  • good background music

  • This sounds like he cut and paste Silent Night into a jam. Yikes. Pass.

  • @clovis2012 it's called "silent night / holy night jam" for a reason :p

    merry axemas!

  • @clovis2012 Fuck you!

  • This is certainly a fantastic song, but as far as Christmas spirit is concerned, "Christmas Time is Here" by Steve Vai captures the Christmas feeling better

  • Thanks fo Upload

  • best

  • Satriani kind of did get carried away with this tune. No doubt he does some serious guitar licks, but I think it's a wee bit too much for Silent Night. Joe's so damn good on the ax he forgot it was Silent Night. Go Joe!!! You're still the best!!!

  • @yocuzz100

There can never be to much guitar sir.

  • and yet this is my most favorite song from the album

  • as a Satch song, this is great...but as a Christmas song, this is a little too much.

  • love the bass riff!

  • the drums intro sucks... the guitar rocks!

  • grande maestro! eres increiblemente grande!

  • At my daughters apartment in Taipei. I have been listening to this

CD for a few years now and it just gets better every year. Merry Christmas.

  • wow, just beautiful as always!

  • vaya mierda de tema!

  • Great song, but it is not meant for this album. Its not a christmas song.

  • The Drums and bass are too much. Tis a nice song, but it is not silent night.

  • I'm a HUGE fan of Joe, but I gotta say, I kinda hate his version of this song. Great playing, great tone, but five minutes of lydian mode jamming with a "silent night" intro/outro does not a christmas song make.

Somewhat predictably, I think Setzer really kicked everyone else's ass on this CD. But then, I guess that when it comes to the bizarre "Christmas guitar rock" genre, he's kinda got an unfair "experience" advantage on anybody else(!)

  • the first 2 minutes are atrocious; then it kicks in, but i have no idea what is playing...but is good :)

  • good audio quality

  • gave me goosebumps

  • What a sound!! the tone is intense!

  • its okay, nothing too special. I AM a huge fan though. I wish he wouldnt stayed traditional "ala ten words"

  • o yes what a christmas song top class love it satriani pure class satch your the best merry x mas

  • OMG! this is better than Mrs. Clause tits!

  • Love it!!

  • Heat filled no question Joe Frikken Satriani Silent Night Jam Merry Christmas

  • When he first starts jammin' it sounds like the 15th ? (kingdom of lal) trac from Flying in a Blue Dream. Frigging great.

  • omg love this!

  • meh.

  • best version of this song

  • You are all privileged to have Joe in our time. After he is gone, he will still be seen as a revolutionary just as Jimi Hendrix is now. Hail the KING............

  • @SirGougeAlot this is so true!!!

  • @SirGougeAlot

    Hail, Hail!!!

  • @SirGougeAlot Born in 1991, I sometimes wonder if I really shouldn't have been in the 50s or so. I would've loved to have seen the King (ya know, Elvis) perform live (and other musicians that were popular back in the days), but with all this technology I have access to great old music and some less popular new musicians so easily. Satriani truly is a King of instrumental (rock) music. It baffles me he hasn't been called the King before.

  • yeap this is satch allright! thats his licks and sound!

  • to the accoustic punk 288,this album can be found on amazon.if you like this you should check out jimi hendrix version of silent night!

  • Anyone know where to get this album? I can't find it anywhere! This song is amazing, as well as "Christmas Time is Here", done by Steve Vai.

  • the vai song is on the infinite steve vai: the anthology as well as the 7th song collection

  • there are no bad notes at :54, he is playing around the melody line...

  • There's no way you could not love JESUS and NOT love this song too.

  • I have the album.....this IS Joe Satriani....he's credited for this song on the album. And its totally his playing.

  • Really - have a look at this..TW1Nqrm33E0, I think you'll agree even the best don't get it perfect all the time.

  • is this live or a cd w/ the g3

  • I wouldn't call 0:54 a mistake

  • i think it might be intenchional...if this is a live cd then yaa...maybe its a mistake

  • you're right, and perhaps it gives sort of an edge to it :)

  • This song (Silent night/Holy night Jam) is on the album Merry Axemas: A Guitar Christmas. Other artist's performing on the album, besides Joe Satriani, is Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Joe Perry, Brian Setzer, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Steve Morse, Alex Lifeson, Richie Sambora, Hotei and Jeff Beck, all playing classical Christmas songs! It was released in 1997, and reissued 2005!

  • Or i dont think the intro is

  • Grande joe bella performance, sei il migliore

  • nice

  • i love it

  • I Love this CD!!!

  • I listened to this 4 years ago in a guitar shop around xmas time. and even now, I still hold this song and it's sound very close to my heart. Go Satriani!

  • wooow that is so beautiful. did you notice when you sat there, you kinda felt like you were there watching him, getting mesmerize.
