopita2 lol that's not true dude

  • @tsopita2 wow, 1930s, thats around the time with the north HAD technology that HELPS them fight since visayans and luzon people can't fight for shit. they only used guns. moros won more battles then visayans and luzon people and history, and there is no proof that visayan ever proofed themselves to be any better or just as good as the moros before spanish occupation. the anamists NEEDED the help from spaniards. which is why the morois better thenthe undeveloped people in the north

  • @copypacercopypacer stfu! you better tell that to Ilaga militias face to face. Expect to be butchered and sold as pork chop to meat markets.

  • @tsopita2 i'm more afraid of the moro tasugs than the luzon and visayan people WHO LOST MORE BATTLES THEN THE MOROS, and also considering the fact that thye had A SHIT HISTORY in fighting before the spaniards came. visayans and luzon are weak. moros from mindinao are the best warriors in the philippines because they are the only warriors before using guns...and igorot and head hunting tribe in the mountains but they were uncivilized

  • @copypacercopypacer and now where civilized for some major parts though there still some hidden or secluded places here at north that are quite uncivilized.

  • @copypacercopypacer well i can say Luzon and Mindanao almost shared the number tribal wars.

  • @copypacercopypacer Everybody knows that moros are not honorable fighters. They use civilians as cover, attack during times of truce and win through dirty and dishonorable tactics. They're lucky, P.I. military officials are corrupt and want continuous war in Mindanao so they get kickbacks from military equipment. There was a time when the military became serious in year 2000 and stage an all out war. Moro leader Salamat run like a girl to Malaysia leaving his badly defeated moro soldiers. HAHAHA

  • @copypacercopypacer Silat is just a product of moro dirty and dishonorable battle tactics. Silat focuses on heating the groin. gouging the eyes and all sort of dirty tactics. The fact is you will never see a moro participating in combat sports where there are rules and sportsmanship is of paramount concern. Moros can't participate in honorable fights. It seems it has something to do with their dirty religion. Quoting a retired Filipino Army general "Never turn your back against a muslim"

  • @tsopita2 if thats the case then no wonder the moros beat the crap out of the northern people before the spaniards EDUCATED, HELPED AND TAUGHT THEM HOW TO FIGHT. plus not wonder kali , eskrima and arnis doesn't work. its not dirty. mindinao silat works because its a killing martial art that is dirty and helps people survive fights. since kali, eskrima and arnis "aren't dirty" they are not as good as mindinao silat, since kali eskrima arnis has too many restrictions then silat.

  • Comment removed

  • @copypacercopypacer If that's the case, I don;t need to practice and train in any form of martial arts if all of us should fight in dirty manners. If dirty fighting is the norm, I won't even do some warm-up exercise, I'll just smile at a prospective victim then wait for him to turn his back and hack him to death. No wonder those clumsy, malnourished , crooked back and frail moro soldiers score win victories against P.I. soldiers, they can only do it using dirty tactics.

  • @copypacercopypacer I;m glad its coming straight from your mouth that Silat is indeed dirty. Only dirty dishonorable people practice dirty fighting. Kali can also be dirty however it is being practiced by people who fight honorably, who respect truce and don't use civilians as cover. These traits were shown by many P.I. boxers who fight clean and refuse to return dirty tactics of opponents. Examples can be seen during the fights of Elorde and Sadler and recently Pacquiao vs Agapito Sanchez.

  • @tsopita2 sigh, who cares if its dirty. thats probably why krav maga and silat is better then eskrima, kali and arnis. its not dirty to the point where it can work for alot of people. no wonder you lost wars and battles against the moros and why there supeior. i'm pretty sure you don't know crap in fighting in streets or in wars. american and russian soilders use these "dirty fighting or dirty tactics to win battles. who cares if someone fights honorably

  • @copypacercopypacer Lol! when did moros become superior? Their land has been claimed by Visayans. Ilocanos and Lumads. They were so stupid, that in the past they sold their lands for a few hundreds of pesos to Visayans and other P.I. people, now they are crying about invasion. They were never superior, actually they merely relied on treachery and deceit.

  • @tsopita2 if it wasn't for the moros, the philippines would of been conquered. they were the only ones that were civilized in the philippines unlike the visayans and luzons who were half naked, didn't have armour, weapons were small ect. eskrima, arnis and kali is probably the weakest martial art. karate, krav maga and muay thai is better because at least krav maga teaches how to fight dirty.

  • @copypacercopypacer Talking about of moros, they're plenty of them nowadays in Metro Manila and all over Luzon. Smelly and hitch hiking in jeepneys. Begging for alms while playing homemade drums made from milk cans and pvc pipes. Drumming and singing unintelligible words like crazy, while being cursed by the jeepney drivers. There goes your deadly moro warriors. ROFL!

