@TheJimmax its called flash burn. i build power plants for a living. And when we work with the welders you can get flash burn. When that happens you are suppose to use vics vapor rub under your eyes.

Not likely electrocuted but likely shorted a wire out to ground or between a couple phases. I'm smelling some burned eye lashes and brows. Seen it, done it burned my face and hand up on some 480V in a motor control panel. This looks like it was no more than a 120VAC short. If he got zapped there wouldn't be sparks, he becomes the path to ground.

To the people discussing phone line voltage: It is normally 48V, however gets kicked up to either 88 or 92 when the phone is actually ringing. In the beginning, remember that phones had bells in them, and the higher voltage was required to engage the solenoid to power the bells while the phone rang. This is true at least, of the USA's PSTN.
a phone line only had 50V running down it its not enought to make that kind of arc that was 110V 120V live u cam see the ecectric meter beside him and he should of turn off the power to the line before carring out the repair

@beergut111 Okay. I agree with questioning why someone would record themselves working, but then again this is 2010 where filming stupid stunts is much easier to do. This may have been set-up, I am not arguing that. But in every way shape and form this an arc flash from a source voltage to a grounded box/wire/whatever it may be.

To the people discussing phone line voltage: It is normally 48V, however gets kicked up to either 88 or 92 when the phone is actually ringing. In the beginning, remember that phones had bells in them, and the higher voltage was required to engage the solenoid to power the bells while the phone rang. This is true at least, of the USA's PSTN.

a phone line only had 50V running down it its not enought to make that kind of arc that was 110V 120V live u cam see the ecectric meter beside him and he should of turn off the power to the line before carring out the repair
