    `Wesołych Świąt.

    `Merry Christmas.

    `Frohe Weihnachten.

    :)

  • I'm English, but it always sounds so much better in German and it was written in German first so anyone complaining is just weird. Same with "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" viel besser auf Deutsch.

  • Silent Night was ORIGINALLY written in German...how can anyone complain about the German version? Thank you for the upload, now I can sing songs of praise to the LORD. YHVH, (Yahuah), in Hebrew, English, Romanian, and now, in German.

  • wow!i love this Carol,my gf is from GERMANY,and im going to sing this to her for Christmas!! its only days away, but im trying my best surprise her..I`m going to sing in German! So stop the hating ppl,its Christmas yo........

  • Without any doubt this has to be sung and listened to in German to capture the feeling and essence of without a doubt the most beautiful hymn there is.In English it's good but in German it's so special.Rememmber the true meaning of Christmas PLEASE.

  • I was carol singing today and I was conducting this...as I was the only person who spoke german, they weren't too happy when i said we were doing stille nacht, not silent night, but i prefer this :)

  • my boyfriend speaks German

  • Without a shadow of a doubt this hymn should be sung in its beautiful german version only, it seems to capture the true feeling of both what the song is about and the festive time of year, just remmeber guys, there will be a lot of our boys and girls overseas this Christmas, spare a thought for them christmas day when you wake up safe in your own bed.......

  • Das ist Schön, Danke. Diese sollten nur in deutscher Sprache. Das tut mir leid für mein Amerikan Landsmann, Sie sind unwissend. :(

  • ich liebe dieser singenn

  • It sounds definitely better in German. I don't know why... and, in the end, it's just my opinion.

  • ich liebe dieser Singen

  • I love the german version of this song. I think the german language is really interesting. Deutsch ist wundebar!

  • this girl that is singin has a big gift

  • On Dec 24,1818,Josef More, curet of a parish in Obendorf,Austria wrote a poem and asked his friend,Hans Greuber, choirmaster&organist in the church if he would write music for his poem and for two solo voices and guitar accompaniment. The organ was broken, he desperately wanted music to be part of the Christmas Eve service. Mr. Greuber wrote the melody to a song that became a beloved Christmas carol.Stille nacht in English, silent night.Schlafe in himmlischer ruh.Sleep in heavenly peace.

  • It's beautiful,in any language.

  • Why anybody came here to argue about the German language, the Nazis, WW2, or Justin Bieber, I have no idea. I came for the music, and I hope you did too. If you didn't I would advise leaving.

  • I love it. <3 I sang this song at a choir concert. In my opinion, Its more beautiful in German. Then again, that may just be me.

  • Thank you! From having, courtesy of Uncle, lived in Germany for eight years, I still prefer the German version of this very lovely carol. The lady singing has a beautiful voice.

  • It's lovely, she has a beautiful voice. I tried to learn German but after a while had to pack it it, I would really like to learn again, as I have a daughter-in-law (to be!) who lives in Berlin and she's fantastic. Stille Nacht is in fact the original Silent Night, so do not show your ignorance. It means the same in any language, that Christ was born into this world to save mankind, ironic isn't it, MAN KIND!!!!! not all of them I fear!!!. Happy Christmas.

  • Thankyousomuchomg!!!! :D I had to learn this for a Nikolausfeier thing my german class is doing :) :) :) Also, even though I personally love german, sorry bout all the idiots that called you racist :3

  • Polacy są wszędzie... !

  • I am half-Geman, and I am very proud to learn this song! Speaking of German... I just bought some German candy...

  • Well, let me tell you, I don't particularly love the German language either. It is all a matter of taste. I personally love English, even though I'm Dutch :P

  • ok, she says that she doesnt like the LANGUAGE! im german, and im not offended. all u people that arent german (im not sure, but of u might not be) are saying that she is a racist beach, and thinking that shes talking about german people in general. shes not racist for saying she doesnt like a language. im not a fan of greek, but that doesnt mean im a racist person. it just means i dont like their language. so just shut up about her being a racist beach. just leave her alone, ok? its her choice.

  • guys knock it off i no that was a year ago but i thought id comment okay and both of u stfu!

  • In 1818 the carol "Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht" was heard for the first time in a village church in Oberndorf, Austria. The congregation Midnight Mass in St. Nicholas Church listened as the voices of the assistant pastor, and the choir director. On each of the six verses, the choir repeated the last two lines in four-part harmony. On that Christmas Eve, a song was born that would wing its way into the hearts of people throughout the world. Now translated into hundreds of languages

  • why are you all getting all worked up, i agree its weird that he doesn't like the German language, which i find to be one of the most beautiful languages ever spoken. But hey, i can't stand spanish.

