Sorry but being a game programmer and designer I can say this is not nearly as good as Street Fighter, the game play is slow and dated. I would expect a lot more from SNK in 2011 - 2012 since they basically took the genre to new levels with Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters in the 90's this game is just a continuation with what looks like the same engine. It will sell some copies but it will flop.
@thegamerskus I never said player points were significant, I simply stated the gameplay for KoF XIII is dated. If you're gonna debate my post at least stay on subject. Besides I make games for living and SNK was a great inspiration for me, therefore I expect more from the legendary SNK is all.

What killed KOF XII for me was the lack of story and other things to do outside XBOX Live or PSN, like survival and gallery. But it seems like SNK Playmore looked into their success and failures with KOF XII and worked carefully with this and made KOF XIII. All in all, i'm looking forward to this game.
All I need to say is this: whoever decided to remove Mai (only to finally have her return this time) needs to be shot. Newcomer...yeah, how can a face of a franchise be new?

@namikazenigel SVC was a rushed game that snk release just to get some quick money since they were having serious financial problems at the time, if they were to release another SVC that will be a whole diferent story. SVC lacks balance but is fun to some extent I've heard some places in asia is still played. If there's something a really hate about CVS is how capcomnized snk characters feel in those games, completely different. At least in SVC capcom characters feel like their capcom counterpar
@Rukawa11kaede not really, I play both KOF and SF and in SVC they feel all snk like. People play not SF with 4 buttons. With CVS 2 they had all the grooves in the world to match your playing style...most reviews will show. And if SNK came with another SVC now it would be a different story? look at KOF12 that was almost complete fail [well unless that was rushed cause they were in a financial crisis that time too]...in the end I'm still a fighting game fan and i play all *shrug*.

True about the 6 button layout for KOF but i guess the more the better from 6 you can subtract 2 right?! with 4 we can't add those medium atks. and yeah hope kof 13 is good this time around

Let's be honest, KoF 12 turned out horrible because of the time it took to create an entirely new engine for new hardware AND sprite the characters. KoF 13 will likely bring back the balance that's needed along with more characters we love.
Just like with old KoF games, once the engine was established, they could pump those characters out with new versions crazy fast.

King of Fighters exist base on multiple games of SNK creating a dream match. You are right about Capcom doing SF to establish a base on fighting. Without SNK they would not have these new additional gameplay elements, competition and etc. MvC series is hated mostly due to the balance and its casual feel. Just like SSF4 the game is ok in my eyes but Kof13 surpasses it in every area.
I really do not understand why people hate Capcom's MvC and SSF4 so much. Both KOF and SF has its own magics. Showing how much you hate to Capcom games will only give Capcom fans advantages. It proves that Street Fighter did so much better than KOF sequels and you guys are just jealous of their achievement. I am a KOF and SF fan but I love my SSF4 better so far.

@kyuubiflame The "Ex bar" you're talking it's the Ex-meter from SNK, wich is to use you're "Desperation Move". The Ex-moves shown in this video are a rip-off of the Ex-moves Street Fighter used in III and IV. Wich are a single movement done with two punch or kick buttons instead of one. This makes the attack a bit more powerful. Yuri uses that at 2:30, not sure if the past characters do as well. I was a KOF fan until 98, so, don't think I'm trying to insult this game. Just marking the obvious.

@TheAngelmisa I know I know... I'm not judging the overall game. I'm just pointing out the fact that they're introducing EX, which was first introduced in a Street Fighter game. I am very much looking forward to KoF 13, and have high hopes for it. But like you said, I can't judge it until I actually play it... and unfortunately, that was my mistake with KoF 12. I was so excited about the game, but it lacked SOOOO much, and the online was poor. All I could say was, "There's 60$ wasted...."
The only gripe I got about this is the notorious rip-off of EX-Moves. Talking about overall, this KOF looks very fun, but XII looked awesome too and look what happened. Let's look for the final result.
PD: I hope SNK-P to improve the Neo Maxes. Most of them are boooooriiing!!

