Snape's the bravest man he ever knew - and it's so beautiful how the plot all comes together. All the times we doubted Snape ... Now we know who he would die for.
I couldn't help but think that Snape was a bit kinder to Harry in the movies than in the books. The tear he shed in place of just the misty memories was a nice touch, and his last words were touching.
"You... said... you would -keep.- -Her-. Safe-."... My heart broke. And I'm a guy. This guys is a hero, and what I strive to be like once I fall in love.
0:30 to the end is so beautiful to hear and listen to. It is a nice subtle mix of Lily's Theme the main theme for Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Very nice work the composer Desplat did for this film, what an achievement.
Snape Dying Was The Saddest Part, Mostly For Harry, Knowing That his Dad Stole His Only Love. I Hated Seeing The Prince's Tale, Knowing He's Already Dead, But More To His Life.. </3
You know what I believe: Alan Rickman is a fake name. SO is Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Gritson(??) I believe they just made it so that Hogwarts wasn't really exposed. They really are all wizards, who most of them died, but still :3 I like believing Alan Rickman and all the other names are fake. Just to cover up the Wizarding World because the story of Harry Potter was so good that she had to tell Muggles, which sadly, are us.
@Dynryn805 lets be real here these actors have been in many films before these. I love these films as much as anybody but saying they're real is sort of childish.
@DaPlaya274 There is a difference between growing up and being cynical. She obviously knows that it isn't real. But my point was why can't it feel real? If it brings someone joy to think that way then who are you to call them childish?
I've watched the movie 3 times in theater, opening night, then 2 other times in 3d. I just watched it at my house and I was bawling once again at this part alone. Snape and Lilly were the best romance there ever was and ever will be. <3
@iWpanz J.K. Rowling did A LOT of things better than Stephenie Meyer. actually, scratch that. EVERYTHING J.K. ever did and will do is better than Stephenie Meyer :)
Love how Alan Rickman played Snape. I've loved Snape's character since he was first introduced, no matter how he acted, I knew there was something good in him.
There are a full two generations of children now who will hear the words Harry Potter and think of their childhood. Forever. What an impact to have had on the world.
@KNIGHTOFSCOTS BEFORE Nagini attacked him. Before voldemort disabled him. Raise you wand and defend yourself snape! Fuckin Defense against the Dark Arts teacher just lays down and dies? MY ASS!
..Can any one of you Potterheads imagine someone from the Harry Potter cast, or the director, or even J.K Rowling herself, and the composers of the music.. die? :(
@drealgrin Snape got bit in the neck, and the snake's bite contains a poison that keeps the wound open (Remember when Arthur got bit in OotP?)) So he couldn't heal himself, and he was bleeding out too quickly, and when a person loses that much blood, they're done for. So back off, okay? He'd spent his life fighting, but his life was over.
When I’m 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I’ll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, "After all this time?" And I will say, "Always."
@drealgrin Actually, in the movie I believe he does. Of course in the book it was all Nagini. In the movie; Severus' colour up all the way, then Voldemort makes a slashing movement with his wand and his collar is almost ripped open. You'd challenge Voldemort while he was in possession of the Elder Wand? Hm, well good luck with that! Severus died like a hero.
I find it so touching that just like how Snape died with Lilly's eyes being the last thing he saw (how he asked harry to look at him and then he told him he had his mother's eyes) the music ends with Lilly's Theme. It just goes to show that in life and death Lilly is the first, last and only thing Snape will ever hold close to him.
Even if you had no idea this song was in Deathly Hallows, the music itself would make you cry. It's so beautiful. Out of all the books I've read, Snape has got to be my favorite and the person I admire most. I've never read, heard or seen of a love so raw and true. What Romeo and Juliet and Edward and Bella had compares nothing to what Snape felt for Lily.
The Princes' Tale broke my heart when I read it and found out Severus never had love.

