On principle, if you resist arrest, and the officer present sees fit, you should be tasered.

The first, is the possibility - even if remote - that the target might have some sort of physical condition that would conflict very badly with it, like heart problems.
Tasering a man with heart problems, can very easily put him in the hospital, or eve kill him.
