Sepak Takraw came both from Thailand and Malaysia and was played by both countries in ancient times. The name is a mixture of Malay and Thai. Sepak means "kick" in Malay and "takraw" means woven ball in Thai. The game changed over the years and the net version that is played now was created by Thais, but Malays have always been involved. Malaysia and Thailand dominate the sport.

i hope you're kidding. there are a lot of different versions of the game, no one knows who truly originated it. Sepak Takraw is the main name, usually just called Takraw. Philippines its Sipa. You really shouldn't be all cocky about your country, especially when it isn't true. oh, and with all due respect, Thailand is probably the best in the world at ST.