  • @zofronio well those moros were the only developed people in the philippines before spanish helped you retarded visayans and luzons. weapons like the kampilan or kris or panabas are indeginous to the moros and any developed weapons that you find is most likely from a muslim cheif. all you used are a bunch of small knives and sticks LOLZ

  • @copypacercopypacer

Are you enjoying your history lessons?

  • @zulfikarl yeah

  • @copypacercopypacer is there's something you wanted to prove?

  • @copypacercopypacer We were non civilized people? Now that's just dumb.

Then answer this... How come there were already a hierarchy in the indigenous Filipino societys? there were already slaves called Alipin (the lowest), there were already warrior class (read the book by American historian William Henry Scott). There already a form of writing Baybayin, sailing vessels were being made according to earliest Spanish records.

I am amazed at your ignorance and still you speak.

  • @tsopita2 "i don't need to practice and train in any form of martial arts if all of us should fight dirty manners" that is the most stupidest thing i have ever heard in my life. you obviously don't know anyting when it comes to FIGHTING. you have alot to learn little kid.

  • @copypacercopypacer STUPID! I was referring to your admission that silat is based mainly on dirty fighting, cowardice, treachery and deceit. It is directed to your dirty fighting silat. BTW I just realized that Arnis and Escrima should really be spread and taught to all honorable people over the world. Good thing it is receiving worldwide acceptance. Very timely as Europe's citizens might use them someday in driving away those muslim scums that have been polluting their homelands.

  • @tsopita2 also, who cares if its dirty. wining a battle whether its dirt or honorable, who gives a shtit. no wonder you got your ass kicked and needed the americans help during ww2 agaisnt the japanese. fighting your so called "honorable" is so stupid that even generals in war for ex: patton, would find that really stupid. in fact i remember a speech saying. "those who fight fair in a war is an fucking stupid, and for surely will most likely die"- patton. arnis won't get you anywhere in survival

  • @copypacercopypacer Lol! Go make some research. During WWII in South East Asia , only the Philippines with Escrima/Arnis was the only nation who made efforts to fight and defend their nation together with America. After the fall of Corregidor, P.I. was the only SEAsian nation with considerable guerilla movement. How about those Silat SEAsian nations? They were so easily subdued by the Japs. Learn more history or STFU!!!!

  • @tsopita2 i know more geography and history than you do, i would like to major in it but in this economy, its useless and wouldn't get you anywhere. and i'm refering to mindinao silat not indonesian or malaysian silat. BUT the philippines (north side) NEEDED the american support because the japanese wouldn't leave and won all the batles they had against the philippines before the americans trained you guys and HELPED you. since you can't fight for shit.

  • @copypacercopypacer

DUDE, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHICH SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN IS NOT WORKING. SILAT IS NOT FILIPINO MARTIAL ART. IT CAME FROM INDONESIA. YOU CAN SEARCH IT IN THE NET. YOURS IS INTELLECTUAL LETHARGY OF THE HIGHEST KIND.

WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE THE NERVE TO ENTER INTO A DEBATE AND INSIST, TO THE TOP OF YOUR LUNG, ON A MISAPPREHENSION OF BASIC HISTORICAL FACTS. I REPEAT, SILAT IS NOT FILIPINO MARTIAL ART. TWAT!

  • @zulfikarl just to let you know, silat is a south east asian martial art. it is not just indeginous to indonesia and other south east asian countries. majority of the filipino martial arts came from indonesia and other countries. how? because many people from other regions travled to what is now the philippines. for ex: indonesians traveled to luzon and visayan. chinese and taiwanese traveled to luzon and some polynesians traveled to other parts of the island ect.

  • @copypacercopypacer dude pencak silat was originally 100 percent created in Malaysia by Datok Meor Rahman.Indonesia has their own silat styles that created in their country but pencak silat ia origin from Malaysia

  • @Friendlydude101 Do you understand the meaning of the word 'pencak' and 'silat'? 'Pencak' was the term used to describe martial art in Java island, while 'Silat' was used in Sumatra island. That's should explain where it's originated. Check wikipedia.

  • @Friendlydude101

LOL.. You better check the history of Datok Meor. He's a Bugis descent and his silat (Silat Gayong) traced back to a Bugis warrior. Do you know where the Buginese coming from? - It's Indonesia.

Silat and Pencak Silat is like "Mike is actually Michael". It's one and the same thing, and it's originated in Indonesia.

  • @sempoyon82 well.. just for reminder.. please also check the history and fact 'alam melayu' and 'nusantara'.

