  • @combatcommand idiot -_-

  • the split was cool, and I love how Podzniakov just calmly turns and walks away...

  • Go russia

split in the begining was insane

  • il commnto rai fa schifo a dio.. non capiscono niente

  • 1:24 You stand there, you're gonna get hit.

  • One of the best things about sabre is there's no bullshitting around, unlike with the other two weapons.

  • @combatcommand are you retarded?

  • 0:47

  • im surprised by how emotional they get.. either by striking or being struck they seem to respond too much. ...It seems to lack a certain grace that I was expecting

  • @jekylfoot Well as a club or high school sporting event, it may be slightly frowned up due to lack of sportsmanship, but they've come so far to be the best of the best; one touch really makes a difference and it's something that makes a person emotionally stressed

  • the amount of emotion running through a fencer at any level makes them respond with a scream from either frustration or from sheer exhilaration and adrenaline from that last touch. the grace is in the scream and in the amount of effort they put into each action.

  • @jekylfoot , there's also something to be said for the possibility of affecting the refs decisions. If both lights go on and one guy yells as if he got the touch, and the other guys just turns around and goes back to the line, it may influence the ref, and every touch counts.

  • @jekylfoot That's because it's sabre. If you want grace, watch foil.

  • @crazypineapples91 saber has as much grace as foil. and it takes more athletics in my opinion.

  • I'm fencing sabre now (after 15 years of epee fencing).

Pozdniakov is really one of my heros!

    :o)

  • @leuchtfeuer1

that's a pretty damn big transition.

  • @thegameulost

    You're right!

But I tried once and felt in love...!

No way - that's my weapon now!!!

    ;o)

  • @leuchtfeuer1

I can see why. It looks like an exciting form of fencing.

  • You know, this is a great sport. . Im stating to like it the more I watch. I don't know whats happening, exactly. But I know. white is bad. Green is good. Red is very good.

  • White doesn't happen in sabre. Green, in this case means guy on left hit, red means guy on right hit.

  • 0:37 = ouch?

  • mask are different sizes to suit the persons and make them feel confortable while fighting

  • Pozdniakov won the final almost by his own

  • What an amazing spectacle! The Italians are so good fencers, but Pozdniakov seems just like unbeatable

  • maybe...

  • yeah well Pozdniakov is no longer unbeatable... He won't even represent Russia any more, he's retired now. There's really no one else on the Russian team to replace him, but I hope some day there will be.

  • Yes, both Russia and the fencing family will miss him

  • it's the fie rule to have a visor mask since 2005

  • I have a question...

like in the first bout, don't you lose priority if you shake your arm up and down with your sword like that?

  • yes, but in any moement Podzniakov did an attack so the only light wich turned on was from Montano.

  • Russian Sabre team is like the best in the world.

  • awsome vid sabre is soo fun

  • the split at 34 seconds is sweet. the effort to stay in bounds was aweosme.

  • Thank you so much!
