Great video! For those who want hundreds of free chess lectures on any aspect, please check out my channel. I finished =17th in the British chess championships
Hey guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but instead of a3, Qa4? It cramps the Queen yes, but it would force the Bishop to an innactive diagnol, and with the Knight protecting against a pawn push, you would buy at least two turns for advancement on the Queenside.
it has inspired me and openined my eyes to a whole new world of chess, a completley brand new way of looking at the board stratigically!
im sure many people will believe me to be over reacting and that i should calm down but theres so much i want to learn about chess, i feel like no amount of life span is long enough to learn what chess "really" is
6:20 is why I don't like playing king's indian as black. The way d5 is vulnerable for black to become dominated. after rook b1, b4 destroys the pawn structure for black and makes him more vulnerable to the fianchetto.
You're a very good teacher. I watched the end at your site and I was able to understand techniques I couldn't from a book because of your in depth explanation of why each move was being made. THANKS!
I've just finished watching the rest of the video on the website.
Luis Coelho is a really great teacher, he explains every idea in full and explores likely candidate moves in every position. He's also very funny and gets involved too, I laughed out loud when he showed a bad rook capture which would lead to getting mated and said "this would give me nightmares for one week - sleepless".

Sorry, maybe I'm missing something, but why play a5? If b4 then e4, pinning the knights with the bishop and pawn.

Good video. But felt the start was a waste of time with the Bio from the teacher. We want chess stuff, not trivia.

I agree. Trust he will take the constructive advice onboard.

@chessvideos good video but can you explain why d4 is not as important as d5?? just because black plays for central dominance?
