  • what is CAD specifically used for? anyone? thanks

  • @drumzz777 used for detailed drawings - floorplans, sections, details, layouts like electric, notes, and etc. More sophisticated than Sketchup in 2d area. you can export CAD files into Sketchup for quick 3d models.

  • There is an iPad app that lets you view sketchup models. Runs really fast and has measurements and solid cut planes. It's called iCAD Professional and it has a free demo version, iCAD Free.

  • How the hell do you fucking cut objects out in this damn program?!

  • I like it that Google put this video in the Expert section of GSU tutorials. . .

  • where is the windows or the doors???? these are ugly holes!!!!

  • The key with apple on it is called Command. So it would be Command-C and Command-V.

  • @DoomFist94 I think it's a feature of the pro version of Sketchup :)

  • @Sponge1310 No its not cause i dont have pro and all you have to do is go up and look for: View then go to Toolbar then click on styles to view it

  • even i can make better doors and windows.

  • asdfasdfasdf

  • how do u bring all the walls up at the same time ???like at the start ..please some1 write back .. ive sketchup 7

  • @smul08 hold shift while u push pull i thkn

  • thanks a lot bud

  • @smul08 There's a video on that somewhere - but basically get rid of any cross-wall connecting lines at corners and intersections - so everything push-pulls together as one mass. If you miss a couple - you can just dbl-click to repeat your push-pull.

  • thanks again ,

  • @moucon does this thing have any resemblance to studio 3d max, can i do those same thing there... well just wondering

  • The walls are the same surface, you have to delete some lines created in the walls so the walls are all connected, creating one surface.

  • LOL nice start

  • what version of sketch up is this i have sketch up 7 pro the newest one and i have less then half the tools that you are using

  • click your menu > view > toolbars > large toolset

  • Doesn't look too hard. He's flying pretty fast and it looks simple enough.

  • CAD is annoying.:| :[

  • Oh man cad is so hard i have it as one of my classes

  • MAN i dont understand this i have to use it now:(

  • i hate cad i got that as a class and it is mad hard

  • eh? i get it but just 1 thing? how do you delete the door with the push/pull tool?

  • Hi,I have watched ur sketchup tutorial from importing cad till doors and windows and found it very useful. Thanks a lot for uploading this video.

I have a doubt regarding sketchup, can u pls tell me how to do the first floor and placing it on the ground floor plan?

I would appreciate it fi you could help me regarding this.

    Thanks once again

  • tyyyyyyy

  • You sound like David Schwimmer

  • Thanks!

  • Pros that are expert at AutoCad 2d'3d use this.

Why do you think that is?

  • its faster. This program is now a requirement to work at an architecture firm.

  • SEE YOUR ENT DOCTOR PLEASE

  • Great technique! however, Most CAD applications will do 3D themselves now.

  • ich brauche kein Plan von 2d. Der Plan ist bei mir das Programm selber gleich 3d mit dem ich es creiere. Ich finde, Pläne sind alt aus Zeiten von Papier.

  • u can add door, windows components into holes!

  • its just holes not doors or windows... someone's gotta get a good ass kicking from d lecturer/boss with these type of models..

  • Yeah, the door and window 'holes' can be turned into components. Each component can be edited into a more refined door or window.

  • is that even a door? how u do door nobs or handles?

  • wat about sliding doors?

    how u do them?

  • Un...I think you can slide them using SketchyPhysics.

  • The floor plan was imported from a CAD program. It's a great way to make a 3D model but you can also start from scratch and use your imagination.

  • i there a way i can scan a floor plan and import it?

  • You can scan a floor plan and use it as a photo. You can draw over it in Sketchup with the tools. But I don't think you can scan and have the file be immediately editable as a Sketchup file. You can start fresh in Sketchup and make your own floor plan. It shouldn't take very long.

  • how do u get the floorplan option

  • how do u make those floorplan on and off tab appear

  • how do you toggle those walls?

  • These are not doors or windows. They are holes.

  • @daytraderaz1 really? if you take down the door to your room it IS a hole

  • i cant make the door or windows, like i mean i dont know how to push and pull it so theres notthing, do u get me? help plz

  • lol i use the pencial and od it that way.

  • blender needs to learn from sketch up

  • This program is great. I like 'perfect' geometry. I like the stitching and alligning and everything. Sometimes I prefer this look over those realistic (more chaotic) geometry and textures you see in games. This is a perfect tool for interiors in games.

  • when i try and remove the section for my door it doesnt work. what am i doing wrong?

  • sick skills, thumbs up sketchup guys,

    keep posting those tutorials:D

  • which program is the Cad-file created in?

  • Autocad

  • google sketchup free

  • well it depens if you buy the pro software it willl cost you around $500 for the software but if the have the non pro then it is free

  • which program is the Cad-file created in?

  • youve helped thanks

  • good tutorial, i've learn a lot. thanks !
