Brilliant video. Well done to the bint that recorded it. Shows just how many cyclists(of all ages and both sexes) ignore red lights, cycle on paths and fail to slow down and give way.
Well done.
PS There's a reason that penny farthings were only a stage in the evolution of the bike and progress moved on past it.

If I wanted to makea prick of myself, I'd ride an 19th centuary bike in the 21st centuary, annoying every other road user, flouting the highway code thinking that there's only me in my world and fuck everyone else cos this is fun!
I sincerely hope that you're knocked off it and injured - hopefully it would knock some sense into your skull.
you hope that im knocked off and injured? thats extremely harsh and im very offended, just as i was very offended the last 5 times its happened to me....

Of course I do! Cyclists behave like they have a different set of rules to other road users. Why shouldn't cyclists be subject to the Highway Code just as every other road user is? If I had the right of way with you pulling out in front of me then I'd excercise it and you'd be the loser both in terms of injuries and in the eyes of the law. Does it take physical harm to hammer home the fact that cyclists are subject to the H.C.?
You cycle that penny farthing under your own rules at your own risk.
cars break far more rules than cyclists, if they didnt, there wouldnt be any need for critical mass and events like it, i see cars and buses cutting me up and running red lights everyday, and please stop talking like its me whos riding the penny farthing, because it isnt

Im not excusing other road users behaviour but the majority do abide by the law and HC. Cyclists, on the other hand, generally seem to think that the law and HC doesn't apply to them. As the more vulnerable group of road users I would have thought that they would adhere to the the rules from a point of self-preservation but this seems to be completely missing.
Put it this way; if I have right of way and you fail to allow me it then I will take it - even if it means you're going to be injured.
ok the last thing ill say is look at it this way....cars hit cyclists when cyclists have right of way....so we have nothing to lose by running red lights and riding against traffic and whatever else pisses you off, im not saying that EVERY cyclists has that attitude, because they dont, but i do
You have nothing to lose..? let me see here, would you or the driver of the car or get hurt in a collison between the two? I am no traffic angel on a bike myself, but to be fair I think one would have to be a hypocrite if you complain about how drivers drive when they don't follow the rules on a bike themselves.
thats correct, i have nothing to lose, glad to see your reading skills are upto scratch, as far as that statement goes, it isnt about ruels of the road, its about getting injured, in 8 years ive been hit by cars 5 times, everytime it was their mistake, so even if i never ran a light, or went against the flow of traffic, i still would have been hit and injured, thats why i have nothing to lose by breaking the rules
As a sexist I had simply assumed it was a man who'd ridden an ordinary to unwich... This movie It gives you a real feel for how BLOODY HIGH an ordinary is. You're really up above the traffic - great view, but it's a long way down if anything goes
wrong (and you really get an appreciation for how skilled the lovely Charlotte is in riding the beast - she seems completely under control even when moving very slowly among close packed people).
Its all good and well when everyone behaves themself, but people are using this for an excuse to abuse other road users/pedestrians. the last couple ahve ended in a few punch ups, caused by some of our fellow cyclists
Some nice footage! I had my atc2000 on but the first video became corrupted and the rest wasn't really that great as I hadn't aligned the camera properly! I'll have to cut together the few reasonable clips I've got and upload them later.
I hope no one brake checks me on a penny farthing!!

Much as I love the idea of this event, I have never liked the way you all carry on through red lights at pedestrian crossings while on mass.
Stopping traffic I don't care about, as we do the same thing when we are out on large numbers of motorbikes, safety 1st :D
