im watching this doc on sugar now and im only 13 minutes in and ive allready come to the conclusion that sugar ray is the best boxer to ever lace up gloves 177 wins befor his first loss and fighting every 2 weeks or so.....hes 1 tough son of a B and a true legend r.i.p the greatest boxer that ever lived !!
@johntashable He didn't have 177 wins before his first loss. Robinson built a record of 40–0 before losing for the first time to LaMotta in a 10 round re-match
@johntashable.Truly Man I don't think words of men can cut it brother!!! R.I.P to the Immortal. Even what i done said don't seem like there a hint of justice. As boys the old man would always play his fights on sunday all day and u only left the lounge to use long drop!!! hehehe good times, bring em back!!!
Se quisessemos construir o boxeador perfeito teriamos que fazer uma cópia de Sugar Ray Robinson, o maior de todos, o mestre , o maior de todos os tempos e que jamais será superado.
I aint seen all these for years brother!!! u is da mantis dea Celtic!!! Exceptional form you have!! Can't thank you enough.

Sugar Ray Robinson did NOT have 177 wins before his first loss. He had 40, still a lot, but he only won 173 fights in his entire career.

@bigmoney749 maybe he's including amateur?

Who's the attention seeking member of Robinson's corner from 57:53 - 58:19?
dcasey77 6 months ago
It's unusual the way the footage of the Fusari weigh in is so obviously staged.

Sadly, five months after Robinson's retirement party Turpin committed suicide.

@dcasey77 yeah and shot his 4 year old daughter twice before doing it. he must have been a mess

@LionelWitchieWardrob Yes, by a miracle she survived.
Have you read 'The Tragedy of Randolph Turpin' by Jack Birtley?
From reading it it becomes clear the Turpin had the talent to become a fantastic boxer but lacked the tools to deal with the success that followed.
It is a genuine tragedy.
dcasey77 1 week ago
Interestingly, the confident wink that lets reporters know Turpin was ready for Robinson happened the year after their two fights.
The footage is of Turpin beating Cockell to win the British and Commonwealth Light Heavyweight titles in 1952.
