Why don't you get things cooking and release Floyd on DVD on demand via some webbsite? It can't be encredible hard to handle rights here and rights there? It's a discrace to Keith that his shows will be forgotten and not introduced to the next generation just because some lazy asses can't agree on the income-split? I'd gladly pay $200 for a complete DVD box.
I was lucky enough to interview Keith at Jean-Christophe Novelli's farmhouse while he was staying there briefly in 2009, it was his last interview in the UK before he went to France, never to return.... If anyone would like the transcript please let me know, he talks about what it takes to make a good chef, the role of creativity and what good food and good company are all about!
I wonder what his opinion would have been on the likes of Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson. Jamie may have done more than his fair share of TV shows but at the same time he's done a huge deal for cookery and food in general. Nigella has also done plenty of TV and is not really a trained chef herself but does have some ability and was good enough to cook for the President of the United States when he visited the UK.
I loved Keith's series 'Floyd's India' and his approach to cooking. A legend!!
Love Kieth Floyd and have been a fan for over 20 years. He was a man who knew how to live life to the fullest. He certainly was NOT politically correct, which takes real courage in today's world.
keith floyd is an awesome cook who will go down in tele history as being one of the best presenters EVER! he has influenced my life in many ways and i have to say RIP keith and i'll have a SLURP in your honor tonight, sir!
i'm watching Floyd uncorcked on trawel chanell, and i thought it a new series, he so old in this interview so sad that he passed away... RIP best coock ever
I remember stumbling across Floyd on tv over 20yrs ago. A great entertainer & his style of travelogue/cooking show are still being copied today, but without his fun & passion. I've so many of his videos, dvds & books. You're sadly missed mate, but you live on for so many of us. I just wish I'd met him.
The man was right, they are generally a bunch of puffed up self important c***s with a few notable exceptions, and not one single one of them is fit even to polish the legendary Keith floyds boots. RIP Keith you are a legend
i think delia was talking about floyd setting off the fire alarms in the hotel in australia ..not the fire on the boat ...rip floyd ..miss ya ..c armstrong nsw australia
All well and good. How many of them went to the funeral?
There is s fuck all of these "Celeb Chefs" doing any good. They all want to line there pockets as fast as possible, Ramsey is known for swearing not for his food. The only thing Antony Worrall Thompson hasnt yet put this name on is a line of used condoms. At least Jamie Oliver and to a lesser extend that River Cottage fella have done some good.
I agree with Keith here - as a trainee chef I really don't like modern tv chefs nowadays as they mask what it REALLY takes to be a chef, i'm an old school chef and admire chefs such as Floyd, Pierre White, Roux brothers, (a few modern ones like Harriot, Bourdain and Novelli)... Gordon Ramsay? Oh please!! No thank you.
A piece of British Culture has been lost, he was a legend. Ramsay is a cunt, I agree with him, all the chefs like that were the emphasis is on them. It's all bollocks. R.I.P. Keith.
Keith you wanker, you lasted a lot longer than I thought you would!! Rest in Peace young man, I loved the way you changed TV cooking, your Ostriches were my all-time favourite!
Keith - so sad we lost you. What a great laugh you were and someone who doesn't give a f**k about pretence, just lived life to the full and never took it too serious. Will miss not seeing you on tele RIP
a loss he was a great guy, and there was nothing protentious about him, he told you how it was, and its a slap in the face for the health bragade, as he loved his wine and spirits and 65, and a heavy drinker and smoker, well, it blows the fucking goverment out of the water regarding smoking and drinking. Keith you were a entertaining, and a well, you were just yourself. Rest in Peace M8.
They don't make 'em like Keith Floyd any more. I always wanted to thank him somehow because by watching his shows he taught me how to cook and made me want to know about food.
A top bloke, he was never frightened of letting his personality show and the world is more boring without him, he's also right about TV producers.
Loved him. Remember him recording a show about Tapas, wandering down the street in and out of pubs/restaurants tasting everything and getting more and more drunk. Great fun. RIP Keith!!!
Keith was great because he was passionate, fun, honest and very entertaining. A wonderful character. The kind of man you'd love to spend the whole night eating, drinking & talking with.
Keith got me into cooking, he got me into the kitchen. I will absolutley miss him, what a fantastic talent who made cooking real, honest and brought the world to us. The Alan Wicker of the kitchen, I raise a glass to you Mr Floyd. Thank you.
I shell miss kieth floyd I found his programes brilliant and amusing. They always used to cheer me up even on bad days. I'll hold a glass up in his honor.
It was nice that he was remembered last week before he died. As his favourite group(stranglers) say" everybody loves you when your dead!" I hope all the !!@X's realise why they are where they are today!!
The man summed it up better than most, sure you can cast scorn on the word 'cunt' but in the end he's so right about the trash generation of 'Chefs' or TV cash cows!
Slowly but surely people are waking up to the sham of just about everyhting we are force fed via TV.
Keith was one of the greats - full of character, passion, honesty and fully equipped with a wicked sense of humour that I really loved. He will be missed but will not be forgotten. O, he could cook pretty good as well.
KF understood the relationships between food, geography and culture better than anyone else. Entertaining. Irreverant. My absolute favorite tv chef. I miss him already.
ooh!! didn't realise he had a nasty side to him in terms of swearing!! quite right chefs should be working in the kitchen not fucking doing stuff for the TV cameras. When floyd was on TV he didn't act like he was on TV he just did his show without any controversional stuff and that this why he is arugably the greatest chef of all time. R.I.P.
I didn't particularly enjoy this programme- far too honest and upfront for my liking, dwelling far too much on a gentleman who was once happy and full of the joys of life, but was now bitter, upset, angry and obviously not well. I'm hoping that a better tribute is forthcoming- Keith Floyd was immensley good fun to watch, and I will miss him as he was, not as portrayed in this documentary- RIP Mr.Floyd.

Rick Stein could not possibly be classified as one of those narcissistic chefs now can he? He seems so natural in the way he presents his shows.

I'm just now learning about Floyd and his legacy.
There is a fantastic chef named Jean Soulard who is at the helm of Le Chateau Frontenac's restaurant "Le Champlain." He's one of my favorites.
I've had the op to eat there 3 times and every time it has been fantastic. : )
