Instead of teaching this way, I found a way that's a lot easier.
2x^2-x-15 [Find what multiplies into (-15 X 2 = -30) and adds to (-1). Here you find -6, 5]
Substitute the 2 numbers into the equation and group factor.
(2x^2 - 6x)(5x-15)
2x(x-3)+5(x-3)
Now that both bracketed items are the same, you can be sure that your answer is correct. Take the unbracketed items and rearrange the equation so they are together.
why cant you be my math teacher? I would get straight 100s in that class unlike now.
