I don't understand why people keep dwelling on the negative! She is obviously a talented dancer, so can't we just appreciate that instead of being so hypercritical?
@scrumptiouskblc I guess it depends on what you find positive. I see a very talented young girl doing a dance that was choreographed for a much older woman. Why do adults judging competitions need to see this type of choreography and dress in such young girls when their talent can obviously stand on it's own? Why not sometime more age appropriate show casing her talent rather showcasing her body and elusion to sexuality? I find children being exploited in this way very "negative"

And what she doesn't have will improve with age and maturity. So I suggest you mature as well and stop posting such negative comments. @ilikecandyxox Okay lets discuss this realistically. First off I'm going to say I'm not the biggest fan of Heather and I HAVE been in the "real dance world" as you say. And even I wouldn't be so horrible as you have been. Yes she needs to straighten her knees and make sure to pointe her feet. But for 14 and a competition girl I'd say she's on the right track. She has a FABULOUS ballet instructor and I've danced with her so I have personally seen her work ethic.And yes, the choreo could be better

"Perfect"? who are you kidding that judge wasn't very knowledgeable on technique and dance if he/she thought this was perfect. I've read all the comments regarding both of Heather's solos. I was in the audience when she performed them - the emotion she showed on her face does not come across on the video - she was phenomenal. I will also say Heather Kelly is not the type of person who would EVER write a derogatory comment about anyone. EVER! She is an exceptional young lady who is sweet, kind and has a compassion for dance that comes from within. She's a joy to watch and to know.

Open your eyes beautiful girl-don't let the trophies and hype LIMIT your progress. Keep pushing to become a real dancer! You are capable of much more.
I hated the choreography, I think Heather could have done something more challenging. Of course it was good, because she's a strong dancer regardless, but it could have been much better.

@ilikecandyxox Yes, you are right--so many kids/parents fooled by the competition dance world hype and miss out on the training and dance development that really prepares them to do real world choreography. I'm afraid it is hard for the kids to see the forest thru the trees as they like their trophies & are comfortable doing the same ole studio choreography. So many talented kids out there getting REAL training, REAL choreography and developing into REAL dancers.

she's 14?!!! no way! wow she would easily pass of as 16 or 17... anywaaaays she's a fantastic dancer and all her tricks were amazingly (technically and aesthetically) executed. some choreo was a little awkward but im sure it would go after a bit more training
i agree that this dance is extremely awkward to watch. all she can do is tricks and when she tries to actually dance, she cant, it looks weird. the dance wasnt interesting at all and her face never changed the whole time. it was boring and a bad attempt at contemporary.
@ilikecandyxox this is a tad harsh. Obviously, the girl has talent and she definately can perform other types of competition dances well. She is a solid "competition" dancer but her transitions are rough like many kids who have been winning with their tricks alone. Agreed the choreography is really really bad--appears it was done by someone without real knowledge of contemporary dance. There is much much more to being a good contemporary dancer you can't fake it!
i also did not personally enjoy this dance. Heather is a great technical dancer. All her tricks were outstanding! But when it came to the movement in between the tricks, the real choreography, it was awkward. especially 0:41-0:43. I did enjoy the intensity build in this though! Keep working hard girl!
