my your quite charming and beautiful, like the ending , maybe you rush it, but that's perfectly fine. wouldnt you agree? i mean i dont know about music yet, but bywhat you hear, what do you think. could you have slowed down, or is it fine by you? either way its beautiful, i need to learn this. Someday.someday.
Bravo, cowenby, everything you say is spot on - Tobymilner, why make the stupid comment that it doesn't flow? One of the best aspects of her interpretation is that it does flow. Brahms asks for contrast in this piece - it is playful but at the same time rich with lyrical warmth. The very essence of this performance is that while capturing the sprightly rhythm, she also conveys the joyous ecstatic undertow. It is tragic that you that you can listen to playing like this and not be moved by it.

This is a prime example of tasteless (and pointless) wishy-washy 'over-romanticized' playing, lacking the slightest trace of rhythmic consciousness. Terrible.
Did you know Wilhem Kempff version of these works by Brahms...? Top 10 and good point for comparison. I miss him so much at keyboard when I listen to so many other versions...he was definitive!
hmfreedman, I'm sorry, but I totally disagree. She has done a fine job with this piece. She has brought the melody out extremely well. Her phrasing is superb. Brahms would be proud to hear this work performed by the Ms. Koblar.
this sublimely lyrical late work of brahms has here been butcherd, chopped up, and regurgitated with a few flourishes to show "expressiveness"--no comprehension of this music whatsoever.might as well play it on a set of drums.

She's good, but a little too fast and not rhythmic enough. I still would though ;)
