All this wine connoisseurship is a con. People don’t buy wine because of its taste – they buy it because it contains alcohol and gets you drunk. If alcohol didn’t exist and someone made a soft drink that tasted like wine - any wine – they would go broke because it wouldn’t sell.

Wine enthusiasts are just drunks - the pretence of aestheticism and being an intellectual is just a rationalisation to excuse getting wrecked.
