I was an Electronics Technician onboard from 82-84 and 86-88. I had both good and bad times on the Midway, but it has turned out to be the only ship out of 7 that I served on that I care to remember. I checked onboard for the first time the day I turned 21, and left for the last time the day I turned 27. Saw it in Bremerton for a COC ceremony in ~95, it looked terrible, but I visited Midway as a museum in 2010 and I started to tear up almost immediately, it looked how I remembered it. Good job!
MY FATHER REPAIR THAT SHIP IN SBMA, PHILIPPINS IN 1987 HAHAHAHA! MY FATHER ALREADY REPAIRED 8 AIRCRAFT CARRIERS, 2 BATTLESHIPS AND A DOZEN'S OF DESTROYERS AND ALMOST A DOZEN OF SUBMARINE IN SBMA! PHILIPPINES! SINCE 1982-1992 WHEN THE CONGRESS AGREE TO REMOVE THE US SOLDIERS IN PHILIPPINES, I DONT KNOW WHYxd
at the top deck you can see red drawings of planes and there a 8 drawings there are 2 of them that are different from the other six and there you have it.
Thankyou, did some additional research and found that she indeed never engaged any enemy aircraft herself. Her airgroup on the other hand did engage in some of the limited air-to-air combat that presented itself during Vietnam including BOTH the first and last air-to-air kills of Vietnam which accounts infact for 5 of those 8 shillouettes.
Great video.I visted the Midway in november its awsome. The guy with the yellow hats on there gave me a in depth tour I was there for hours..How the hell does it float its huge..Deff recomend everyone to go there.I love California and San Diego deff going back there...Thanks

When? She was commisioned too late to serve in WWII and the last time a US carrier group was subjected to direct air attack was WWII.
