many of my friends is a small time expert on byzantinedress, and military tactics and as far as i know havent lived in turky or sweden or the UK, for any extended period,
you can still have expertise and not live there it just helps if you live there for a decent period, because you get more exposure.

Almost any sword design you can think of, has been made in some point in history.
"Ninja's" didn't carry membership cards and all carry "Ninjato's" like Samurai's carried Katana's. Think about that. I saw this guys video explaining the history of the straight bladed "ninja" sword. I have watched a few old ninja movies made before 1965 and it turns out this guy is right. I don't know who this greg is or why this guy is hating on him but he is right about the history of the ninja sword.

I dont know about whether the To-or straight sword was individaully Japanese or not. But I have been to Korea and I know they had straight swords, pommel straight swords and O handle straight swords. Also , conversly there are straight swords in the Iga, and Koga Ninja books that I have also in the museums according to the books. The Rai group originated in Korea but was taught supposedly in Okinawa, also had straight swords. SO????

Its possible that they used Chokuto. In reality, I'm pretty sure the trademark "Ninja-to" was curved. Wakizashi length with a very long handle and a very long sheathe to fool Samurai into duels.
I also think it's possible they used straight swords, but it was noted that they were not as effective. If anything, i think it's out of poor budget to craft these swords, kill a samurai, and take his. Or find another way to get better swords, which in most cases, belonged to Samurai anyway.

many of my friends is a small time expert on byzantinedress, and military tactics and as far as i know havent lived in turky or sweden or the UK, for any extended period,
you can still have expertise and not live there it just helps if you live there for a decent period, because you get more exposure.

That's why we go through the trouble of exposing him. That's basically stealing another country's culture, and it's just plain disgusting and childish in general. Almost any sword design you can think of, has been made in some point in history.
"Ninja's" didn't carry membership cards and all carry "Ninjato's" like Samurai's carried Katana's. Think about that. Why would a spy/assassin/political activist carry a sword that says "I'm a ninja" ? Ninjato's -did- exist in history, but "NInja's" used their own weapons and they were not one group of people. They were all different.

So, i called him on it, because he modeled his comment (poorly) in the form of a citation, as though it were a debate.