    Ruh! Wir brauchen Ruhe.

  • i have to sing this song with spanish and korean parts... German is better then Spanish, which we have to learn, but everyone quit, but i still also want to sing this in Korean. at my school the only language available is SPANISH!!

  • German is awful

  • I don't speak German, but you don't need to know the language to tell how well someone sings. I'm not too partial to German, but the singing is beautiful.

  • im singing this for my chours

  • I don't understand why people always link German to Nazis or other bad thing. I had lived in Germany for more than 10 years in 1990s and I love the country and the people. They are with good nature, very cultural background, well educated and self-discplined people, same as you and me from other countries. I love this song and feel it is specially beautiful in German.

  • just wanted to say even though i fear the Germans due to the Nazis i figured i should let that go in away and forgive somehow but yes it dose not make it OK for people to go around and hate on things out of random just to get people mad beside I'm a English girl and i had to sing this song for 6th grade chores class. But as i sung it i was thinking "man why do speak of so much hate about German when really..it happened so long ago?" and for crying out loud people this is a song about Jesus Christ

  • Im german and love this song!! <3 haters back off!!!!

  • i have to sing this in school for christmas.. And i speak english!

  • Ah man, this is beautiful. Thanks for posting it with lyrics!

  • Why the hell do people look this up then bitch about the german language? Why are you here? If you dont like it go watch the english version stupid fucks!

  • To all complaining about the German language: Nobody is forcing you to watch this video.

    -von Munchen, Bayern.

  • Lovely song, thanks for the upload with lyrics! German is a truely beautiful language! Danke :)

  • i love this song

  • my german teacher is making us memorise it for the winter break!!!

  • Jesteś Polakiem ?

  • Ich denke, dass dies die beste Lied ist

  • Danke sehr, Mein Herr!

  • alder was soll die scheiße is doch egal ob stille nacht oder silent night

  • I can only speak English, but sadly I can only sing this song in German. I don't know it in English. I find it funny, and slightly awesome. As for everyone dissing the German (the German people, the Language, or anyone else because of their blood lines or language they speak). It's not very nice. I understand though the whole "school forcing us to learn is so i hate it" thing. Because I had the same problem with Spanish.

  • German is such a beautiful, soft spoken language...it flows and rolls off the tongue, and it's just beautiful to listen to as well as speak and sing. Deutsch ist fantastisch :)

  • This is so much better in German. Gutes Weinacht zum alle in Deutschland (sorry for my appaling German). This always make me think of the winter truce in 1914 - the true spirit of all the Germanic peoples.

  • Stuff you dude i dont care if you hate doing it in school just stfu why post it if you dont like it?

  • No wonder you don't like the German language. You're a Pole.

  • @satanicpanda46 And? Please stop with these stupid stereotypes. It's neither funny nor smart. I'm a Pole too and I like the German langauge. It's been always easy for me to learn it. It just depends if it comes easy to you , because German grammar tends to be difficult sometimes. That's why a lot of people say they hate it which doesn't necessarily mean anything but just that.

  • i like this song

  • Deutsch ist SUPER!

  • i was born in germany and i love german

  • thank you nice.

  • I love this song, it sounds even better in German then it does in English. It' makes me sleepy though every time I hear it.

  • Lol i learn german in school for the first year and its ok just you need to memorize a lot of stuff and gotta learn this song for a german class assignment

  • Koleda Cicha noc brzmi przepieknie w jezyku niemieckim.Ktos kto pisze ze nie nawidzi j. niemieckiego niech najpierw sie go chociaz troszke nauczy, moze wtedy bedzie wiedzial o czym spiewaja.

  • that is amazing thanks

  • Why don't you like German? It is a beautiful Language. You are very rasist

  • @XXSternhyazinthenXX i'm not a rasist, I just don't like it. hello, it's not a sin!

  • @Rose15151 guess you don't speak any other language but your own. You make yourself look rather ignorant with statements like that. Plus, how did you get to this song, if you don't like german. For many people in this world, this song is what christmas means to them. Shame on you to shit over that. Plus, if you need help with anything in german, this would have been the place to ask some germans with their horrible language for help...

  • @Rose15151 soo.... why exactly did you post it?

  • @Rose15151 Then why are you watching this?

  • @TheJesusFreaks11 better question. Why did she post this? lol

  • @Rose15151 Not a sin, it's rude. You insulted alot of people.

You don't have to like the language, but it was unnessesary to add those words. If you don't want people to take you as a racist, then little comments like that should be left quiet.