IF Buginese came from TIMOR ( formally Indonesia province), can we just take it as originated from TIMOR? need ur answer.. :D

  • @arzlarn

U mean that Indo and M'sia was one, right?.. I'm not denying that.

This is about the origin of Silat. It didn't sprung all at once in diff. places. It followed the migration of Indo people (Sumatera, Java, Sulawesi.. I use Indo just 4 simplification) to semenanjung (M'sia). Majority of M'sia malay today essentially descent from Indo people.

Just like China and Taiwan today separated by politics.. You see Kungfu in Taiwan & S'pore too but doesn't mean it originated from those places.

  • @arzlarn Ur using alien term, timor term is associated with timor leste in the modern world, and there is no `IF` word on buginese origin IT IS came from indonesian province, South Sulawesi is the origin home of buginese, the reason they scattered around the SEA is simply because they are sailormen.

  • @sempoyon82 did datuk meor decendent have indonesian ID?

  • @Friendlydude101 dude, I really concern about history education in Malaysia. cause if malaysia having a good education about the history, there will no disrespect to Indonesia among the young generations of malaysia like now. there are growing believes in the majority of malaysian that they are some kind of Aryan people with pure-genuine culture, while the truth is that malaysia inherited the culture and not invented. this is just like USA,australia and new Zealand deny their anglo-saxon origin

  • @MrSolitude14

Some Malaysian insist that Silat and Malay culture were from Malay Archipelago so it's including Malaysia, not Indonesia only. They need their head checked. Archipelago is chain of islands. Malay archipelago IS Indonesia. Malaysia never fits archipelago criteria since it's in mainland Asia. Having a portion of Borneo doesn't make it qualified as one either.

They bring out the term Malay Archipelago in every occasion, yet they failed to realize what archipelago means. LOL.

  • @sempoyon82 Yes, finally someone who understands. Silat did originate in The Malay Archipelago which is Indonesia today. However , There are alot of Malaysian Malays with Indonesian ancestry ie. javanese , Minang , Bawean etc. So its not wrong for them to practice Silat or other "Indonesian" cultures. People cant really say Malaysians stole Indonesian culture because If you migrated , you would surely bring your culture with you

  • @sdurgefafd Yes, finally someone who understands. Silat did originate in The Malay Archipelago which is Indonesia and 'Malaysia' today. you forgot to mention Malaysia...it did not named Malay archipelago just for nothing...:)in Indonesia...there are more javanese than malay nowadays...only in sumatara island where malays in indonesia exist....but in malaysia...mostly comprises Malays....

  • @sempoyon82 check wikipedia....you are so wrong.....dont be bias....the term Malay archipelago doesnt come out of nothing.....it is not named by malaysian.....check history how the name come about....in fact indonesia is comprise more on Javanese than malays...so malaysia included....

  • @aimantra

My friend you better check your own history... At the time of Malaka's peak, being muslim automatically a Malay by law. Semenanjung was under Malaka's sphere of influence, and the people who embrace Islam counted as Malays regardless of their origin (the same law now preserved by UMNO in modern Malaysia). Hence, you got many Malays in Malaysia that actually NOT of Malay origin. If Indonesia abide the same law, you got 200 million "Malays".

  • ... Up until Malaysia's independence in 1963, Malays was not the majority. The Malaysia govt. then reenacted old law of Malaka and merged groups of "light-brown-skinned Asian" (no racism remark intended) into one, MALAY, based on their religion of Islam. All being "Malaynized". From the late 60s until today, millions of Indonesians migrated to Malaysia (mostly Javanese). Many of them are given citizenship by the Govt., and since they're muslim, they are officially Malay of Malaysia.

  • @sempoyon82 nice info, my lector ever told me that in the 60`s, mahatir muhammad send a request to soeharto (indonesia`s 2nd president) to `add some malays` to the peninsula, because that day malays is so few he concern that malays will out numbered by tamils and chinesses. So then soeharto send some indonesians to add the `malays`, from various places of indonesia.

  • @MrSolitude14 yea, Most Malays in Malaysia nowadays are really poorly educated in history

  • @sdurgefafd

You fail to see the connection. A nation with a great tradition of fighting system, is likely to produce great boxers, MMA fighters etc. For instance, the reason why we see a lot of fighting systems (Judo, Karate, Aikido etc.) originating in Japan is due to its ancient Samurai tradition dating back when Japan was mired in feudal wars.

In much the same way that a nation with a strong "Fiesta" tradition is likely to produce great singers and dancers (e.g. Latin America)

  • @KAMIKORUSU Malays have a martial arts and warrior tradition, but they are the Malays in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