@kyaraisverliefd No. Snape, met Lily at ten years old, and fell in love with her. But after he called her a Mudblood one day, out of humiliation she would have nothing to do with him (they had been best friends)
He became a death eater, then heard a prophacy about the one who could destroy Voldemort. Voldemort thought it meant Harry and went to kill the whole family. Snape then begged Dumbledore to keep them safe, and in return spied on the death eaters for him. Read the book...it explains it.
@kyaraisverliefd No. Harry was a constant reminder of what Snape lost. He loved Lily since he was a boy and they were good friends while at Hogwarts until he called her a Mudblood, by accident. And when Snape joined the Deatheaters, Lily severed all ties with him. After Voldemort kills Lily, Snape agreed to protect Harry for Lily's sake. I know... I'm really annoyed at myself because I was born the year the first book came out and my mum never read me the books when I was a child. I wish I could have had the thirteen years of Potter experience from the moment I was born. :(
@Avadakedavrak I know this isn't my conversation but had to ask. If you're talking about the 3rd book where Harry is surrounded by dementors, Harry saved himself. The patronus was a stag, not a doe.
@Avadakedavrak Snape's Patronus is a doe, because he was in love with Lily since they were children. If you read the books and/or payed attention to the movie, you would know that Harry was the one who produced the Patronus, saving him and Sirius from the Kiss. His is a Stag, like his father's.
They did this scene really well in the movie. I was tearing up. What I like is that despite harry's feelings toward Snape, he still went to him as he lay there dying, trying to comfort him. And you could tell that Harry felt bad for Snape. Whatever hatred he had had disappeared.
After i watched Harry Potter ad Deathly Hallows i realised that it was S. Snape who protected Harry Potter in Hp and Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry thought that it was his father who protected with his Patron of deer. Rest in peace Snape...
@WodoShowsOfficial Im sorry but in the book harry originally thought the stag (not a doe) was his father, but when they went back in time harry cast it to save his past self.
@WodoShowsOfficial No, I have read the book, a few times, Harry goes back in time with Hermione, thinking he saw his Dad save him and Sirius, then realises it was himself who saves them, he steps forward and casts a very powerful patronous..
I think you're getting mixed up with the Seventh book where Snape sends his patronous that leads Harry to the sword of Gryffindor in the lake:-)
so how about you read the book, and get your facts right.
I always thought Snape was the best in Harry Potter. He was the most complex and trialed character. It's in this movie that you realise that Snape is not only on the good side, but a good person too. he really did care for Harry and when you really think about it Snape had a rough childhood too. He lost Lily and his parents divorced when he was a baby. (That wasn't in the movie)
It's not that I don't like the vocals in this, it's just that the vocals in this were used in 2 other tracks. I'm sorry to say that I'm slightly disappointed in the new composer and I think that he could have done a little bit more original
@kitadefan007 *Cough* Its a reflection of the story. its Lily;s Theme inserted in "Snapes Demise" to echo the true force behind Snapes actions that utterly brings about his death. He loved Lily all his life and at the end he asked Harry to look at him because he had his mothers eyes and that was what Snape wanted to die looking into.
i love how part of Lily's theme is in Snape's Demise. it's showing that all of Snape's life, all the way till his death, was lived and ended because of Lily. Lily was his life, his goal, his mission, his reason for the things he did, his reason for caring for the son of the man he hated, his reason for taking death like a HERO.
@EloquentQueenn yes the part from 0:30 is pretty much lily's theme from there. glad they did it that way though as lily is the cause for all of snapes discions.
Eventhough Dumbledore was the greatest wizard of all time and Harry Potter is the boy who survived the strike of Voldemort and defeated him, it will be Snape who will be remebered for tricking Voldemort and for being the true hero of the series.
so many great men died in this story, Lupin, Snape, Dumbledore, It's like that's what J K Rowling is afraid of isnt it, like losing her dad, or her husband dunno just my oppinion
Is it wrong that I'm a guy and I cried?

It's also the opening song for 7-2, when Snape is looking down as the students entering school being watched by death eaters.
His face was unreadable, but the sight of his back was so bleak and sad.
The bravest man ever continued to carry his mission alone to the very end.

WodoShowsOfficial 6 months ago
@WodoShowsOfficial Im sorry but in the book harry originally thought the stag (not a doe) was his father, but when they went back in time harry cast it to save his past self.
Mr5D1074 6 months ago
@WodoShowsOfficial No, I have read the book, a few times, Harry goes back in time with Hermione, thinking he saw his Dad save him and Sirius, then realises it was himself who saves them, he steps forward and casts a very powerful patronous..
I think you're getting mixed up with the Seventh book where Snape sends his patronous that leads Harry to the sword of Gryffindor in the lake:-)
so how about you read the book, and get your facts right.
12alexdavis34 6 months ago
@Avadakedavrak actually it was Harry who protected himself
penguinrocker666 6 months ago
@penguinrocker666 yes thats true but the doah that came by in the third movie belonged to snape
bakubrawlers 6 months ago
@bakubrawlers There was no doe in Prisoner of Azkaban. The only corporeal patronus in that movie was Harry's stag.

Kinda ironic how snape was half killed by a spell he invented, it's like being impaled upon your own sword...

It's not that I don't like the vocals in this, it's just that the vocals in this were used in 2 other tracks. I'm sorry to say that I'm slightly disappointed in the new composer and I think that he could have done a little bit more original
kitadefan007 6 months ago
@kitadefan007 *Cough* Its a reflection of the story. its Lily;s Theme inserted in "Snapes Demise" to echo the true force behind Snapes actions that utterly brings about his death. He loved Lily all his life and at the end he asked Harry to look at him because he had his mothers eyes and that was what Snape wanted to die looking into.

he performed one of the best deaths i have ever seen
sovietthug97 6 months ago 3
i love how part of Lily's theme is in Snape's Demise. it's showing that all of Snape's life, all the way till his death, was lived and ended because of Lily. Lily was his life, his goal, his mission, his reason for the things he did, his reason for caring for the son of the man he hated, his reason for taking death like a HERO.

EloquentQueenn 6 months ago
@EloquentQueenn yes the part from 0:30 is pretty much lily's theme from there. glad they did it that way though as lily is the cause for all of snapes discions.

Eventhough Dumbledore was the greatest wizard of all time and Harry Potter is the boy who survived the strike of Voldemort and defeated him, it will be Snape who will be remebered for tricking Voldemort and for being the true hero of the series.

"For Him " Snape says and produces the petronus who takes the form of a doe (That was Lily's petronus) .
Dumbledor (incredibly surprised) : After all these years ?
Snape (in utter grief) : Always ....
