I don't know about Donnie Darko. Never really liked the cover of Tears for Fears "Mad World". The only reason the kids liked it is because they were unaware of the original.
@McLarenMercedes I'm not so sure about that. I love the Tears for Fears version and I heard it before this version. But I think this one is better. Whoever sang it has such a haunting quality to his voice that really adds to Donnie Darko's ending.
I love American Psycho! The part where they're comparing business cards slays me! Christian Bale's performance is phenomenal, it's like there are so many contradictions within that one character. He's a suave ladies man/serial killer, but during the daytime he's a raging geek. He says all these things that make him sound so profound, while at the same time he's as shallow as a puddle.
well i mean the movie was able to show the surreal and cold 80s atmosphere alot better than the book, and yes the book is boring as hell in alot of ways (i think it's supposed to be to show a sort of disconnected message), but i just loved how generally fucked up it was. microwaving a jellyfish and feeding the tentacles to your dog? classic.
Donnie darko was good because it was one of those movies that was a thinker and you had to watching more than once... the directors cut was a long ass movie though....
Donnie Darko was one of my favorite movies of all time! <33 the ending of all the movies you choose are all so amazing, and I hope to be able to see the ones I haven't so far ;P

American Psycho is a work of art that deserved oscars, not only for Bale's superb performance but for the whole film

I didn't care for Magnolia as much as I did American Beauty...but I liked the ending better.

I have to say the all time greatest ending to a movie, is from A Clockwork Orange. "I was cured alright". Just priceless.

have you ever read the book?
elea1885 2 years ago
I tried but I didn't make it through. I think a character that shallow just comes across as a little bit boring in a book. Ok, well, he did to me.