  • @Rose15151 HELLO! doesn't mean you have to put your opinion in the description when you know there are German people on youtube.

I would say it is racist because you are saying a possibly offensive thing about another race!

    :(

  • @Rose15151 me and my cuzin were learnig this son in german we are part german but we dont speak german very easliy so we learn and your hatred for our language is very hurtful as long as my blood is still fresh and im still standing and breating i say du selber hundert quadratmeter irgenduekhe satan skerl tums up if u agree if u understand what i said and if u just agree with me 110./.

  • @XXSternhyazinthenXX ich habe deutsch gestudiert... ich bin italienisch... I like this song

  • @XXSternhyazinthenXX

why the hell is she/he a racist just because she/he don´t like the language? thats stupid

and learn to spell racist right!

  • Wow. You are a horrible person. The hell is wrong with German? There are AMAZING German singers. Look at the English language! We have to EDIT our voices so they sound good! Any language you speak sounds go too you. You should really learn to STFU and not say anything. If you didn't like the song, WHY POST IT? You're not very bright.

  • @Royed I'm not talking about german people but language. I don't like it, I have to study it in school against my will and it pissing me of. I have to do something like this video for christmas lesson and I posted it for those who have to do the same thing or just want to sing it. this is all story.

  • @Rose15151 Nun müssen wir lernen Englisch in der 2. Klasse und Russisch in Deutschland so ruhig sein

  • @Rose15151 That's exactly how I feel! My school is forcing us to learn mandarin and it's so hard. Now practically everyone in my school hates that language! And they expect so much of us! It's actually a nice language, just that they make us hate it! But I'm still a great fan of German. I'm picking it up now. :)

  • @Rose15151 oh, i know that situation. i'm forced to study french at school... on the other hand, i'd be greatful if i could change it for german... oh god, how i hate french xD

  • @Rose15151 I also lerned german at school and now I'm a german teacher!!! LOL

Well, german is just a language, just like chinese and spanish and turkish, there is no such a bad or horrible language, there are just languages :)

  • @Rose15151 you dont like it,cause your tiny brain cant learn it lol

  • @Royed not every American has to have an edit to their voice when they sing a song =/

  • @Royed Excuse me, but if you are going to post something on a certain someone's video, then don't look like a complete idiot by not knowing how to use proper grammar. Also, not every American has to edit their voices. Just because you may have an awful voice, doesn't mean you have to make our country look bad. Therefore, shut up.

  • @13Xsammy I just remembered what I was talking about..I think I was drunk or something. My text makes no sense. .___.;; No more drinking and Youtubing for me. Anyways, That comment was talking about how almost all of our famous singers use Auto-tune to sing and can't even strum a guitar correctly. America is turning into a cesspool of untalented idiots becoming famous.

  • @Royed

SHUT UP! HE/SHE DOESNT LIKE THE LANGUAGE! BOO-THE-FREAK-HOO! I DONT LIKE GREEK, SO DOES THAT MAKE ME A RACIST PERSON!? NO! IT MEANS I DONT LIKE GREEK! SO JUST SHUT UP ABOUT HIM/HER BEING A HORRIBLE PERSON! GO RIGHT IT IN UR DIARY OR JOURNAL INSTEAD OF TAKING IT OUT ON THIS PERSON! WHAT IF U SAID U DONT LIKE JAPANESE, AND I SAID UR A RACIST PERSON!? HOW WOULD U FEEL!? exactly, thats what i thought! u need to think before u post comments on here! u would feel the same as this person does!

  • It wasn't writen by german it was writen by an austrian. Always Germany oh gosh !!!!

  • Really pretty and peaceful

    Christmas spirit is something great

    Danke schön!

    Schönes Lied :)

  • The singer sings so easily & beautifully.

    + I love this language.

  • HAHA who´s wrong here :D

you really have to think about what youre bosting and what you had better not posted :D

    idiot

  • Hey Alice... I am looking forward to Belgium a lot more now ;) Ha ha ha I love you xxx

  • you know that german is the origin of the english language :D its very close to english, i don´t think it´s aweful, its just not so beautiful. why do you think its awful?

  • @Fleckenfurzz90

    you are completely wrong.

    English derives from anglo-saxons.

  • @tylerganson Well, true as that is, it has both anglo-saxon (which was a low-german I believe) and norman roots, making it both romantic and germanic language, though usually classified as germanic.

  • @TheSupersagee

    racist.

  • @tylerganson Yea ok whatever you sayyy.

  • no its not. wats ur problem and if didnt know silent night was written by a German

  • @TheSupersagee i am german and i take offense to this
