i am having trouble getting my water level down to where you have it.. i cant see the water level but its not up to the cup either.is that fine or do i need to get it lower so i can see the water level and mine has no bubbles going through it..it just looks like clear water..
You can't beat this skimmer, just got mine yesterday and i love it, after seeing this video i know that it takes time to build up and to get right, also find out that there isn't much pluming to them. a male to male reducer 3/4 to 1/2 works well on the intake side, but only 1/8 to 3/16 in depth into the pump housing. But who's complaining..lol
wow how are you getting so many bubbles?? i have the in sump version and all i get is very big bubbles and i dont know how to make microbubbles like the one in your video

Honestly i dont know what people have against Jebo and Odyssea i love their stuff. Their Eheim needlewheel clone pumps are freakin amazing. I forgot how so until replacing the 250 Odyssea pump today on this skimmer with both maxi jet and mag drive and they suck so bad compared to my $12 Odyssea 250, honestly except for a real Eheim i would never have anything else on this skimmer.
@badvegan....Maxi-jets and Eheims are better pumps, the reason they suck on this skimmer is because they are not needlewheel propellers. They have regular propellers made for pushing water, not chopping bubbles, so you get larger bubbles. The only way to really compare to mesh mod the MJ and eheim, then they would probably be better.
Cheap skimmers produce just as well as the expensive ones if you're willing to put in the effort to get them set right. Also note to those interested that all Skimmers have a break in period of a couple days to even a month so patients usually is your best bet to successful skimming. I've read on a lot of forums about people having a lot of success with this skimmer because they put forth the effort to make it work. You get what you pay for works both ways. Expensive does not equal success.
i am new to skimmers and i have no idea how to tune it. its a no name brand but it has the air tube comming from the pump and an air hole that i can but a tube on the exterior right before the water goes in. i see the little valve that controlls the water leve but the bubbles are big and im not sure what im doing wrong because on all the vids i see the bubbles are all white and to small to see. if anyone knows what i should do please reply. thanks.
hey bro i just bought one i paid 60 bucks at my local pet store , can you please help me set it up , i connect it and it over flows i got it to were it wont over flow but it seems that the bubble dont make it to the top some one told me it would take like a week till i start seein the magic happen , i see yours is working perfect
dang it, i bought it for $139 off the LFS :/ might have checked on ebay first. I'll remove the sponges tomorrow, need to set him well though. Seems to work cool right now, maybe he can work better tomorrow :)
My 1st Marine aquarium and I do have this exact protein skimmer. Take the sponges off?? I don't think so....slurp go the fishies. Although the instructions do not specify (they really don't give much assistance in them), there is a VALVE between the sponge and reaction chamber to control the water flow (which I found after I perused this video to figure it out). Running smooth as silk, sponges on.
i get alot of bubbles on the botoom of my new ps75 and they get sucked out in the sump does this go away after its broken inn or am i using it wrong????
For all you watching this. Aeroforce skimmer is the better way to go... Got one on e-bay for $65.00. Luck! It's better constructed, and will last a lot longer. This model is like the Sea Clone. It work's for a while, but It won't last and you'll end up buying a new one anyway, trust me.... I've done it.
I have this skimmer... maxi-jet mod works better on this skimmer... you get almost ZERO bubbles with the maxi-jet 1200. I recommend getting the Pro Pack... I have both from Odyssea and the Pro Pack skimmer (new version) kicks the ps75s ass for only 20 more bucks...
im planing on buying one but not to sure if i should, i am reading negative things about this but can u guys let me know how its been working for u guys? and is that really all the mods u got to do to it?
no mods at all. just remove the two sponges is all. works freaking great dude. this video doesn't show how good its working now that I remove both sponges. Its skimming thick green sluge now. get it for the price its so so worth it. I was gonna replace it with a $160 Remora, but not anymore.
by the way I read all that negative stuff too. I was so mad this thing didn't work. but 2 weeks later I figured out to remove the sponges and set the water level right. bam! skim for days!
the water line is at the bottom of the black lip beneath the collection cup (the main body top black section, at the bottom of the black sometimes just above and not to visable)
Dude you have to remove the other sponge on the overflow also. it starts getting clogged and ruins the settings. with out both sponges it works much better!
at the start of the video you can see the intake pump. theres a sponge that covers this section. do not use it and it works a lot better. that is all.
do you guys know what is the cheap website to buy this? because ebay sale it for 50 bucks