The theme that starts at 1:30 sounds terribly lot like the Cannon Ball theme from Mega Man Zero 3 ( watch?v=YvmK7onEnVM ).
Other than that, looks pretty damn good, even though I have hardly never played any KOFs beside the very first ones. Gotta love Bogards, though.

Gaaaugh-I'm Looking so forward to this game. Looks like they fixed up a couple of the problems I had with XII..I just hope we don't have to wait half a minute in between rounds and decent netplay.

@namikazenigel SVC was a rushed game that snk release just to get some quick money since they were having serious financial problems at the time, if they were to release another SVC that will be a whole diferent story. SVC lacks balance but is fun to some extent I've heard some places in asia is still played. If there's something a really hate about CVS is how capcomnized snk characters feel in those games, completely different. At least in SVC capcom characters feel like their capcom counterpar

@Rukawa11kaede not really, I play both KOF and SF and in SVC they feel all snk like. People play not SF with 4 buttons. With CVS 2 they had all the grooves in the world to match your playing style...most reviews will show. And if SNK came with another SVC now it would be a different story? look at KOF12 that was almost complete fail [well unless that was rushed cause they were in a financial crisis that time too]...in the end I'm still a fighting game fan and i play all *shrug*.

They're bias. Snk has become a really small company now and they're doing what they can. So far kof xiii looks promising and that what it counts now

@Rukawa11kaede umm not really, I based my opinion on what I've played, which is alot of fighting game, from garou to mortal kombat and I'm a fan of both SNK and CAPCOM....the reviews can't be really biased if all point to the same thing [unless all reviewers conspired against SNK for SVC :/ ]. True about the 6 button layout for KOF but i guess the more the better from 6 you can subtract 2 right?! with 4 we can't add those medium atks. and yeah hope kof 13 is good this time around

SNK isn't dead.
Let's be honest, KoF 12 turned out horrible because of the time it took to create an entirely new engine for new hardware AND sprite the characters. KoF 13 will likely bring back the balance that's needed along with more characters we love.
Just like with old KoF games, once the engine was established, they could pump those characters out with new versions crazy fast.

King of Fighters exist base on multiple games of SNK creating a dream match. You are right about Capcom doing SF to establish a base on fighting. Without SNK they would not have these new additional gameplay elements, competition and etc. MvC series is hated mostly due to the balance and its casual feel. Just like SSF4 the game is ok in my eyes but Kof13 surpasses it in every area.

I really do not understand why people hate Capcom's MvC and SSF4 so much. Both KOF and SF has its own magics. Showing how much you hate to Capcom games will only give Capcom fans advantages. It proves that Street Fighter did so much better than KOF sequels and you guys are just jealous of their achievement. I am a KOF and SF fan but I love my SSF4 better so far.

Um remember the Ex bar from 94 -98 And even in cvs you can choose snk's EX version

@kyuubiflame The "Ex bar" you're talking it's the Ex-meter from SNK, wich is to use you're "Desperation Move". The Ex-moves shown in this video are a rip-off of the Ex-moves Street Fighter used in III and IV. Wich are a single movement done with two punch or kick buttons instead of one. This makes the attack a bit more powerful. Yuri uses that at 2:30, not sure if the past characters do as well. I was a KOF fan until 98, so, don't think I'm trying to insult this game. Just marking the obvious.

@TheAngelmisa I know I know... I'm not judging the overall game. I'm just pointing out the fact that they're introducing EX, which was first introduced in a Street Fighter game. I am very much looking forward to KoF 13, and have high hopes for it. But like you said, I can't judge it until I actually play it... and unfortunately, that was my mistake with KoF 12. I was so excited about the game, but it lacked SOOOO much, and the online was poor. All I could say was, "There's 60$ wasted...."

The only gripe I got about this is the notorious rip-off of EX-Moves. Talking about overall, this KOF looks very fun, but XII looked awesome too and look what happened. Let's look for the final result.
PD: I hope SNK-P to improve the Neo Maxes. Most of them are boooooriiing!!
